You've got some fantastic products available Wade! I'll probably be in the market for one of those magnetic hull mounts later this spring which will be used on a Striker 4CV with the CV20-TM transducer (looks identical to the one shown here) and a Predator 13 kayak. One squeeze should suffice on the hand crimp tool bud, too much pressure could result in a broken terminal/splice. If you're on the right die setting, it'll be alright :) Keep the awesome products coming!

The CV plus has Clear View which is their version of Down imaging, and it also has bathymetric maps it can create. The Striker 4 only has standard 2d sonar with GPS.

i see that you connected to a small12v battery. can you connect that unit to a larger 27 series 12v marine battery?
Yes, you just need your battery to be 12 volts

Either really - it all depends on taste; I.e. what you want in a fish finder. Different models have different combinations of features; E.g. GPS or mapping, etc.
