They both will have aching backs for the next few days. Those fish were huge and some of those stringers must have been +120 lb. Carrying them up 300ft of cliff, six times, Eric is an absolute beast.
Honestly, the Alaska State Government should be funding this channel for promoting Alaska, sitting here in New Zealand, Alaska is on my bucket list of places I want to visit. Thank you for engaging content.

We've caught many of fish in that spot. We call it the "meat hole". A tip we use for safety, is a rock climbing harness and attach the rope in the rear. Easy, safe, and comfortable. For packing this fish up the cliff, we use a dry bag - backpack, works perfect.
Having been to the Copper River with my son and seen the effort it takes to dip net this area, it is one of the most physically demanding and dangerous places to dip net. We set up not far from where you did. Great respect to you both, glad you timed it right and got your fish.
I'm always fascinated by the complete silence when you film on your property. The sound of silence it's amazing. I wish I could have total calm silence for even 5 minutes. You guys are truly blessed
I really admire how you guys follow local regulations for hunting/fishing. It's done for an environmental purpose and you respect it, every time, even though you don't need to. Kudos!
It's hard to believe that we are once again watching you two dip netting for sockeye salmon .... time has just gone by soooooo fast. You guys killed it out there, with 35 nice fish! Thanks for once again filming your adventure to the Copper River👍 Take care Eric & Arielle 🐟🐟🐟
Your content never fails to provide me with wholesome entertainment. Thank you again for an amazing vlog I love salmon so watching any fishing 🎣 videos y'all do.
Those intro/outros in this case keep sending shivers down my spine. Awesome work E&A! When you work that hard for your food, I'm sure it tastes even better!
Outstanding travel log on some of the most incredibly wild and untamed parts of our country. You managed to capture all of that natural beauty while fishing off the slide of cliff. Wow, that's what I call a true adventure. Thank you for sharing your journey with the world.
Thank you, as always, for your amazing videos. My husband and I and our grandchildren just watched two of your adventuresome videos. Billy, the eldest of the 3 children was completely taken with your fishing trip. I'm so glad that a family can settle down and watch a youtube reality show without ever worrying about bad language being used or inappropriate behavior being shown. Thank you very much. We have all learned so much and are completely entertained.
Thank you for every minute you spend taking us along on your journeys and filming it so that we can join you. That is so much work, not just the fishing, travelling, work but also putting it all together and posting it here for us to enjoy. Give Bandit and Beau a scratch behind the ears from me :)
I love Simple Living Alaska! Eric actually smiled when he said you two would be fishing from high, rocky cliffs over the most dangerous river in Alaska....I thought, well, the fish don't have a chance. And then every time the dip net when in the water, out came a fish. Hard work but you got The whole 35 fish limit in one long go. EPIC!!!! Truly, one of your best fishing adventures. Thank you. Suzi
Everytime y'all allow us to be part of your fishing adventures, it reminds me of the old adage " Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day But teach him how to fish he'll eat for a lifetime!" Absolutely love watching your adventures!
Way to just “wing it” and catch your limit dangling from ropes. There’s nothing like fishing through the night in the Land of the Midnight Sun. You two work so well together it is fun just sharing that with everyone else. And all of Alaska that you share! Not too long before Moose season.😎
Thank you for taking us with you on your amazing fishing trip! I thoroughly enjoy watching all your adventures both at. home and away. Stay safe & happy always!
OMG that was huge amount of fish and the work it took to catch the salmon. I can’t imagine how tired Eric was and Arielle too. That is so dangerous having to anchor yourself so you don’t fall in the river. That was an awesome waterfall. Until your next video ,take care and be safe.(Judy NB)🌲🇨🇦
I am so glad that 5 of my family members are visiting Alaska this summer. Unfortunately I am not one of them!! But they will be visiting paradise - Alaska is extremely beautiful and to see you two work together and enjoying life the way you do is fantastic - you are so full of energy and life. Thank you so much for your videos.
I am not a hunter or a person that fish but I would definitively go to Alaska to see the beautiful landscapes, it is breathtaking! Thank you for that amazing content!
What a man, Eric!! I can’t believe the strength you have! A real man’s man! Good job, You two. It’s so exciting to watch y’all fish. Then, I enjoy watching you prepare them. It’s so interesting!! Bo and Bandit are too precious lying down being good boys. Love them, too!! ♥️🙏🏼♥️
I don’t know what I enjoy the most your adventures, the beautiful scenery , or the awesome friendship/partnership y’all have. Y’all truly enjoy one another. My husband and I are still like that 44 years into it. I would love to go there but not my husband. I live vicariously through you two. I also enjoy the love and attention you give Beau and Bandit. I love the fishing videos but I wonder how the garden is coming ? I’m in Fl so ours will be wrapping up soon.
Hats off to you two. I know what that kind of activity requires of one. I really did enjoy your video even though it left me Exhausted. Thank you for the entertainment.
