  • In this video, we’re walking around my pit bikes: my 2020 Honda CRF 110 with a few BBR goodies, a 2022 Honda CRF 110 with the Pro Comp front and rear conversion, and my mostly stock 2022 Kawasaki KLX 140 with BBR shock and fork internals.
Each of the pit bikes have their own advantages and disadvantages, and I like each of these bikes for their strengths. If you’re a beginner to the pit bike world and have a smaller budget or are not looking to go into the CRF110 class, I’d recommend starting off with the Kawasaki KLX140. While the CRF 110 is a really cool bike and great for young riders that will fit that size bike and easier to learn to simply ride with the auto shifting, I personally think the KLX 140 is a better beginner bike because that level rider can learn how to use a clutch and shift gears. The KLX also has disc brakes instead of drum brakes.

I love bbr. All I have is their pet mount and IMS. Pegs, and now the bbr rear spring. And the quality is race level strong and clean.

forks are trick but id rather run the bud racing kx65 forks, it doesnt come with a complete kit but it would be much cheaper to purchase those and then run kx65 parts on them.

Can you elaborate on how you mounted the shock reservoir on the inside of the frame rail on that crf?

@@CharlieFererI was wondering the same thing. I’m at a cross roads with my KLX110L stock mod bike. I’m wondering if I should do KX65 forks with disc to run with my BBR swingarm and upgrade to a better shock or if I should go full MX swingarm and inverted forks build

@@ktmracer434 Yes, it is tough because you put a lot more money into the bike.. I have the KLX 140 instead of upgrading the KLX 110. The 140 you get the larger forks and front disc (install BBR springs and heavier weight oil), did the 170 kit, did the rear shock by BBR and that is more fun to ride than the BBR full build. You have a clutch as well so you may want to look at just getting the KLX 140 and way less then doing a full 110 build and having a better overall bike to ride for a "pit bike".

@@ktmracer434 one option is to just get the llx 140. You move to larger forks and disc brake. Just need to do springs from BBR and oil and then do a BBR rear shock spring and you are solid. I also did the 170 kit from BBR and that is now my favorite bike to ride over the BBR CRF 110 build.

@@charlieferer868 I’m sure the KLX140 is a fun bike. If I was looking for that type of bike I’d get it one. I have 9 bikes. 7 full size and then my KLX110L and a CRF125 that I bought for my daughter and girlfriend to have fun on. The CRF125 is perfect for them for the same reasons that you listed about the KLX140. The KLX110 is for for me to fool around on and ride with them. I’d be bored if I was on a big bike riding with them so the 110 pitter makes it fun for me. Since I have it, I would like to consider racing it in pitbike classes and that’s why I’m curious out which mods to do because it’ll determine which class I’m have to enter.

Where did you go to extend the brake lines, and cables?

    • @CharlieFerer

Contact Galfer or for the CRF 110 hit up BBR or Motowhips.

You should do a ttr110 build. No one mods those yet there faster and lighter than the Honda and kawi 110s

I am not a big Yamaha fan even though I own a few larger bikes (YZ 250’s etc). More parts available for the Honda and Kawasaki 110’s so easier to mod. Would be cool to see someone do a full build on a TTR though.
