How did I get that wrong lol my apologies for that. It's hard to keep track of so many bands at once but I shall make a Venom video soon to make up for my mistake lol thanks for watching and supporting heavy metal🤘 really glad you enjoyed it 😎
really good work, especially with the norse backstory in mind. i dont like when people just say its about satanism, its more about the distaste of the acts that come from christianity back then. building a christian church on the ancient graves and temples is stupid af
I love the NWOBHM/Proto Black Metal sound they've switched in the later years, but I can't do fall without the early albums. Darkthrone and Isengard are the sound of the autumn equinox for me. Hail to the dark lords of Norway !!!
Probably one of my favourite bands, took me awhile to fully understand and enjoy them. They were one of the first major extreme metal bands I ever heard.
1988-2013 most of their catalog is killer. Wasn’t a fan of Plaguewielder or Hate Them. However, something is totally off since post-2013. Arctic Thunder was the first album they put out that was just flat out boring, uninspired, and had really lackluster drum production. Old Star had one good song (title track) and Eternal Hails…… was to me a very solid album. The latest output Astral Fortress is without question their most disappointing. Not sure why they seem to be losing their spark.
Excellent analysis. Thats why I stopped the commentary at Panzerfsaust. They came out of their shell which was great in a lot of ways, but something was lost in the original ideology or aesthetic perhaps. Fenriz and Ted are great for the metal community now though with how open they are about music and their influences which is inspiring
Really like metal also. Thanks for detailing this. As I have gotten older though I started getting into slowcore music and dark ambient drone music like that Drone Zone TH-cam channel because I needed to find dark music that I could also sleep to easier. Some metal bands you might wanna check out that I like are the band Dusk, Umbri Nihil, Sunn O))) and Amorphis. These are a little more doom and/or goth style metal but you'd probably like some of it. I hope you make more videos about music related stuff like this. Thanks bro.
Really happy you enjoyed it. Will definitely check out these other bands. And I know what you mean with the more mellow music. Sometimes I will unwind with some dungeon synth
1992-2004 for me personally. After Sardonic Wrath i lost my interest with the new direction. I understand when artist change but it just Didn't click with me.
@@AndrewMarloweTV - i listened to a song about punching a valley with 50000 Christians in it.... those are the vocals that are burned into my head... but i love autopsy - acts of the unspeakable - so my opinion on vox are garbage anyways :) have a good day brother...
This is the most comprehensive take on Darkthrone I have seen.
I really appreciate that my friend. Hopefully will get people interested for sure
8:38 then we had bands from Sweden like Venom? Try Newcastle, England. Thank you for the black metal content, though 🤘

Definitely agree! Love to spin some old school darkthrone in the autumn months, and winter ofcourse lol

Same. They have such a great discography, it's a journey in itself listening to their material

@@AndrewMarloweTV Funny enough, Panzerfaust is my favorite album by them followed by UaFM.

Emperor is my all time favorite band!!!🖤⚔🪦
Perhaps I will make an emperor video soon 🤘
Panzerfaust is my favourite album as well.
It's really the best from the black metal era of darkthrone, has such an unsettling feel to it
Great video!
So glad you enjoyed! Merry yuletide to you !

Yea sardonic wrath was great. It was super heavy. I used to have it on vinyl
Correct people dont talk much about Sardonic Wrath
"This is Occultus Infernus of the Sinister Solstice... also known as Ted."
venom came b4 slayer if im correct as most people consider them 2 b the founding fathers of bm.
Definitely right about that, not sure if I mentioned Venom but they were definitely one of the first! Thanks for the comment 👍
Transivanian Hunger is the dookie. I can’t get over you calling him Ted. 😂
I know haha but Ted he is. wasn't going to bother trying to pronounce his last name lol
get your facts straight
some of the worst vocals in the genre...
Lmfao yea I mean the dakethrone vocals are hit or miss depending on the album, but I'd say Nocturno culto is pretty solid most of the time
