In this Video I restored an Ratchet. I disassembled the ratchet, made a new ratcheting part on the lathe mill and gave the whole body an nice mirror polishing! After reassembling the ratchet works perfectly fine again! - บันเทิง

I remember when first meet your channel you had only 2k+ subscribes and sinse then I started to be Fan of your great work. I'm really glad for meeted Random Restoration and You, and for all the help and faith that you and him puted in my work. About the restoration, I really liked how careful and well finished all parts turned out, you did the cold bluing better then my way hehehe'

The skill of mr patina and my mechanics on here just amaze me, I’ll make a new one then they create the exact same thing from scratch perfect and better than the original I love that we have not totally lost the skill to mend rather than throw away

Previous Videos had unbalanced volume at different times (mainly machines working too loudly)

There’s a lot to love about all your videos! On this I loved the craftsmanship on the lathe, but the proper file technique, and acid into water ( so many people do that backwards on TH-cam and it drives me crazy). I’m truly a fan because people can actually learn from you if they pay attention! Keep the awesome craftsmanship coming you are an asset to the TH-cam community.
Hey man, iam pretty happy to see that you pay so much attention! Adding water to the acid could end up pretty bad, but ive seen that too. Anyways, thanks for your lovely words, I really apreciate!
The saying we used in chemistry class was this; " Do as you outta, add acid to water."
I've never forgotten.
I haven't watched many videos here (I'm new!), but that technical drawing was perfect. I understood the method, the shape of the final product, the joy in the sun, everything.
I need to sit down and watch the backlog some weekend. :D
Also I love sandblasting. If you put out a two hour video of you just sandblasting dirty stuff, I'd watch the whole thing.

Dear Mr Patina. I've watched many of your restorations to my absolute joy. This one that I have just watched reminded me of what an excellent job you do, not just in the restoration, but in the filming, the photography and not least, the magical humour. You take a worn out mechanics tool, and turn it in to a work of art in the visual and physical aspect. The ratchet spanner has also now become an object of beauty. But it always was. You have released that beauty and the design.
There is superb work here at every level. Engineering, film making, photography and story telling.

Looks really good! Wondering though about the bit. I would think the original part was case-hardened, and the new one may wear out very quickly unless it's also hardened.
Youre right here! I shouldve mention that the new part was a drill chuck once, so it was hardened before. Hard to mill, but possible.
@@misterpatina it doesn't look like it was hardened because it seems like you filed that slot hole relatively easy. And what about that little pin? It should be hardened too but it doesn't seem like it is.

Yeah I understand. But it was a massive drill chuck once and that said it was pretty hard. But still millable, so a little bit more hardness wouldn’t have been bad 😉
