    My husband Josh Bergman met Eric and Ariel on their first day snag fishing it Seward. He's not a commenter so I will do it for him. Thanks to Ariel for taking a picture with him and to Bo and Bandit for posing. Josh didn't get to take a picture with Eric, but he said he was very friendly. That day was Josh's 42nd birthday and meeting you both was truly a highlight. We watch simple living Alaska all the time and your channel was a big reason we came up here for our 2022 summer vacation. Thanks for sharing your lives with the internet and being so nice in person as well.

    The sound of a passing train and it's whistle horn really relaxes me. My father and I used to sit in the backyard of our home past midnight listening to the distant train. and it was our way of bonding.

    My favorite thing every time you fish is Arielle saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry fish," as she dispatches her catch. That would be SO ME! It just shows her respect for the life, while knowing the life of her catches will provide life and nourishment for them. I love it. That last one was such a fighter, but I was so afraid it would get away, only to die due to partial damage. Good job Arielle. I worried, though, for both of you that you'd snag yourselves on those huge treble hooks while your fish flopped around and you tried grabbing them. I flinched every time. Your fishing escapades and gardening are my favorite videos. And as much as I'm not into hunting, and despise sport hunting, I don't mind your hunting trips because it's for sustainance and you show great care and respect while always using all parts of the animal. I really look forward to your next moose hunt. When might that be?

    • @Rosso-h3b
      @Rosso-h3b ปีที่แล้ว

      The only thing I have a problem with is snag fishing. Seems unnecessary cruel and damaging, especially to the fish that gets off the hooks.

    Hey you guys... I know this is absolutely off topic but I need to share this with you. I have ZERO explanation why I think about this on a semi regular basis but to this day I absolutely CRINGE when I think about that root cellar debacle!!!! That post you guys put up sharing the fact after all that work and $$$ that you had no alternative but to fill in the hole!!!?? I'm by no means a touchy feely man but all I wanted to do was give you two the biggest hug and try amd say something to make it better!!!! Which would have been futile I readily admit!!! Holy cow that was a heartbreaker!!! I've lived in Alaska and fully understand the effort it takes to thrive in that environment. And taking steps backwards always sucks out loud!!! You two handled that with such grace and poise. I promise you that wouldn't have been said for me if I had been in your shoes!!! Continued blessings as well wishes on all you guys endeavor to accomplish. You two are learning something many people never learn in a lifetime. It's not about what one has are doesn't have... Life's treasure is found in the process. It's not the road traveled its the traveling itself. You guys understand that...
    Blessing from Montana...

Some day, take the road along the bluffs out of downtown to Lowell point, then hike out to Tonsina Creek, which opens up to a beautiful secluded beach. Sometimes when crossing the creek, it is filled with spawning salmon. You're sure to have a beautiful time there...

      @@unnamedxx What are the differences between fish that have been drained, and ones that aren’t? Texture and/or taste after cooking? The only type of fish I’ve prepared are store bought 😅

    I saw you guys. Caught my limit as well. Had my dogs with me so couldn’t leave them in the car for too long. Amazing experience snagging.

      The “little beater stick” is rather sinisterly, called a “priest”

    As always great video. It takes me back a few years. I lived in Anchorage for 4 years in the 60s and Delta junction in the late 70s. It truly is a beautiful place.

    We are in Seward also but only 1 sockeye for me. First ever!! I was hoping to see y’all as we fished the low tide on Nash Road.

    This was absolutely fascinating. Never knew you could catch fish that way! Although for the fish, that must be the most bizarre experience 😂😂

    I got the chance to tour a salmon hatchery here in Michigan recently. It was so cool and interesting to learn about! I honestly didn't even know salmon were in Lake Michigan

    That’s awesome I’ve never seen that before. Eric I would like to ask you if your self and Arielle would do halibut fishing in the future. That would be amazing. Have a great week.
