    My X from 2016 now only charges to 188 miles of range. When it was new it was getting 256. Both screen panels began leaking last year, and are now oozing reaaally sticky liquid that’s dripping onto the center console slider. Other than that no issues whatsoever. The active spoiler is such an underrated feature. It’s never broken on me. Neither have any of the doors. Car has 173,000 miles (P90DL) and is undergoing a battery replacement under warranty this week!

      Have you drained to battery to as close to 0% then recharge it to 100% to recalibrate it ? To se the actually real range and degradation.

    • @yashuh
      @yashuh ปีที่แล้ว +22

      @@El1ipsismm2 It has virtually zero service history. I think there was a recall on an airbag once and that was it. Only thing ever replaced were the tires and pads were replaced once. Tesla is offering a really good deal to swap the screen to the newest unit. The battery replacement is honored to earlier production cars-it’s unlimited miles, 8 year warranty. The warranty is nontransferable. It’s a really early VIN, in the hundred digits 3xx Signature Series and I ordered it in 2013 and did not think I would get so attached to a car. Free supercharging. Real leather. And I actually love the predictability of the autopilot 1.0 computer.

    • @yashuh
      @yashuh ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@felixarkang5414 The battery is as “neglected” as it gets. I abused the battery charge cycles and recommendations. Always charged to maximum capacity. The degradation you see is likely as bad as it can get.

    Same feelings for my 2017 X but once I got the new 2022 X Plaid it’s a game changer. Range alone is sooooo accurate and shockingly close to the stated range.

  • @MattyMkFly
    @MattyMkFly ปีที่แล้ว +31

    My 2017 X hasn’t really had much degradation after 50k miles. For the range estimate I’m sure it’s already set but make sure you have the 22” wheels selected in the vehicle profile in the cars settings app. My trips are almost always dead on accurate but in Washington state I don’t really get to push up against 90mph.

    Great long term review! We have a 7-seat Model Y, and while the back seat isn’t good for adults, it definitely works for anyone under 5 feet tall, especially if you’re in a pinch. We use the back row a few times a month and for us it has been worth it!

    I got my wife the MX100D back in 2017. For the wow factor it was the best car we had. However, it felt too large for UK roads and I was always terrified of the falcon wing doors. Swapped to a M3P and MYLR and very happy with them. Feel the right balance.

    Two weeks ago I bought a 2017 100 D model X and I am fully loving it, the only thing that I need to do to it is upgrade the MCU chip to MCU 2 and for the price they replace both of your infotainment screens. Also have the 22 inch wheels and it looks like when I charge to 100% my range is about 270 versus the announced 295 when I first came out. Thanks for the video. This car is a gem from Tesla.

      The yellow border is caused by some glue beneath the screen and can be fixed by taking the car to Tesla. They use a UV light/treatment on the screen overnight and it reduces the yellowish border. This is a completely free service appt. But overtime the yellow border may return.

    Some other good electric cars rather than Tesla are the EQS which just started manufacture, and the EQE. I think the EQB also did but not fully sure. The only thing was that my dad didn’t like how the front and the exterior looked, so he got the refresh model X which comes in two weeks from now. Something else that my parents look forward to is he EQG (electric g wagon) which they are thinking of getting as a “weekend” car in the future.

But since I live in Europe, I heard the delivery is going to take really long and I heard from other TH-cam and couple of friends of mine that the tesla build quality is one of the worse on cars today. So instead I bought a Volvo XC90 Recharge. Can you shine some light on the overall quality, like how the cars been holding up till 90.000 miles.

    In Germany the AP works in all teslas, even the M3's and MY's without radar, up to 150kph (93mph). Sad point: The standard cruise control, that just holds your speed is also limited to 150 - while all the other cars as Audi, vw, BMW but even the Americans as ford go up to 200kph...

    • @b127_1
      @b127_1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@b127_1 Well, no one needs a cruise control that can be set to 200 in a car, thats not faster than 150 - but a cruise control that cannot be set higher than 150 in a car, that can do more than 220kph does not make sense either. VW does it right: The highest setting for the cruise control is 180 - matching the maximum speed of the id vehicles…

      I mean who uses cruise over 150 anyway?
      I find the cruise feature only convenient for restricted Autobahns. So mainly outside of Germany.
      In Germany you just drive as you're comfortable and depending on traffic, rarely at a constant speed.

    • @HendrikFinke
      @HendrikFinke ปีที่แล้ว

      @@daniel_960_ Sure, but I drove from Munich to Bremen few days ago through the night - and I drove around 180 most of the time since I was nearly alone all the time. And yes, I used cruise control and I think I just disabled it 3 or 4 times on that 780km Trip (apart from Speedlimits forcing me to slow down, I meant other cars forcing me to slow down.)
      And since Tesla is no delivering Tesla Vision to everyone, even everyone who has a radar sensor built-in, they are reducing the AP to 140 km/h....

    The cello? Just open one side of the backseat right? This is where a bench seat in front would have been nice.

    "i would give it a 10/10, besides the issues that make this thing literally undrivable (charging and range)" lol.

    The range estimates on the model x is very inaccurate, my 75d i can't even have confidence for LA daily driving because of the range issues i can only get 110 mi on full charges which shows 209 on my dash. Even 110 mi is not even accurate because sometimes it just drop 5 mi all of sudden when I only drive 1 miles . But tesla refused to check my battery or replacement they cailm it was actually normal

      I’m looking to buy a 75D.
      What’s your opinion on your purchase with the range.? Did you buy it directly from Tesla or third party? On the site it states 237 miles of range for the 75D.

    Well, as time passes the battery degrades and the algorithm in the car isn't design to be based on the degraded battery.

    10:14 did every single house need to be white and nearly exactly the same? Are these all custom builds or did one contractor build each plot together?

      I think white is better color for houses that are built in places that have lot of sunshine.
