I still can't believe Stolas went from the planned main antagonist to the main love interest and most delevoped character by far. I like that Blitz and Stolas are so similar that they both want genuily to be loved but either never had people who seemed to care for them (looking to their fathers) and they there lonely in the past. Stolas being married to Stella and trying to make that work stopped him from meeting other people. They also both care about their daughters the most. If they rebuild their relationship, it would be a good if they bond other this similarities and strengthen their relationship.

I just now realised what Stolas' remark meant when they were kids. Blitz introduced a game he never knew before and Stolas excitedly asked if it were an imp's game because at that age he didn't know anything about them, but still felt like he was closer to them than he was to his own family.
(Also, I am still convinced their last conversation as kids was a spoiler and that Stolas will end up losing his title and working for Blitz)

And to think the Stolas heartache isn’t even over this season because we still have to deal with more of the fallout with Octavia and the fact Stolas has both been shielding her from the truth and that he’s been unintentionally hurting her when stuck in his own head.🥺🥺🥺
I still remember the comment I placed on a poll on this channel talking about Octavia's role. Because of the situation with Stolitz, Octavia has been horribly effected by it and after the episode "The Circus" we see that Octavia is basically insurance for the Goetia family as her birth was ordered by Paimon. In hindsight, neither parent wanted to have a child, sure Stolas loves her now, but given his actions I'd say that's debatable as he always puts Blitzo first.
As I said in comment on the poll, I'd say Octavia is going to snap at this point, in the trailer we literally hear her saying "You never loved mother and you don't love me, you love him!" that tells me Octavia is finally going to put her foot down, tell Stolas off, and rebel in her own way. In all episodes with Octavia, it's the same plot line: We get a flashback with Stolas and Octavia, Stolas ignores her, Octavia runs away, and the 2 make up. It's going to get old and I'd imagine her patience wearing thin.
Plus the show keeps TELLING us that Stolas is a good dad, yet in what we are SHOWN, it says otherwise, remember, actions speak louder then words.
I ended up writing that Octavia video, it should be out sometime this week!

Yeah i relate to stolas's desire for love, and shock at seeing the person fantasize hurting him, despite everything he gave, out of boredom/ legit 2024 psychopathic boredom/desires / entertainment / immaturity / 15 yr old edgy teenage pint attitude.
But he's definitely kinda a horny bird who fills a void left without love with oblivious lack of attention to the called hits like it's tuesday, and puts dreams over reality as his life falls apart and his coping method is denial / high on that serum. Drinking.
I think tbh, I think stolas with the right partner probably wouldn't have gotten broken. Maybe needy, maybe put off, maybe socialized a bit more. It's his 2nd relationship and he's book smart, relationship naive. But if he found a person who loved him, had chemistry, and mutual interest.
It'd be hard to say no to a hot bird with a cruel to kind heart, potential to change, guard anyone, and magic powers who listened quickly to feedback and although a sharp demeanor, wanted to seemingly make the ones he cared about happy.
That said, his daughter gets left behind in the mud to deal with a broken mode as Stolas, desperately looking for love in a unloved relationship, leaves his daughter with potential killers to go sub to a literal killer imp who attempted to strangle him on a 'first date".
Yeah as I said in a comment Blitz and Stolas are opposites when it comes to how they treat their daughters: Blitz always puts Loona first, even giving her his bedroom while he sleeps on the couch and whenever he’s given a choice between prioritizing Stolas or Loona he always chooses Loona. Stolas by contrast always chooses his feelings for Blitz and his job over Octavia. And you’re right part of that is that Blitz wanted a child, even if it was just a hellhound, while Stolas only fathered Octavia due to Paimon’s orders.

When you think about it how he build his adult life and used pills and alcohol as a way to cope and deal with his issues even if it meant it would hurt him more later on he’d still continue. And I remember it being mentioned that the voice actor Bryce say he was ashamed of Stolas addictions during a convention. Looking back I can’t imagine how much stolas truly endured with the people that were in his life and no one to care or talk to him so that he could let it all out. Just enduring and bottling it up which could also explain him not wanting to cry in front of people😔

Even Stolas, who is a high ranking demon and one of the most powerful characters in Helluva Boss can suffer the trauma as well especially because of Paimon being pretty neglectful and Stella being an abusive wife to Stolas. All he wanted was someone to actually love and care for him. He's still a good father to Octavia though.🥺💕

I agree that Hell is the worst place to live, but only for the souls of the mortals that end up there. For hellborn demons life in Hell is not so different than humans' lives on Earth.