wow ! what a fishig trip this was & the amount of work it took...you guys rock ! My inlaws had an old VW bus & spent every summer up there for many years...up until they were in their 70's. They would go up & fish then volunteer at a cannery around Valdez. They spent their later years doing what they loved ! They drove every year from Georgia all they wa to Alaska !
The scenery in this video was breathtaking. Hanging off those cliffs and that narrow bridge was making my heart pound though. You both look like you are having such a good time. You have the definition of a good life!
Spectacular trip and climbing up with 50 lbs of fish, one-handed...oh my! Well done! So much better with your Polaris versus hitch hiking out like last year. You do indeed know what you are doing!
You know more this year than last year. I remember you were both so tired and the guy was nice enough to drive you back to your car. I know you will have a great time. I am very old and I get to live thru y’all. Glad y’all have the long ropes this year to tie yourself to the cliff. God Bless!
I always wish I was a fly on the wall at your cabin, getting to see all the little pottering about the yard and day to day chores that doesn't make it to the channel. I really envy how you both live, completely understand how much hard work and effort must go into every aspect of your cabin and projects but you make it look so fun and rewarding, like it's no hassle what so ever. One day I hope to live a similar life, once I can afford to purchase a property of my own, either here in Australia or who knows- Maybe even Alaska.. lol
Wow, those fish were huge. Can’t imagine how tired you both were after that trip, especially Eric, good job. The drone footage was breathtaking as always. Glad you had a good time. Have a blessed day 🙏🏻🙏🏻💕👩🏻🌾🍣
Your videos just inspire me so damn much. You warm my soul, just hearing your voices can sloooow down my heart rate. Thanks for sharing SUCH amazing footage of your beautiful land. ❤❤ I adore watching your salmon fishing trips every year!! AND I LOVE all the amazing ways you prepare/preserve it !! BiG Hug to you both, as always, from your neighbours in 🇨🇦 🍁!! Happy Summer!
The scenery you live with is worth everything you have to go through to survive in Alaska! You work hard, play hard, but look what beauty you live around! Paradise to me
Yay my favourite vloggers! Perfect timing for Canada Day long weekend “free” entertainment. You never disappoint. High quality vlog as always. Thank you for sharing. Best from Canada.
I really do appreciate you both letting us go along with you on your adventures, thank you. the scenery is awesome, That salmon will make good eating. WELL DONE TO BOTH OF YOU.
Amazing episode guys!!! Great cinematography! You guys are TOUGH ! Thank you ! Almost 10 years ago our relatives who live in Ancorage took us to this same fishing trip and we witnessed dip netting ...houling catch back to the RV was so hard I had some small muscles on my legs hurt that I did not know I had them...( we did walk back with a tub of fish loaded on to a bicycle child carrier) we fished about 4 miles in on that same trail...
What a tremendously satisfying vid! Packed and ready. First day (and night) out - catch the limit. Beautiful scenery and gorgeous day, Again, good scene/music combo. You're definitely getting the knack for wild harvesting in Alaska. Maybe next time a way to pull the catch up the hill - in a basket, bucket, something sturdy and stable enough to handle several hauls. Do you have a winch on the Polaris and can you get it close enough?
That was AMAZING !! I’m so happy that y’all got your limit the first night. I was so excited ! Can’t wait to see what your plans are for these sockeye. Thank you so much for the video
I watched your video before heading to Chitina this week. I can’t thank you enough for putting together such a thorough video of what to expect. I didn’t get as many fish, but I certainly learned a lot and had a lot of fun! Thanks!
Epic fishing trip. That waterfall was amazing. That tunnel looked hand carved. Watching Eric go up that cliff and no rope, made me hold my breath. Great job.
Another wonderful adventure to fill the freezer. Every time I watch your videos it makes me wish I could be young again. My goodness, the things I've missed..lol. If Arielle is afraid to try anything I've yet to see it. Girl, you just rock!!!
THAT.WAS.AMAZING! Wow. For me, that was your bravest adventure (not counting the face-off with a glacier way back which runs second haha), and with a royal feast reward. I have only eaten Copper River sockeye salmon twice in my life when I lived in Seattle. It was so excellent that even today, and I'm 74 years old, I remember the indescribably delicious taste.
This brings back a lot of memories! I took my then 12 year old daughter with me to AK to do some work for a customer/friend. Part of the deal was that we would get some time to see and do things. One thing we did was to go along with his wife and some of their friends and watch them dip Copper River salmon. I recognized all the places you were and we walked through the tunnel before we left for McCarthy the next morning after camping out the night before, eating salmon sushi and a fish stew around the campfire. Loved seeing it all again!
Ok, now THIS is my favorite video! We had friends growing up that would do this and bring us a fish every year. The most delicious salmon on the planet!! Well done, guys!!👍🌲🐟
I just wanna say another deep genuine thank you for documenting these things. I’m stuck, for lack of a better word, living a way of life I’m just truly not satisfied with. Seeing not only you guys but all of the families out there this summer gives me hope that the way of life I want is still out there, and will be waiting for me when I get to it. Can’t wait to see the next video. You guys continue to teach me everything I know so far ❤️
