I think this mod sums up one of the biggest reasons most fans were disappointed with KH3: many of them can't put down nostalgia glasses and accept that they are not playing KH2.

I hope in KH4 they delve into the idea of alternate costumes. I would’ve loved to play KH3 as KH1 or KH2 Sora. I just seems like a waste that we only play as KH2 Sora for one world and KH1 Sora for like 4 seconds.
This makes me giddy. I'm an absolute sucker for KH2 (I mean it is my all time no questions asked favorite game ever) and just seeing the modding community be able to do stuff like change KH3 Sora's moveset for KH2 Sora's move pool is just outright impressive. If I were ever to get KH3 on PC this is what I'm getting to spice up a new playthrough.
The drive forms were fantastic, but two things I hated about them.. having to level them up, and the Drive Gauge. I do personally think that Formchanges fit better and work really well. But the drives were far more diverse even though there was far less of them
@@danquaza9275 true the form changes are good because you get to use them way more often. The drive forms were fun as long as you could get to a save spot and reload the area to max out your gauge again
ugh, i want to play this mod so badly but i dont have a pc that will be able to run kh3 well 💀 kh2 has been my favorite kh game for years, seeing his outfit, moveset and battle quotes as well as drive forms in kh3 is like a dream come true
This is really cool. Even in the base game when he was wearing the kh2 outfit throughout Olympus it was weird seeing sora use kh3 mechanics on top of it.
I use a mod which I absolutely love called Quick Run over Dodge Roll. It's really cool and lets you do a quick run if you hold square while on the ground and do a dodge roll if you press square like in KH2.
That camera shaking at the end bruh 😆😆. Final form is too good man, love how sora being so swaggy in that form. Although it's clearly doesn't have the same animation, I still give respect for these modders to put this out.
I think kh2 has got to be the superior game and I think it’s actually pretty evident given how many people are trying to mod 3 back into 2. The combos were better and more satisfying, the drive forms were more satisfying (undeniably final form feels like the peak of power and control far beyond ultimate form), even how gravity works in 3 just doesn’t quite do it for me. All enemies are so floaty I feel like a kid beating a balloon up into the air with a whiffle ball bat. Btw there’s the idea for the next mod right. Make enemies less floaty again.
Say what you will about KH3 and how good or bad it is as a KH game, but you cannot deny the fact that it's the most customizable game in the series. With the help of mods, you can make it the best one, from changing movesets and aesthetics, to a whole multiplayer mod, there's something for every fan.
This is so damn cool! This reminds me of that option in Bayonetta 3 where you can wear the Bayonetta 1 and 2 outfits, along with their old battle combos.
I keep saying, all the team needs to do is combine the speed and fundamentals of KH2's combat with the fidelity and quality of life improvements of KH3, and an incredible product will shake the gaming industry. Squeeze in the attention-to-detail of worlds from KH1. Really holding hope that KH4 will indeed see this ideal combination through.
If there’s one thing I’m really hoping for KH4 is that like KH2 the attacks get more to the point, and try less to be fancy, causing what feels like weird delays at times between attacks. I like KH3, but I’m hoping with 4 it’ll be an improvement
It's amazing how mods will enhance the gameplay experience in the future. As long as the new games run in Unreal Engine and get a PC port we can get all of these things. This is a big W for all types of players. I'm gonna Pog so hard if we get KH2FM and Re Mind moveset in KH4 as mods.

It's really not so much nostalgia as it is preferring the game design philosophy from one game that respects player agency mote than the newer one. KH3 is not the same style game as KH2, it's combat is less resource management, less grounded, and just overall a completely different game that a lot of people don't prefer over 2.

KH3 is a phenomenal game and it combines everything we've had over the years into one game. Though I don't know why people are so damn upset thta kh3 isn't just kh 2 + KH1 was vastly different from kh2 and kh3 is pretty different from kh2. Its always going to be that way.kh4 is going to be different from kh3. @Ramxenoc because usually when you get a sequel you want to see it expand on what made the game before great KH3 took all the aspects of what made KH2s combat philosophy great and threw it out the window. The loss of that snappy, grounded combat with actual weight, resource management, and overall play agency was stripped away for a game that homogenizes all ground and air combat into the same combos, feeds you screen nukes and transformations every minute or so, makes your decisions of wanting to stay on the ground invalid (have to get a mod just to make Groundbreaker turn into Falling Slash to have an on command "put me and my enemy on the ground" input.) It's a bad design overall compared to KH1 and KH2 and it's important to recognize that it's valid to want to see your series evolve, not degrade.
These kh2 mod moveset is so fresh and nostalgic I fking love it Also how dare you dodge slash is one of the perfect ingredient of combos in Kingdom Hearts 2 it's like the mid layer cake for the finishing touches which is the guardbreak and explosion

