I had a cutout on my 02 TransAm H/C 6 speed I did closed and open dyno same session Gained 8whp and 8tq to wheels At the track i picked up 1 mph and shaved about .1 off my quarter mile time Cheap and easy upgrade
I love this concept. I only have two small questions: - Lets say its installed behind the muffler (as one would expect). Does this have an impact on the power curve? (Of course it depends on the muffler and so on) - Is it totally bogus having the thought of having two different mufflers in the exhaust system, with the cutout in between?
To all below. I sold my ride but can tell you the details. The QTP Electric Cutout was placed just before the rear axle on the bend of the extension tube from the Y-pipe after the SLP Long tube headers. I did not have a chance to place on a dyno after I installed it, so not sure what it did to performance [if anything]; I did not install it for performance - just the awesome sound. Combined with the GM Performance HOT Cam - I think I achieved what I was looking/listening for.
it is a Mechanism that allows you to switch between a normal exhaust sound and a downpipe/open pipe sound. i am not sure about this; a downpipe also has less resistance which means more power?
Actually, he put it in front of the cats, so yes, it would pass EMMISIONS open or closed. Although, noise might be what fails the inspection. Just close it during inspection though.
Perhaps you can put a concern to rest I have had before I install it on my v8 audi s4, Did you notice ANY chance in stock exhaust noise with the valves CLOSED, was there a leak at all, even a slight one? Thanks a ton, Id really appreciate some advice. I like them in concept but Im still on the fence and dont want to ruin my "sleeper", I just wanna be able to open them up whenever a ricer is around to embarass him lol.
Then the car in question must have had pretty crummy exhaust to begin with. I know people who run these at the dragstrip on cars with good exhaust systems and their e.t. gain is usually negligible overall. On cars with restrictive exhaust systems I've seen a few tens gain which isn't bad. Not sure it's worth the expense imo as these electric versions usually cost as much or more than a decent set of mufflers, but it is pretty darn cool to go from mellow to loud with the flip of a switch.
sirve para have riudo y a los gases del monoxido de carbono tengan major flujo al expulsarlos realmente en teoria es para q el motor expulse los gases quemados sin tener restriction del mofle
no there is someone who did just that actuallly there is a video of a 350 chevy with a small exhaust that dumps into a larger one. he has cats and everything on the small one and he dumps into straight pipes
i am thinking about doing this to my car. i wanted straight piping but it's not legal here in Denmark.. this is not really either but i could do a version where i can take it out for vehicle inspections.... if i don't care about the power, but just want a better (louder) sound, would this work?
Hiccebelle13 Well technically if you close the cutout when a cop pull you over, you shouldn't have any problem, but you'll need to take it off if you have to pass the vehicle inspection.
I got it one my Infiniti G35 2004 its awesome sound like beast but will increase fuel consumption and decrease engine power of the car after is switched to open side
if your car is stock it will decrease power you need a litle backpreshure correct me if im wrong i have this on my 2jz 3 inch piping and at the end 2.5 inch for back preshure an a litle silence open it when racing work like a charm for my setup
rody rast Well I'm not him but I as well might answer about the back pressure, no you don't need it.The reason why too big of an exhaust looses power is that it actually gives you more back pressure.A simplified explanation to this is, you need a diameter of exhaust that keeps the velocity of exhaust gases high enough on the correct rpm range for your engine, this way the exhaust pulses help draw the following pulses out of the exhaust.2-strokes need back pressure, 4-strokes don't.
Any gains would be marginal at best. This isn't exactly an ideal flow situation with that ugly 90 degree outlet. Sometimes turbulence with an open pipe hurts more than a well designed full exhaust system. This is cool and all but it's mostly for the sound.
Roll up to a civic in my tahoe and rev not to loud they rev there rice cannon and pop this loose and then rev up and look the other way be like damn theres a cop next to me
RemoteHelper is WRONG - the cut-out was installed AFTER the Y-Pipe on the extension tube and the CATS were attached to the long tube headers and YES it passed emissions with no problems - of course the cut was closed via a remote controlled switch installed in the console. Legal or not, who gives a shit - they were cool and the quality I experienced was fantastic. Must have been a poor installer on the install for all else remarks on "poor quality"
no officer I have no idea why people are saying my truck is loud your sitting right next to it....lol
This is your daily dose of Recommendation
Brum!
That's freaking awesome!!!
When the cut out is open it sounds like: hungeerrr hungeerrrr hungeerrr xD
My dad had one of those on his Indian Chief motorbike back in the 60's.
great sound
Great Sound.
Thanks for the education!
I need this for my camaro
*_I need this for my Civic!_*
*_Before someone takes this too seriously... it’s a joke..._*
It will at 15 hp
sick!
0:25 обожаю этот звук. I like this sound

