  • It has been a while since I uploaded a video about a fish. Today I decided I'd try this new video editor program that I have and maybe try to upload a new video. So, im sorry if the video editing was kind of a bit off.
    Giant Danio is one of the species of fishes that has always fascinated me with their beauty and grace. Scientific name Devario aequippinatus, they are one of the hardiest fish I have ever encountered and taken as a pet. They are easy to find and almost always available in chain fish stores. Sorry if there are moments when I am just repeating what I am saying but I am very excited to finally make a new video with a better video editing system than pause and play.

      I noticed they are not readily available, at least here in europe. I guess it became out of fashion as new species come to the market. It has been a aquarium fish for a long time already. Definetly a wonderful fish and easy to keep.

    I have all those fish in a 240 gallon and can tell you they really like if you get a strong current going. They enjoy the fish treadmill all day long. I also would say-- keep a tight cover on Giant Danios...only lost them from jumping out over the years. No matter how large the tank..they just love to jump.

      Yes ally tanks are planted. I didn't have on clue on how to keep planted tanks. I picked up hints throughout the last year and I have banging tanks. I started out with betta's and live bears. Now I'm moving on to different species. The closest I'll get to having cichlids are Angel fish, which I currently have 4. 2 are being re-homed. There was to much aggressive behavior, and 2 paired off. I do not have tanks to houses the other 2 that they will thrive in. They could live in them yes, but not thrive. I keep a few crypts, some mosses, different java ferns. I have a few different stem plants not sure on names they where not marked at the pet store nor did they have knowledge of plants. I have some unreal banana plants. One is massive it take up half of a 10 gallon tank. Some I grew from bulbs that where randomly given to me, along with seeds bought off of wish,lol. They are growing I doubt they are what they say.

    The Giant Danio is endeed a great fish, very beautyful. I notice that you do not seem to have that much circulation in your tank. The Giant Danio lives in streaming waters and love to stand 'up-stream' to catch any passing food items. Furthermore you might see the males in full bright colour "fight"/provoke each other to establish an picking order. Anyway thank you very much for highlighting this wonderful fish :-)

    Thank you for the information. I just bought a 32.5g tank and want to make it a single-species tank. I think giant danios will be perfect for that as long as they get along with Oto algae eaters.

    1st decent video of giant danios. They are much underrated in the hobby. Sadly I couldn't find any when I was setting up my heavily planted 4ft tank. And they would probably eat it's currant inhabitants.

    I have a question, the tank I had my Danios in it broke so I had to move them to my pond with my goldfish, they were never aggressive with my goldfish or anything, they think they belong with the goldfish since they all swim together on the same time, I tried to move them to a new bigger thank and they barely move so I had to take them to my pond and they have stayed there for 2 years and a half, how can I get them to live into a tank?

    • @fishoutwithjuno
      @fishoutwithjuno  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why do you want them back in the tank? Im pretty sure they enjoy the bigger swinming space in the pond. Is it because its going to get cold to where you are?