Hm, I would believe that the news somehow got away or paparazzies who are hellbent on getting some scoop from the royal clans - just like how a tabloid exposed Ozzie and Fizz's relationship. Also, everyone basically know that Stolas is having an affair with Blitz (and Stolas isn't really hiding it intentionally like Ozzie did before), so their relationship is basically open to anyone's information. So even if Stolas didn't make a big deal abt, it's something other ppl would wanna go after and chug the tea out of it. (Also remember when Ozzie also publicly exposed their relationship problem in his lounge, ft. verosika - and also verosika might have been stalking blitz affairs so she also gets the front news who were the exes and when they became an ex).

My theory is Stolas’s butler Pringles spilled the tea. He would have heard the Full Moon confrontation (and he had to clean the fridge when Stolas crawled inside it), and we saw from “Ozzie’s” that he hangs with her crew.
There is more blame in being incapable of expressing love than in desperately wanting to be loved.

To Blitz's credit, Stolas did act very, very sexually in most of their interactions during season 1, so of course Blitz saw nothing but a horny rich guy. It's a well established fact that Stolas is painfully unaware that he is way more powerful and higher ranking than Blitzo, and his way of affection was... well... a bit belittling? Condenscending? He didn't even tell Blitz what to expect from the talk and did not even know what he was expecting himself. So Stolas has a lot of responsibility in this relationship.
I feel like the first episode of season 2 explains why Stolas is like that though like at least it gave me a different

This is actually also part of what Marx wrote about actually, that the wealthy suffer too in Hierarchal systems. Confined to specific roles in life and groomed into positions they don't want to be in, while being isolated from forming healthy human connections with those around them. The conclusion being that while the wealthy of course are greedy and feed off lower classes, they're ultimately just taught to do that and are stuck in the very same system the rest of us are stuck in.
I'm kinda happy that Viv has taken this more nuanced approach to the royalty of Hell. It's not necessarily the royalty themselves that are the core problem of Hell, it's the concept of Royalty itself that's hurting everyone, including a Prince like Stolas. People like Paimon, Andrealphus, or Mammon wouldn't exist if they weren't given the incentive to do the things they do.

Out of everything that has happened throughout these videos, let's not forget about that one scene in the trailer where blitz is protecting stolas in some way

There's nothing specific about hell itself that makes existance suck to be there, it's only other people who do.

You touched on the fact that the Hell setting is just a means for which Viv can work out specific ideas that we experience as humans. And thats the thing. The effects we see that Blitz has had on all his Exes indicates that somewhat normal relationships are the expected even in Hell. That these other demons were still reeling after all this time just indicates that its not just being in Hell that lead to Stolas and Blitz being in the condition they are. Both are the result of very specific family conditions. One of excess and one of desperation. The excess of power lead Stolas' family to be very controlling as a means to maintaining that power. This is the problem of power. You do not get to maintain that power without being controlled by the power. And conversely the desperation of poverty and need can drive a family to horrible actions in order to survive. Viv in both Helluva and Hazbin is exploring the extremes that various settings can apply to the human condition. Which is why in neither show do they actually delve into matters of sin in depth or punishment. Instead in Hazbin we see the actions that lead to Sir Pentious eventually being "redeemed" were essentially a form of therapy treating his Social Anxiety Disorder, Trust Issues, and lack of Socialization Skills. In both series the characters problems are mental health issues. With some characters being the result of environmental issues with others likely being neurological issues. And then Viv takes all these broken characters and stirs them into the pit and plays out how they will interact and hopefully help each other through.
It's good to look at both perspectives of these people because it gives a better idea of why these things happen to them. I don't understand why people just dislike helluva boss when it's super important to us people to learn many things. You did an amazing job at this review, good work ❤
I just realized something the relationship blitz and stolas has with each other is similar to the relationship they have with their fathers blitz only gave stolas any attention when he was obligated to just like paimon and cash buckzo made his love transactional just like stolas did with the book

I have a concern to address here: How will the current state of the relationship between Blitz and Stolas impacted Octavia and Loona now? From the look of it, Octavia looked at Loona like a big sister she always needed and wanted but now that the relationship between their fathers a mess? I don't know that Octavia will even wanted to talk to Loona at this point or not. Sure, she most likely does not blame her but if Loona said what Octavia clearly didn't want or like to hear at the moment due to bow much in pain she is emotionally and mentally, it could make things worse for both of them.
Personally, this is the episode where Stolas stopped feeling like a fictional character and he got just a bit too real and too relatable for my emotions.
Fun little detail: both Blitz and Stolas's fathers were voiced by Jonathan Freeman, Jafar himself

