On Palm Sunday, March 20, 2016 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed), FOX will present THE PASSION, a two-hour musical event, airing LIVE from New Orleans, that tells the 2000-year-old story of the last hours of Jesus Christ’s life on earth. Hosted and narrated by actor, writer, producer, director and New Orleans native Tyler Perry (“The Haves and The Have Nots,” “Gone Girl”), the special will feature a cast of today’s biggest stars (to be announced) performing a variety of popular music, arranged by executive producer and hit music producer Adam Anders (“Glee,” “Rock of Ages”).
Set in modern day, THE PASSION will follow the dramatic and inspirational story of Jesus of Nazareth, as he presides over the Last Supper, and then is betrayed by Judas, put on trial by Pontius Pilate, convicted, crucified and resurrected. The story will unfold live at some of New Orleans’ most iconic locations, while featuring a procession of hundreds of people carrying a 20-foot, illuminated cross from Champion Square outside the Superdome to the live stage at Woldenburg Park on the banks of the Mississippi River. - เพลง

Jencarlos sings this song like a prayer. I feel that Jesus was guiding him through this song. Beautiful. I can't stop playing The Passion soundtrack. Jencarlos is such a talented voice.

Jesus was praying in the garden. He was praying that he wouldn't have to go through the crucifixion, but He went through with it because it was The Father's will. That is why this is so amazing. He was thinking of YOU in Gethsemane and on the cross.

@@traemaxwell exactly he was absolutley terrified but he still was brave for us and lay down his life for those who were alive and weren't even born yet. If THAT isn't love I don't know what is. It broke God's heart that his son had to go through with that but I'm sure it brought him some comfort to know it was for a good cause.

Everybody in that audience was or were about to cry...
I 'm so happy they depicted Jesus never giving up and keep trying till the last moment in this show. He is not praying to escape his suffering death from weakness.
He desperately pleaded God to let him fulfill his mission as the Savior and asked God to show him the only right way...

This movie changed my life! Thank you to all who had a part in it. I cannot ever repay God for giving me his son and Jesus for dying for me. I will be forever in awe by this miraculous act of love God has for his children. We are so un-deserving. God bless everyone!
It’s so heartbreaking to think about the crippling fear that Jesus felt in the garden of Gethsemane that fateful night knowing every detail of what was about to happen to Him. Yet He loves us so much He took it all so we wouldn’t have too😭❤️ this performance is stunning. You can see the fear in his eyes and hear it in his voice he brings so much emotion to this entire scene and story. My boyfriend and I watch this together every year around Easter time such a powerful performance by everyone involved!!

Just simply incredible Jencarlos Canela!!! I would be willing to say that this performance of Jesus probably changed his life forever. Can't even begin to tell you how moving & touching his portrayal of Jesus was. It evokes such raw emotion, it's as if you're watching Jencarlos pour his heart out for everyone to share his experience. Mind blowing performance (the entire show & cast were phenomenal)!
+oregun8 I feel like Jencarlos Canela's protrayal of Jesus in this production was probably the best protayal of Jesus, especially during the last few hours of his life here on Earth, that I have ever seen! I felt like God truly had a part in the making of this production. God Bless all of the cast and crew of this wonderful performance!

this is why this story was written for you-he loves you, even if you don’t know him. He first loved you as you were knitted together in your mothers womb. He loved you as he spread his wings over you protecting you from the unknown and unseen. He loved you first.

I find this interesting even though I'm an atheist. I only found out about this cause I like Chris Daughtry.
If you watch his interviews about this project, you will see he do this beyond just to make people believe in God. It is not about religion, it is about hope, faith and be united. Now if up to you to believe or not to!

Once Saved, Always Saved! :)

I've kept the showing on my DVR this long & I still need to buy the dvd. This is my new Easter weekend tradition with my dad. Really hope they'll bring it to Broadway. So touching! This is my favorite part.

I hope they release a video of The Passion with all the pre-recorded scenes intact. Watching the videos on TH-cam without cutting away to see the audience faces is so much more intense. There are things missed from the show that I have seen on the TH-cam videos that are amazing! When Jesus & Peter are singing Home, Jesus holds his hand out to him & they do a "bro-shake" and they both smile so big, it's such a happy scene. Then the Last Supper and Calling all Angels is so much more riveting without cutting away to audience faces. But the most amazing thing that was missed in the live performance was the scene when Judas betrayed Jesus and when they're singing Judas takes Jesus' face & tells him to look into his eyes....WOW!!! I'm getting chills just thinking about it! I loved Tyler Perry's narration, and the scene when they bring the cross in signifying the crucifixion, but they could leave everything else out and have an AWESOME video that I would watch so many times I would wear the tracks out on the DVD...if that's even possible! :-)
This entire special was so perfectly expected and performed!! All the songs and performers were selected perfectly. Especially this number. I would have liked to actually seen Jesus dying but having Tyler describe it and then having Mary singing by the illuminated cross gave it something fresh.
This is my other favorite song. Jencarlos turns the original song totally around and sings it with feel. I teared up in the scene where he falls kneeling...powerful!

This was such an amazing production and recount of the Passion of Christ..I love how the story was told as though it was happening in our very own lifetime today.......the bridge between now and 2000 years was virtually invisible and yet so compelling to what the story would look like if it were happening for the first time; in the present !!!!

this is the best quality video that you put out from the passion. I want to watch it over and over again! This was the most powerful scene in this show! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! He didn't "believe it", as this is implying/referring to Jesus NOT as who he IS (as God incarnate), but as equal only with people and his followers.
*His followers are the ones who "believe", but Jesus is the one who is to be BELIEVED IN.*
This is derogatory of His deity. *Again, Jesus is NOT the follower (man), but the one whom is to BE followed (God).*

And then this production further blasphemes him by the "Jesus" actor singing, "I won't give up, if you don't give up". *This is blasphemy.His sacrifice and resurrection were not hinged or dependent on "whether or people gave up on him or not".*
*This statement removes and blasphemes his deity* and implies he is ONLY a man who is "dependent on the support humanity" to carry out his mission. His mission was to serve Extremely derogatory.
(In fact, the disciples and many others DID betray or leave him in his very time of need.)

deceives the viewer and makes fun of our dear savior Jesus Christ.
