So wait, how do you insta-catch without attacking? Cuz every time I re catch I do an aerial or a ground attack

johnson SC I see. Thanks! Also, I found out that if you jump and press grab at the same time, it’ll sometimes make you do a nair, not sure if something up with the joycons or not. I haven’t tested it with a GameCube controller or pro controller yet.

Hit grounded opponent with apple -> hit them with fair -> throw apple again with a -> jump and neutral air or up air. It's a quick 40%, looks cool, and works at 0%

But I got a question:
how I can do an insta catch ? I mostly recatch only with an attack( like galaga with an aerial) and I don’t know if an air dodge is considering insta recatch.
Good content
There is a window of space near to an item which will instacatch items with a grab input but only catch items in the air. Fruit can only be regrabbed once.
Aerials, Dash Attacks and Tilts can pick up items but always go through the whole animation (landing for aerials aside etc).

@@hodstrat3722 No problem but I'm checking my old posts to make sure they are more correct. Mind that you should use grab but the airdodge may still come out if you are far away enough.
thelastgogeta yeah I have checked it yesterday and it works. I can make an aerial recatch with galaga but without any attack or air dodge
could you do a video on insta catching? I can only pull it off maybe 5% of the time, seems very difficult
It's not that difficult. All you really have to do is press the Z/grab button right next to the apple. Doing it too early or late will result in an airdodge.

Really struggling with the first set up. I keep on F-Airing or N-Airing th hydrant which obv. causes it to launch. How can I consistently instacatch the apple without inputting an attack. Love the videos, keep it up.
Use the airdodge input or item drop input, when you are close enough to the item in the air. You catch things instantly (no air dodge/grab!) and you can also instantly drop as long as there are no directional inputs with the same button.
(Edit: Checking again, fruits can be grabbed once again online and you always airdodge with the air dodge input)

Also, this might sound really simple, but how do you regrab the fruit without whiffing an attack?

@@yorickvlt1021 Don't worry, I think I may have thrown off some people and meant to only mention the grab button in the air. It instantly drops items when in no movement inputs are entered (though you can jump forward and let go) and always catches if you are close enough with no dodge.
I crosschecked things.
Also I believe you can only recatch a fruit once so don't beat yourself up about not getting Smash 4 combos. The fruit is stronger in a sense since it has the full effect when dropped even bell.

Wow this is a common question, since Smash 4 and maybe Brawl you can grab items with the grab button if you are close enough to the item without doing any actions. Otherwise an air dodge comes out as it is a macro for dodge and attack.

Pressing grab. If u do it right u won't do an airdodge and then just regrab it