For what it’s worth... it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again. F. Scott Fitzgerald
@@alannagilmore8982 it’s not to late and it’s not too early! I just have so much financial garbage associated to my name because of being born into the mentality that you go to college and get a fancy job and that’s success. It takes a long time to be able to get yourself out of town and off grid, especially when you’re in debt :/// I’ve applied to a few jobs in Seward tho 🤫
Thank you for taking us with you on this amazing journey. Beautiful photography of an amazing state. I can never get over the different shades of blue and green. So deep and rich. Love the aerial shots. Hope Bo is okay. I think he needed a hug in the heat.
You kids take the most gorgeous videos!!! Thanks for sharing. Congratulations on all the salmon!! So awesome. You're both so good with the boys, especially Bo. You're so loving and patient as he's aging and he and Bandit are such good boys. I always laugh at Bandit as he paws the water. Anywho...ty again for sharing your experiences and lives. You're both very beautiful souls. Blessings always ~Lisa
I always love watching your videos. Love seeing you guys fishing together. And harvesting your own food and all. I've been wanting to learn maybe when I get my significant other we will be able to do things like this. Can't wait to see what you guys do with these fish!
How deeply satisfying to catch your food! Mind blowing to see how many fish you can pull in such little time...once again very jealous of your lifestyle but so happy that you get to live it!!!
What a fun video! And all those fish in one (loooong and strenuous) sitting. Coupled with happy dogs, glorious weather, and good cereal, this was a top notch outing for you. As usual, beautiful and thoughtful filming and editing. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Eric, watching you climb that rock face with 100 pounds of fish hanging over your shoulder SIX TIMES made me tired, just watching. Amazing haul, you two. What a joy to watch you! 🤩
Just went on a tour of Haley Creek with State of Alaska Commissioners. Thanks for being respectful of Ahtna country and showing people the beautiful scenery in Chitina.
My relative is working in AK and lives w/ her son. She had local take her to Copper River and taught them how to catch salmon w those nets. They always fished in FL and were so excited to get salmon. She sent this vid to show how hazardous it can be!
I know it's probably a given.. but please tell me you guys are going to make a whole separate video where you process all this fish!? I love these videos so much.. you guys are amazing at documenting these adventures, some of the shots you get are so beautiful.. and your editing is some of my favorite on TH-cam. It's so cool to see how much you guys have grown over the years.. and I'm proud to say that I've been here every step of the way
Loved last year's copper river trip video and this year's trip was every bit as enjoyable. Thank you both for sharing your lives and adventures with us. Great video.
Never tire of these amazing episodes you guys create! The expanse of scenery is mind blowing! I’ve never seen fishing done like this! Learn something new every time! 🙌🏻
WOW WOW and WOW . Good looking ( and great tasting sockeye ) plus they look huge . Also the scenery is awesome and you took some great shots . You really had to work and sweat for that haul of fish up the cliff but it will be well worth all your efforts when you're enjoying the meals your fishing trip provides . Thank you so much Eric and Ariel for sharing all your awesome videos . It brings back so many memories of the glory of Alaska . I live in Ontario , Canada but have been to Alaska 3 times and our last visit there we stayed for a month with friends we had met while we were vacationing in Hawaii . A great couple who loved to fish as much as we did . They came to Ontario twice to stay with us and their last visit we took them to the Bahamas to stay at another friend's condo ( that we rented from them ) for 3 weeks . Conner and Sarah loved it as they had never seen the Atlantic Ocean - and the fishing there was great as well . Unfortunately , Conner passed away 3 months later and Sarah moved back to Colorado to be where their 3 children lived but we still keep in contact . We met because we all loved to fish , clean our catch , cook it and eat it .
Magnifique ce que vous nous montrez de ce beau coin d'Alaska, vous êtes courageux de pêcher dans ces endroits dangereux. Merci j'attends votre prochaine vidéo.
That was a crazy MIDNIGHT RAID for 35 beautiful fish! What a score, and you guys will never forget this trip. You captured the vibe very well in the edit.
Years ago when we lived in Yellowknife, we use to loose track fishing into the late night. Cause it was daylight out. Those were good times. You worked hard for your 35 fish. Dedication is a good word.Safety is important. You have that covered with the ropes. And Life jackets save lives. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
If anyone thinks that that was free fish, gimme a break. That was labor intensive. Outstanding.
Not to mention the gas to go back and forth….and with these prices. That was no doubt a pricey trip!
Plus all the equipment necessary, the trip, so the fish are not free. Love your videos. 💖💖💖
And a fishing license… financially very cheap fish buuut it’s a lot of work
They both will have aching backs for the next few days. Those fish were huge and some of those stringers must have been +120 lb. Carrying them up 300ft of cliff, six times, Eric is an absolute beast.

