  • The giant dan is personally my favorite schooling fish and one of the easiest and coolest fish you can keep in a freshwater aquarium. Perfect for occupying the top of the water column and hardy as they are and will eat anything makes them a perfect choice for beginners. Hope you guys found this helpful and thanks for watching.

    I started the hobby a year or so ago, and these were my first fish. I got 4 of these along with 4 neon tetras in my 40 gallon and all of them are still alive. Never had an issue with them

    These are truly great fish. I've got 5 with an angel in a 55 gal and no problem. They get a pinkish-grey-blue color that is really attractive. I'll never be without them.

    Absolutely agree with everything you said.
    Giant Danio is easily one of the best aquarium fish out there with no heater needed. I’d have at least 25 in that giant tank, I have seven in a 40 breeder and they school tight.
    The more you have the tighter they school.....
    Have a good day pal.

  • @MakeupMobster
    @MakeupMobster 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    They will not eat jumbo freeze dried shrimp! I just put some in my aquarium cuz I like to switch the food up every once in a while and give them treats. Well I accidentally dumped a few too many in and it freaked them out. The whole school went down to the bottom and wouldn’t come back up to the top, even after I scooped them out!
    I love how your yo-go’s are swimming into the stream of water in your tank! They’re loving it.

    • @EagleAquatics
      @EagleAquatics  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yah that might be to big of a food for them hahaha. Freeze dried shrimp is more for larger fish and they wouldn't be able to eat that as easy as per say flake foods. The danios do love flow also it is fun to watch them swim into the flow. Thanks for the comment.

    • @MakeupMobster
      @MakeupMobster 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eagle Aquatics no problem.mine are acting strange though lately they are swimming at the bottom of the tank. They’re still very active, just staying towards the bottom of the tank.

    • @EagleAquatics

      Thats odd, try putting food on the top and letting it float they might come back up. Good Luck.

    • @EagleAquatics

    Giant danio are my favorite fish to keep I love them . I want some but my 60 gallon is stocked already. 9 rainbows 5 cherry Barb's 2 angelfish 2 Platys 1 swordtail. So I don't think 6/7 would fit . So I'm gonna either get another tank for some or re-home some of my rainbows . Might still not have enough room. I'd like to have 10 of them they are awesome.

    • @EagleAquatics
      @EagleAquatics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Start by setting it low because most heaters are off by a couple degrees. I would start by setting it at 75 degrees then measure the actual temp with a thermometer and adjust accordingly.
