1. *NEVER BUY MYSTERY BOXES.*
2. *Give $1,500 to a friend and let them buy singles on your behalf from a shop* (emphasis on older cards: CP, TP, Ulti’s, Trophy Cards etc). That way it’s an educated friend buying good singles, and it’s still a surprise for you and the video.
I only buy mystery boxes is they have a description that lists what it'll have.
Like 1 random sealed box, x random structure decks, ect.
Where there's still Random element but also some level of control
That was such a scam. It's so sad to see people doing this type of stuff. Especially to someone like you who really represents all of us. What I'd like to see in a 1300 dollar mystery box myself is just a bunch of packs. Unscaled packs from a variety of sets. Because at least the packs (if they are legit sets and not BP or Monster League) would be worth it whether you pull good cards or not. Seeing a bunch of absolutely hammered commons, rares, and a few foils is really sickening. I bought a mystery lot off of eBay for 100 bucks that had 20 packs in it. I pulled a ghost rare Ra and a ultra rare 1st edition Toon BLS. That's what makes a mystery product worth it to me.
The seller does mystery pack lots, and I've bought them twice and pulled amazing and not so good. But the packs are legit unmapped and unscaled. Even the legacy packs were unscaled and they weren't even in blisters. I'd like to see you try your luck on one of his bigger mystery boxes. He has 25 50 75 100 200 500 and 750 value. You should try the 500. You'd essentially get 100 packs unless they are epic vintage shit.

@@Ruxin34 I’d err on the verge of caution and make sure you don’t promote the seller just to be safe. I don’t want to be a negative Nancy but Dylan could have connections to the seller or be the seller them-self. If the seller catches wind that you’re buying from them, they could seed the packs for you and mislead the viewers to get more sales. That ultimately defeats the purpose of this content then as there is bias involved.
The DDS Dark Magician was literally worth more than all the other cards in the collection...combined! lol

So technically you could probably get your money back by opening a dispute with eBay over the mystery box, as on going back to view the exact listing from the video they specifically mentioned the box containing (ultimate rates, plural) and since there was only a singular one in the entire box it may give you a bit of a loophole to get your money back due to false advertising on the sellers part.

Honestly these aren't bad cards. But the main issue besides having tons of commons is the fact that NONE of these are competitive viable unless you play GOAT format..
As a GX and DM era player, I mean this whole box is a dream come true. Not so much for collectors but for fans of the TV show growing up, this is everything you could ask for.
honestly, most of the time I see these mystery boxes or random card lots, I mark it up as a likely scam. Although I have never seen anyone open a $1200 one before, lol. Nice video, I enjoyed it and now we know what to expect. :) But hey, at least you can build a nice E-Hero deck with all those elemental heroes and support cards XD
3:20 I have those grey Konami sleeves since childhood. Apparently they are really really rare. Especially since they don't look damaged. Their were 3 different colors and came in the OG Pegasus box that looked similar to the Noble Knight one.
3:30 those sleeves are worth a TON of money, they're the OG sleeves. I'm pretty jealous of those!

Geebus Christ, this video is beyond upsetting, really makes me wonder! I am a eBay seller, who only sells high priced singles from Yugioh and Pokémon. I’m not a crazy scalper who’s re-selling entire items, I LOVE opening packs and then using my biggest pulls to sell and then use that money to open more packs!
But based on these scandalous people selling BULK mystery boxes… like damn I could FILL a 1500 card box with JUST super rares and crap ultra rares, so these people selling these boxes are even worse than that! Man If I sold my bulk for prices like that, I’d Probably make more than selling Starlight rares! This is FUCKED
I agree that it is usually NOT a good idea to buy these sort of mystery boxes since you really do not know what you are getting and the worse part is you do not know the conditions of the cards. Also, I feel that most "mystery boxes" in general are just a convenient way to dispose of unneeded stuff so yeah, I hope you get your money back Rux in some form in future openings like a chase card or Starlights, Ultis, Ghosts, etc. :D
What I think that sellers thought process was in a nutshell. They had like 10 okayish value cards (mainly the dds DM), and was like “I’ll throw in a bunch of commons and value them all at 1 dollar.” Then some of the foils they probably valued at 5-10 and that made the $1200. That’s what it seems like to me at least. Orrrrr they were just straight up being scammers. Either wouldn’t surprise me at this point.

It's sad because that bulk is something I would buy. But people want so much for it. Cool they put in at least 1 or 2 cards that were worth something but the whole lot would be like $300 total considering the blue eyes and be left with mostly junk. Great video!

I think the most embarassing thing about this isnt about not getting your money's worth, but paying a four digit sum to purchase fake Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

People always fail at these "Grab Bags" Mystery Boxes" the bottom should ALWAYS be 75-100% of cost with potential to be more, as a means of moving slower moving items. If you are under 75% of cost, you are seriously doing it wrong.

Wow that was by far the biggest scam mystery box I’ve seen and I’ve seen quite a few of them opened, sorry that you had to take the bullet for all of us but thnxs also and even if you don’t want to put the seller on blast you should definitely leave a review or something. No one should be buying anything from that seller ever, and you would be saving people from wasting their money 💰.

Sheesh. I recently bought a box of Maximum Gold El Dorado and only got a couple of cards that I liked. The others were mostly junk to me (though mostly because I either don't care for the archetype and don't plan on building a deck with it, or I don't like the aesthetic of the art or design, and so I plan on trading them for something I like more). And that was just spending $30 but getting probably around $10 worth of cards I plan on keeping.

ik this was a major loss in value but you did skip over a rare destiny hero dasher in the video that has some value due to destiny hero phoenix enforcer (hopefully spelt that name right) thats coming out in November and people are mainly using destiny hero dasher as one of the materials for said fusion monster and again i know this was a major loss on the mystery product just thought i mention it

That was the absolute worst buy for a mystery box. There was very few cards worth considering of course, but the legitimacy of these boxes are mostly scam by people who don't know the value of the cards.