I love the fact that we had this episode, cause if you notice his very more dramatic than usual.
And is necessary we have this kind of episode, it helps with story telling, and character development, like what happen here,
with characters like Blitz, having showing us a new layer, of his own personallity and depth, one we havent explored before, others like Verosika, that we havent known basically nothing at all, or even Stolas, now really knowing what he craves of Blitz, in the case more clearly than before. Overall was one of the best episodes of the 2nd season (in my opinion of course) TY I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL

It will be cool to see Paimon back at the court of Goetia and the Sins. It is also interesting to know how he will treat Stolas with his situation: will Paimon be disappointed and despise his son, or will he be neutral towards him?
I wonder if Vivienne will leave it as canon that Paimon is one of Lucifer's close servants? If this is in the series, I think he is currently living in the Ring of Pride.
And also, I wonder which of the demons of the Lesser Key of Solomon could be his children, besides Stolas? He took on several guises before becoming an owl (i.e. his main appearance here may remain canon - a man with a woman's face on a camel). This means that he conceived other children in other forms:
Dragon - Bune or Astaroth
Goat, elephant and flying eye - unknown (since there are no demons with such appearance in Goetia). The eye can be a Sallos (it is sometimes depicted as a "floating head"
Dog/Wolf - Naberius, Glasea-Labolas, Marchosias or Aamon (who is in Charlie's contacts)
Bird - Vassago (it would be funny if he and Stolas are brothers), Aamon, Ipos, Naberius, Halfas, Malphas, Raum (which lit up in the trailer), Chax, Kamio, Murmur or Andras

I've been thinking about an alternative scenario: what if Blitz, instead of accidentally setting the circus on fire, runs away instead? Immagine it like this: when Cash gives Fizz the card, Blitzo stays frozen in delusion with one hand holding the flower and letter and the other holding the marquee open. Then the cake guy passes throught it saying "Thanks pal" but not with very much care; that wakes Blitzo from his trance and, since the way he said it only worsened his emotional state, decides to step away still carring the letter and flower. However, on his way, he runs into other circus perfomers heading his way which involuntarly bumbs into him but not caring very much about it; when the last also involuntarly does that, Blitzo loses the balance and falls to the ground. He stay like that for a while, tears coming down his cheeks, until another perfomer comes by him and asks "You ok?"; and when Blitzo says "Yes" while sobbing a bit, the performer makes his way to the tent where the party is taking place. Blitzo, after getting up, realizes that if he stays here, no one will actually pay attention to him epxect his mother, twin and bff/crush plus, motivated by the fact that he doesn't fit in the circus as a perfomer, he hates taking advantage of Barbie and Fizz to save his numbers, the fact that his crush might see him more like a brother than a live interest the fear to hurt in anyway the three persons he loves the most, he decides to ran away. After the party is over, he waits for everyone to go to sleep and when they do, he pacs all of his things, goes to his mother's, twin's and crush's room, giving them a kiss on the forehead but making sure he doesn't wake them up, the he leaves a note saying "I can't do this anymore, I feel like no one in here. You're all better of without me" written in his style with a caricature of his face with eyes closed, frown and teary and leaves the circus holding in a trasparent bag with zip the letter and flower meant for Fizz.
That's right: no fire, Blitz and Fizz don't get their burnmarks and he doesn't loose his horns and limbs and Tilla doesn't die. I wanted to ask because I was thinking of writing a fanfic on the helluverse centered around Blitz and his lying issue (if you think about it, he hasn't told his daughter, employees, bed friend and ex girlfirend about the fire at the circus) inspired by Joker's Arthur Fleck's story. Since you seem like someone who really catched up both the lore and the character's arcs, I thought about asking you about this hypotetical scenario: if it had happened, what would Tilla's, Barbie's and Fizz's roles in the story be? Would Blitz still work for and enter a relationship with Verosika? How about M n M, Loona and I.M.P? Will it still happen? I'd like to hear anwsers from someone like you in the community since some of your videos like the one where you talk about how for many in Hell the only way to be happy is to take advantage of others either by lying or enslaving them, inspired me. I'll wait any personal awnsers.

1. As far as I can tell, Paimon seems to only get involved so long as his duties as a goitia require him to. Emotional support isn't part of his duties.
2. I need to see the interaction between Stella and Octavia because Stella is an abusive person. I can only imagine her spending hours ranting to Via about Stolas being useless and unloving.