One of the best outdoors channel on TH-cam. Enjoy watching all your boat/road/fishing trips.
Honestly, the Alaska State Government should be funding this channel for promoting Alaska, sitting here in New Zealand, Alaska is on my bucket list of places I want to visit. Thank you for engaging content.
Great job 👏
Hahahaha I'm from Australia and it's so far away from us too ..... but like you it's a place I've love to see too.
Same haha

I agree completely! I'm thinking of ways to move there!
We've caught many of fish in that spot. We call it the "meat hole". A tip we use for safety, is a rock climbing harness and attach the rope in the rear. Easy, safe, and comfortable. For packing this fish up the cliff, we use a dry bag - backpack, works perfect.
OMG Eric is the GOAT going verticals with all those fish 🎣
You two are my favorite team 🙌
Having been to the Copper River with my son and seen the effort it takes to dip net this area, it is one of the most physically demanding and dangerous places to dip net. We set up not far from where you did. Great respect to you both, glad you timed it right and got your fish.

Great cinematography - thanks for taking us along! You guys ROCK!
I really admire how you guys follow local regulations for hunting/fishing. It's done for an environmental purpose and you respect it, every time, even though you don't need to. Kudos!
A few people I have know have not followed the law here in Wyoming and the tickets are huge. $500 or more! Glad my husband also follow the law
Most of us regardless of the state we live in do follow hunting and fishing regulations and then Give back as well.
yeah, if you don't, they'll fine you and take all your gear.
Well yeah you kinda DO need to lol it’s a law not a suggestion.
You don't need to follow regulations? What are we talking about? Are they unconstitutional?

My god ,what a fantastic trip. I'm jealous! Hurry and make another vid, I can't get enough of the two of you. Thanks for taking me fishing in Alaska

I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.

@@Quichebro I hear that! I just have a few plants and a smal yard but I am working my way towards my goal! Hang in there and I’ll hang there with ya!
Beautiful country, nice fish and great ending. Good job guys!
I always love watching your videos. Love seeing you guys fishing together. And harvesting your own food and all. I've been wanting to learn maybe when I get my significant other we will be able to do things like this.
Can't wait to see what you guys do with these fish!
Great catch and so quick!
Eric was epic carrying those salmon up that steep hill!

I admire you guys...you look like navyseals training. Thank you for sharing your journey with us ...your followers. Huge hugs from Colombia
Just went on a tour of Haley Creek with State of Alaska Commissioners. Thanks for being respectful of Ahtna country and showing people the beautiful scenery in Chitina.
Just captivating! The fish, the waterfall and the amazing drone footage! You make it feel like I could be right there!
My relative is working in AK and lives w/ her son. She had local take her to Copper River and taught them how to catch salmon w those nets. They always fished in FL and were so excited to get salmon. She sent this vid to show how hazardous it can be!
What a treat again, thank you for sharing ! Your videos always belong to the highlights of my week !
Just war to say you guys are really blessed to have found a life parter who shares the load and your love of the you have.

I know it's probably a given.. but please tell me you guys are going to make a whole separate video where you process all this fish!? I love these videos so much.. you guys are amazing at documenting these adventures, some of the shots you get are so beautiful.. and your editing is some of my favorite on TH-cam. It's so cool to see how much you guys have grown over the years.. and I'm proud to say that I've been here every step of the way
That will be the next one. Thank you for following ❤
She said it at the end of the video. You must have commented before the video was over.
There's one from last year's harvest.
@@Roheryn100 I already watched all those lol
Alaskans, a different breed of people!!! Most of us, sitting on the couch, watching you ... a different breed, indeed!!! ;-)
Love how you two work so well together and respect each other. Another great video from an amazing couple❣️
What a beautiful (and physically challenging!) life you guys live. I bet your sleep that night was the sweetest you guys have ever had!
Loved last year's copper river trip video and this year's trip was every bit as enjoyable. Thank you both for sharing your lives and adventures with us. Great video.
Sitting here at work 3:53 a.m, watching 13 different screens and jealous as he'll. You guys do it right and are living well
Never tire of these amazing episodes you guys create!
The drone footage was stunning you guys. Thank you for allowing us to visit Alaska with you.
You guys are just killin' it in life!! I don't miss a single video, and my dream would be to live this lifestyle! Great video! Keep them coming!!
You two are a beautiful team. That’s how you make things possible in the remote Alaska. You are adventurous.
