I love how the producer cut to Pete saying "the only time he lost me a bit was when he got into classical music" with EC singing a Countrypolitan version Hot Burrito #1... Classic.

It's a shame about the subsequent fall-out between Elvis and Bruce, even to this day.

@@timothyd9543 Waitaminute- Bruce Thomas hit on McCartney's step-daughter, Heather when she was 17? That would've been back in 1979. Come on, man!

@@timothyd9543 Fair enough, but knowing Bruce's humor and plus the fact that her dad was within hearing range, I seriously doubt that Bruce was really "hitting" on her. He could've said that to her in front of Paul,
just to be 'funny', which is a most-likely scenario. They were definitely on good enough terms when the McCartney/Jackson/Thomas chance-meeting took place at AIR in '82.

@@timothyd9543 -- And even after all that, EC kept him around because he realized this bassist was the best he'd ever find and was perfect for his music. What finally did Bruce in was when he "accidentally on purpose" (his own words) played wrong notes on a US talk show appearance because he was upset at EC over something or other. There's no way a professional musician and bandleader would ever tolerate that from anyone in his group, genius or no genius. So, sadly, BT had to go.

Wow... hadn't seen this before, been a huge long time EC and the Attractions fan. Was so excited to catch them on the "Brutal Youth" tour back in 94 when they played at Irvine Meadows. Since I'm a bassist also, "Bruce Thomas" has always been one of my all-time favorite rock bass players. I nicknamed him "Mr leave no note unplayed" on the account that he's all over the place, his tone (big Botton) and that he always plays some killer grooves. I was surprise to see he wasn't playing a Fender bass at the Irvine show but instead a "Danelectro Longhorn Bass,” rockin' it non the less. Favorite EC albums... 1. "This Years Model" 2. "Armed Forces" 3. "Imperial Bedroom" 4. "Kojak Variety Vol.1" 5. "Spike" 6."Brutal Youth." Thanks for posting the video...

Saw Elvis at UCLA 3 times. Wiltern once, Greek once and the Hard
rock Las Vegas once at one time had over 35 cd's, I'm a big fan since first time I heard "Watching the Detectives" one of the best songs ever IMO. The best song ever is "A Whiter Shade of Pale" RIP Gary and Kieth.

Not a drummer, but especially loved the drumming on one particular track from NYM. Can't remember the name, but it really stood out for me. There was also standout drumming on one track on Love Bites by the Buzzcocks. The drumming in The Police also caught my ear. Blondie had really good drumming too.

Once he established the quality of the music and was able to show that they were more than just a "Punk Band" he should have brought in a proper guitarist who would play like Bruce: leads during the songs as opposed to a set spot where the lead goes.
