    Gotta love a twilight launch - truly awesome to see. Also shows the range and lighting of the second stage too..... I wish they'd launch just a few degrees further north to bring it over Scotland.....it's a wee bit in-between.

    Those are the cold gas nitrogen thrusters on the first stage as it re-orients itself for the entry burn before landing. Looks awesome all lit up. They look like cones or curved waves edge on. But when they are pointing right at you they look like rings.

    ENTRY BURN AT THE END!!!

    • @jip5889
      @jip5889 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looked to me that it was the craft entering into the twilight as it descended back into the atmosphere. That’s why the light reflected is more red.

    • @Pihros
      @Pihros 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      that was not the entry burn that happened later

      A few minutes after what is shown in this video there was a bright red plume about 20 degrees below and to the left of the main plume. I don't know what part of re-entry this is but it is definitely part of it. It's the third time I've seen it during night launches and the duration of the burn and its orientation is always the same.

      @@donncalkins9747 the light you see is the light reflected from the sun reflected on the craft. It was high up just after sunset. They went up into the sunlight. That is why the red turns reddish right before it goes out. You pass through an afternoon sunset.

      @@jip5889 Why is what you see so far from the craft? This was 20 or more degrees away from the second stage and could be seen while you could still see the second stage. They were in completely different locations so I don't see how they can both be the second stage, sunlight or no. Plus, I saw the same thing during the last launch at 3 in the morning, far from sunset.
