Been looking at these for a while for a alternative to my focal Elegia , looking at reviews on these and there are some disparities as to opinion on how good the 1770s are. Your review showed on my recommended algorithm and honestly I think your review is one of the most comprehensive I have seen comparable to Josh Valour's Ordered these now due tomorrow hook them up to my Apogee groove......and hopefully will bring a smile to my face!
Also just got to the point about your G6. I was running my 1990pros on a G6 for awhile then added a iFi zen amp and use the G6 as a preamp/dac in low gain. It really woke the 1990 pros up wonder what it would do to the 1770s for you.
@@Digimorphosis you’ve definitely sold me on getting a pair! Curious to see how you think with an amp, for me it just added even more body and kind of impact at even lower volumes. The same thing happened with my home theater speakers when I added external amps past the receiver amplification. I’m sure there is a level at which point there are diminishing returns but it can really give some extra slam in there.

Briefly I switched my Crown amp that I use bridged for my Ultimax subwoofer to two channel mode and ran my speakers out of it and was surprised what the extra power sounded like in terms of liveliness. Yeah you've got me curious what some extra oomph would be like in my headphones.
Hi very nice review I play on ps5 pro I was going to get the new dt 1770 pro 2 do you think those would also be good for gaming or the mmx 330 pro whats your opinion which ones would you pick thank you stay safe and happy gaming to all.
I have and love the DT 1990 pros with the Dekoni pads, but I’ve been wishing for a bit more bass. That said the 1990 still have more bass than the other headphones I’ve tried but I want just a bit more. Also I had a cheap pair of krakens back in the day and remember some how feeling closed off and more in the game because of the closed back headphones. Because of these reasons I’m thinking about grabbing the 1770 pros.

@@Digimorphosis they will be here Wednesday! I feel like I know how they will compare to the 1990s, the one I’m really curious about is how they will compare to my maxwells. The maxwells punch above there weight class. I actually preferred them to the focal bathys, but I like my DT 1990 more than them or even the focal clears, so I’m hoping these things will be the best of both worlds for me! I keep the Maxwells for travel gaming and dungeons and dragons nights online. Can go get snacks while still talking because they are wireless haha

So I got them in last night and I really love the extra bass, I played some Overwatch and loved the impact more but the narrowing sound stage did impact my ability to pinpoint enemy’s some. I EQed them a little bit and it seemed to help that some. Music is do fun with these especially if you have the Dolby atmos for windows installed. This set had a small vibration or crackle in the right ear cup though and is getting returned. I saw they just launched a V2 so I ordered those instead. I think in the end I’ll end up keeping a pair of the 1990 and 1770, they both seem to be great for slightly different things. I also plan to compare them to my maxwells soon. I guess I could make a very basic video as I don’t know anything about video production, but I can compare the 1990s, 1770s, and the 1770 v2s in my opinion. As a bonus I’ll throw in the maxwells.

Interesting about the V2's -- I hadn't heard about those but am definitely interested in learning more! If you make a video yourself comparing them, I'd love to see it.

I'm not sure when that will be since I have other tech priorities right now, but I will definitely do a video about them when I can try them. I'm a hobbyist and while once in a while I get lucky and someone sends me a pair for review, most of the time I'm buying them myself and it's an expensive hobby. 😊
@@Izo49 Admittedly I don't have experience with a huge number of headphones, despite being an enthusiast. I've mostly found a few that I love and have rolled with those for years. The DT 1770 are my most recent acquisition, and I think they're great. For a bass headphone that still has good detail and imaging, I don't know of any others that I'd recommend in their place. Others I've used have better sound stage or better vocals, but they also lack the distinct sound the 1770 have. To me, in some of those cases, those other headphones are pretty lacking in bass (comparatively) and don't end up in my regular rotation.

What do you think about 1770 MK2, compare to first generation?

still have the shite non pluggable wire coming out of headphone where it comes off after a bit of stress. tick.