There is a few parts of the full combo you can get in kh2 missing in this mod. I'm pretty sure side swipe was what it was called, but you would make a couple of slashes back and forth hitting groups of enemies. I guess if you had multiple abilities equipped, they would automatically play out whatever is best for the situation making each combo slightly different. That's why kh2 combos are so good. You can't mimic that in a mod.
You know I could never figure out why I preferred KH2s combat until now. It's the impact! Every move feels so satisfying to pull off and I won't lie, I miss having unique spells. Having only elemental spells that all just act as long range splash damage is boring and there's no strategy to it, I always loved using spells like magnet, reflect, and gravity. I even loved how Fire was a spin attack instead of a homing attack (well the concept at least, I would have preferred if they did it with blizzard instead.) Of course in KH3 you can use spells and the shotlock dash thing to make the combat a little more interesting, but for the most part theres no point and when none of the spells are fun to use I'm just going to mash X until I win. I really hope KH4 takes notes and goes back to the more satisfying combos and slows down the combat a bit. Cause he's right, that explosion attack is proof of how much they sped up the combat.

Aerial dodge already exists in kh3, if someone found a way to remove the "only in combat" restriction then it may be more viable. Granted I've never been able to use it in kh3 because I think air slide overwrites it so maybe not.
I have two Theorys why Nomura Ported KH to PC 1. to let Players create theire perfect Version KH individually and give them the freedom to include Things that dont fit Into his Story concept (cause that man has this shit planned out for years hes the true MoM ) Or He lets people create These Mods to make a bit of market Research to See what Fans want for future Installments and take quote on quote "Notes"
I grew up with kingdom Hearts games especially 2 so I was excited to play it on Christmas Day back in 2016 this was 1.5/2.5 remix I really enjoyed the combos especially that spicy explosion finisher I agree in my opinion KH2 is my top favorite

Cool! love the air mobility , def a big improvement over 2 and this mod makes it more enjoyable it looks like, but staying in the air indefinitely spamming X if ur not interrupted makes it dull in a lot of cases , honestly the biggest thing that bothered me with KH3 aerial fights
You know how Xehanort brought his past self, as well as other people from the past to come fight in the future. Bro imagine if we could've played as 100% KH2 Sora against someone like Vanitas. Wanna get even crazier? Bring KH1 Sora to the future, and turn the gameplay into 100% Authentic KH1 Sora from 2002. Imagine KH1 Sora 2002, vs Xigbar. And imagine KH3 Sora doing a limit attack with KH1 or KH2 Sora. God that'd be fucking MENTAL.
If they did a Xehanort Saga Remaster, I would love them to look at all the fighting systems. Then slowly take away abilities until KH1 so that it feels like Sora learns abilities and KEEPS THEM throughout the Saga.
KH3 lacks physics and whippy animations swings of the keyblade. The abilities are not even being used the same way as KH2. KH2 Aerial Dive does not act like KH2 Aerial Dive . Explosions is a 4 hit move. Sora used to slap the keyblade around but there is no feel in it with KH3 moves. They need to make the game feel better in KH4.
Only things I want from kh2 is an area like the cavern of rememberence and they can include trials this time to unlock the drive forms and reaction commands since they've already integrated some of kh1 and kh2 combat abilities in his 2nd form default although I was a sad little upon not be able to use it freely but I can say kingdom key is one of the best around now the worst keyblade is starlight
I would also love to see mods that replace some of the KH3 keyblades with KH2 keyblades, like Shooting Star replaced with Star Seeker, Wheel of Fate being replaced with Follow the Wind, Hero's Origin replaced with Hero's Crest, Classic Tone replaced with Monochrome, and even KH3's Ultima Weapon replaced with KH2's.

It’s SO GOOD. You can finally see what the hell is going on and what SORA is doing when attacking. Perfect mid in my eyes. I love KH3 but hate the combat.
I don't complain about a lot of KH3's combat, it doesn't have the same upper ceiling of competency of KH2, but KH2 is honestly an anomaly among ALL action RPGs and every other KH game is still way above average in those regards... that being said... why would a game that focuses MORE on aerial combat give worse evasion options in midair. I think I'd only install this mod if I could make it exclusive to second form, but for the holidays I decided to finally do a crit run on PC, and damn did I really really miss air dodge. The Battlegate with the behemoth toys is a goddamn nightmare, and you are just praying for a moment to land to dodge normally as every move they do knocks you 20 feet in the air, effectively juggling to with infinite range beams, electric AOEs that follow you but somehow whiff you perfectly on your block frames, and relentless charge attacks. Doubleflight into glide does not feel the same as air dodge and glide, and Air Slide leaves you stuck for too many frames not falling and facing the wrong direction for a block... why Square... for the love of Donald why? Gotta say though, and I know I'm a minority here, over the years I've grown to feel that the KH2 fit is my least favorite. The shapes and silhouette are nice, but I don't like the distribution of colors, and the patterns on the forms are kind of dated and tacky compared to the textile patterns from KH3, though maybe that's just because they stand out like vinyl patches or something. I always thought Limit form fixed those problems though, its ironically my favorite. But I gotta go for the drip of KH3 Final form's Zebra print pants over the tribal swirls from KH2.

Just do a 2nd form run without using summons, finisher, rides, Shotlocks and mid-air block. That's basically it.

