I've been suspecting this since some time now and not only that, caffeine affects the pituitary which also affects testosterone production in men and fertility overall for both sexes. I also suspect nicotine is a shield that neutralizes caffeine! So it's a three fold hairloss cause: pineal effect, and effects over the processes involving follicle stimulating hormone and antidiuretic hormone.

I loved this very informative video. I needed to know this as I am facing a bit of greying at 33 where otherwise im doing good on the physical side. I know it is related to lifestyle but now im certain its my tea that is causing this. However, I have another suspect in this as well. Its probably the refined sugar in the tea/coffee also that is causing this. The pineal gland melatonin info was the missing piece of the puzzle in my understanding. This greying issue is going to be on the rise and if you do a simple search on youtube like "Teen grey hair" then you will see teenagers and 12 year olds concerned about white hair. Tragic really. Your video should get more traction and if i see the kids asking for help then ill linkyour video.

I'm in my 40s can I take Melatonin? Are there any side effects of this supplement?
I searched on Amazon and found plenty of them but don't know which one to choose from, any particular brand you recommend?
    Thanks in advance.
I forgot to mention that I'm not heavy coffee drinker, may 3-4 cups a week but I used to drink a lot of green tea and sometimes black tea without sugar. And that has also been reduced from last couple of months to 1-2 cups a day.
I also need to tell you that I can fall asleep very quickly but keep waking up during the night. Very light sleep I have. And during the day I want to take a nap which I sometimes take it but sometimes it's not possible.

And here's the source of Melatonin:
5-HTP is the precursor to Serotonin which contributes to the feeling of happiness and Melatonin which is key to regulating a healthy sleep-wake cycle. Our capsules contain 50mg of 5-HTP obtained from the seeds of African shrub Griffonia simplicifolia
Recommended dosage is one capsule daily after meal. But I don't know how many grams of Melatonin are in one capsule.

As we age our melatonin levels fall and generally (maybe as a consequence) our sleep quantity and quality also decrease. If we improve our sleep quality through means such as exercise then the need for melatonin supplementation decreases. Would improved sleep quality and duration replicate the melatonin health benefits without the harmful side effects? It would also seem self evident that caffeine, as a stimulant, could disrupt our sleep cycle and therefore moderation, with early (am) coffee consumption, the key.

Whats the best test for checking minerals? A regular doctor refuses to check this for me. Maybe a hair mineral test?

@@LesliesNewPrime Whats the best test for checking minerals? A regular doctor refuses to check this for me. Maybe a hair mineral test? Im willing to pay for the right mineral & vitamin test. Did an OATS test discovered B2, B6 is low along with Vit E and A. I started taking 1 400 vitamin e IU, 5,000 IU of Vit A from Cod Liver Oil. But Zn and Copper were never tested