Oh man... that's gnarly. I wonder how this sounds on a V6 Camaro?

I'm gonna get one for my Supercharged Mustang
does the cut out turn on your check engine light when you have it open throughout the day?
Cutouts are not illegal texas i have some !
oh shit hell yeah.
do you still have your cats on in front of your cutout?
@Chris02LS1ss im sure you cant. But you could make it bolt in. Then swap it out when you go for emissions.
yo that thing is still mad loud with the valve closed!
where you purchased this exhaust valve? can send me the link? Thank you.
Hey bro what exhaust system is this
Could you try and get a picture of exactly where this cutout is placed and send it to me? Id greatly appreciate it.

buenísima modificacion
Cool.
a question, the point of placement of this device, is before the last silencer?
it is a Mechanism that allows you to switch between a normal exhaust sound and a downpipe/open pipe sound. i am not sure about this; a downpipe also has less resistance which means more power?
Can I put one of these on a Yukon Xl??
Bom trabalho irmão parabéns

Are they legal in VA. ? can they pass state inspection?
got that shit on my 2006 A4, it sounds freaking amazing.
I can assure you, your shit 4 cylinder does not sound amazing
@@cloudk2030 lmao
@@cloudk2030 lol what does K20 in your named stand for? I hope it’s not a Honda engine.
Where did you get it installed? Someone had told me that you do it in a muffler shop, I Gussie they have to weld something, is that true?
Hey man, is this dipositive automatic or you can open/close whenever you want?
had you have any leaking or anyother problems??
the sound would be totally worth it lool. you would sound like a damn nascar.

DOES IT MAKE POWER LOSS ?
how much did this cost?
Tenho que colocar uma dessa no meu Monza.
I am so ganna do this :D
I'm wondering the same thing haha!
no there is someone who did just that actuallly there is a video of a 350 chevy with a small exhaust that dumps into a larger one. he has cats and everything on the small one and he dumps into straight pipes
then why sold the car?
Is it worth it tho?
sorry....what`s it excatly for????
im going to put this on my camaro.its not smog legel so need to put stock exhaust back on
@theawsomenessatitsbe Are you sure of this bro ? Cause I wanted to get one for my mustang.
470 hp ? Mods please)
I want this but on a Kenworth W900. That way I can go full Jake when someone cuts me off

Doesn't it affect the back pressure though?
Back pressure is a myth!
@Chris02LS1ss doubt it
Where can I buy one of these? :O
Amazon
Homina Homina Homina
эх, на копейку бы поставить =)))
i need dat.
Tune required when open ?
The Computer won't like that
Not if installed after the cats.
I guess that would depend on the engine but probably. I guess its for show, not a performance increase.
Keep it quiet in town and open it up on the track or in less populated areas

David B yes that is what I thought. I'm gonna do it. Will be a nice project. :)
Hiccebelle13 Hey tbh u don't really have to take it off to pass they won't look at it they get listen to the car
+Hiccebelle13 might be popping in late here but if u just want the sound are cherry bombs legal there is so thats a easy thing to do
Charles Rodriquez interesting. I'll definitely look into it! Thanks :)

Why is that shape looks like a rotary?

@@HGChannel2020 ? Some shaped like a circle and oval
Quiero 2 para llevar! jajajaja! Nice!
How do u like them I am thinking about buying the same ones..are they wireless and are they behind or before the cats
Only way a 470hp LS1 will pass emissions is if it is turned off the entire time.
What's the point of this?
Definately keep it open lol
ayuda más Torque en la tracción

Those will end up leaking.
They already are. You can see it at 00:11.
love the idea, but don't want the leak!