KH2 was peak Kingdom Hearts. As much as 3 is fun and the other games are fun as well, 2 just hits different. It's the F:NV of Kingdom Hearts games.

KH2's UE4 remake had an update a few months ago, It looks alot like this mod.

I'm a big fan of this mod. My only wish is that it was modular. I'd love to retain the base KH2 combo with the KH3 modifiers, for example.
I have two Theorys why Nomura Ported KH to PC
1. to let Players create theire perfect Version KH individually and give them the freedom to include Things that dont fit Into his Story concept (cause that man has this shit planned out for years hes the true MoM )
Or He lets people create These Mods to make a bit of market Research to See what Fans want for future Installments and take quote on quote "Notes"

I grew up with kingdom Hearts games especially 2 so I was excited to play it on Christmas Day back in 2016 this was 1.5/2.5 remix I really enjoyed the combos especially that spicy explosion finisher I agree in my opinion KH2 is my top favorite
As I was watching this I was downloading the mods putting them in the folder and starting a new game
I really hope they bring back the illustration Icon character in KH4 it's just feel missing in KH3.
Question: Do these modded abilities replace 3's combos or are they separate abilities? Because this is would be cool if we could use a mix of both.

Cool! love the air mobility , def a big improvement over 2 and this mod makes it more enjoyable it looks like, but staying in the air indefinitely spamming X if ur not interrupted makes it dull in a lot of cases , honestly the biggest thing that bothered me with KH3 aerial fights

Bro imagine if we could've played as 100% KH2 Sora against someone like Vanitas. Wanna get even crazier? Bring KH1 Sora to the future, and turn the gameplay into 100% Authentic KH1 Sora from 2002. Imagine KH1 Sora 2002, vs Xigbar.
And imagine KH3 Sora doing a limit attack with KH1 or KH2 Sora. God that'd be fucking MENTAL.

If they did a Xehanort Saga Remaster, I would love them to look at all the fighting systems.
Then slowly take away abilities until KH1 so that it feels like Sora learns abilities and KEEPS THEM throughout the Saga.
Im wondering is it possible to use this mod and replace some attacks and put like the mods: Lethal Frame, Explosion Driver, and X-raid ?

I think this mod looks good and I like KH 2 Sora’s move set.
KH2 is definitely peak not even a debate
KH3 lacks physics and whippy animations swings of the keyblade. The abilities are not even being used the same way as KH2. KH2 Aerial Dive does not act like KH2 Aerial Dive . Explosions is a 4 hit move. Sora used to slap the keyblade around but there is no feel in it with KH3 moves. They need to make the game feel better in KH4.

I'm abit disappointed that they never allowed us to switch from KH3 Sora to KH2/1 Sora. If only it was added as a free update or DLC.
I prefer KH2 Sora combo since I feel the KH3 feels bit too delayed

Only things I want from kh2 is an area like the cavern of rememberence and they can include trials this time to unlock the drive forms and reaction commands since they've already integrated some of kh1 and kh2 combat abilities in his 2nd form default although I was a sad little upon not be able to use it freely but I can say kingdom key is one of the best around now the worst keyblade is starlight
Give me fully playable drive forms and I might be convinced to replay KH3 as a fully rebuilt KH2 sora.

I would also love to see mods that replace some of the KH3 keyblades with KH2 keyblades, like Shooting Star replaced with Star Seeker, Wheel of Fate being replaced with Follow the Wind, Hero's Origin replaced with Hero's Crest, Classic Tone replaced with Monochrome, and even KH3's Ultima Weapon replaced with KH2's.
I saw a actual mod of the forms. Not just the transform. Keyblade mods for final form and master and wisdom

I don't complain about a lot of KH3's combat, it doesn't have the same upper ceiling of competency of KH2, but KH2 is honestly an anomaly among ALL action RPGs and every other KH game is still way above average in those regards... that being said... why would a game that focuses MORE on aerial combat give worse evasion options in midair. I think I'd only install this mod if I could make it exclusive to second form, but for the holidays I decided to finally do a crit run on PC, and damn did I really really miss air dodge. The Battlegate with the behemoth toys is a goddamn nightmare, and you are just praying for a moment to land to dodge normally as every move they do knocks you 20 feet in the air, effectively juggling to with infinite range beams, electric AOEs that follow you but somehow whiff you perfectly on your block frames, and relentless charge attacks. Doubleflight into glide does not feel the same as air dodge and glide, and Air Slide leaves you stuck for too many frames not falling and facing the wrong direction for a block... why Square... for the love of Donald why?
Gotta say though, and I know I'm a minority here, over the years I've grown to feel that the KH2 fit is my least favorite. The shapes and silhouette are nice, but I don't like the distribution of colors, and the patterns on the forms are kind of dated and tacky compared to the textile patterns from KH3, though maybe that's just because they stand out like vinyl patches or something. I always thought Limit form fixed those problems though, its ironically my favorite. But I gotta go for the drip of KH3 Final form's Zebra print pants over the tribal swirls from KH2.

KH3 is my favorite of the series but there really is no comparison to KH2's combat. (Apart from dodge slash. Even magic flash is still better than that)
