I`m halfway through this interview and just realised how happy and relaxed I am.
More interviews should be like this....
Of course I`ve been a fan of Elvis from the early days.
I always get my American or older friends with my little jokey-joke, "The one, true Elvis. .... Elvis Costello of course..."
I always say 'The real Elvis'

Sorry, I realize you're speaking of Elvis now. Elvis is everything, Performer, songwriter, the whole works. He is a true Artist in every respect.
Levon didn't actually write all that much, but he was one of the best interpreters of others work. I believe he is the best singing drummer of all time.

Imagine a fan's reaction when a so-called music/culture journalist said that drummer Levon Helm was also a "backup singer" in The Band. That writer was set straight pronto.

I always thought he should have done each new album with new music makers , it does get a bit predictable when it`s the same backing group mostly