Ya want a fun topic? Here's one I came across recently: The Theory that Loona is an abandoned daughter of Paimon. Evidence put forth is the similarities between Loona and Stolas's magic, that One of Paimon's forms utilizes Canines, and that if true it'd be a MLP reference to Princess Luna.
idk it kinda put it in perspective on how much more work stolas has to put into improving himself before being with blitz when blitz said,“why would you even want to be with me” stolas response wasn’t like asmodeous when fizz pulled out his mangled horns and he named everything he loved about him, it was more self centered “I don’t wanna be alone” “I want to feel wanted by someone” I want to be someone’s someone” and don’t get me wrong that’s an okay outlook to have but that just isn’t healthy and it would never ever last in the long run

As a small child Stolas it was sad, but as an adult we can't pretend that the owl doesn't have responsibility over his own actions
@@seeleunit2000Fr, people in the fandome who say "poor Stolas" and all of that, are blinded because he is their favorite character, when Stolas wasn't hearing Blitzo out, didn't give him time to process things, and even gurt Blitzo in emotional ways in S1 at least. Which is kind of why I don't really care for this ship, I don't hate it but I prefer other ships over this one like Millie and Moxxie or Fizz and Ossie. Stolas is not a kid people he is a demon adult who made stupid decesions, but that doesn't mean he needs to be babied.

Reality is both are awful, and therapy and talking should at the very least make things clearer, but we know Viv won't do that because we wouldn't get 4 seasons if that happens so. We shall see.

Just because I sympathize with his plight and give him a pet name doesn’t mean that I don’t understand his flaws and that he needs to be held accountable. I don’t simp for anyone, in the long run they both need to address their own issues apart from one another to grow as individuals before even thinking about starting a relationship. I simply have a lot empathy for Stolas for being in an arranged marriage with a gender he is not attracted to and forced to procreate with.
the funny thing is it's so complicated, yet it seemed like a shared experience. for me personally, I have great parents and a great home. I have a relationship with my mom that a lot of people my age, teens don't have. yet I'm still touch and attention-starved person who will take anything I'm given. it's funny how different we all are yet how similar our experiences can. that's why Stolas is so popular, he's relatable to people like me. we're all toxic sad people who just want someone to love us. well darn this turned into a mini-vent 😐

Stolas was f*cked with social relationships sense the beginning even worse then Blitzø because at least Blitzø had friends growing up, Fizz, Barbie- just Other people in his life. Personally I do love how they explored how Blitzo pushes away people who try to love him but I kinda wish that they had addressed the fact that Stolas isn't exactly an angel in this situation either seeing as how their relationship started due to the fact that he used his portal to the human world as leverage to force Blizto into his life.
Maybe because Stolas already realized and acknowledged that himself? After a year of the fandom largely only blaming him despite the fact that he was used first and his facade of a happy life was shattered because Blitzo jumped out the window right into Stella and ratted him out, I'm actually glad the focus has been on Blitzo and the impact he has on people due to his trauma.
Stolas may not have been blameless, but he also had his moment to reflect and change pretty much on his own with no support, no friends, and no one to try and be nice to him.

You know, I've seen a LOT of videos talking about the recent two episodes of Helluva Boss, but all of them seemed....very...ehh? Like they attacked Stolas for being perceived as a victim and seemed to think that social power was the only factor. (Even tho Blitz is a much more experienced partner, compared to the guy who never got to date anyone EVER).
This is the ONLY video that's actually addressed both the fact the Stolas had been written FIRST as an antagonistic character and then as a love interest, that power in a relationship is complicated and isn't JUST social class. And that he has been experiencing abuse and neglect. The worst thing about it is that once someone tells you to go away, or to stop. Or walks from you you are supposed to RESPECT that want for distance. Blitz's unwillingness to do so, and constant attempts at fighting/fucking him is at this point harassment.
Now does that mean Stolas is BLAMELESS? No, he needs to genuinely become aware of the real social differences between him and others, because you can over power over someone without ever knowing it.
It's nice just having a video ACTUALLY talking about both the in world reasons for their behaviour, and the direction of the show, how Blitz learned he has to earn his way to affection/attention and how Stolas learned that he is not worthy of it.
Personally, I was not a fan of the writing at all in Full Moon and Apology Tour, mostly because of how often the dialogue felt forced to ensure the misunderstandings and breakup. Maybe not as bad as Shrek's and Fiona's misunderstanding in the first Shrek movie, but certainly within spitting distance of being that bad.
I'm going to be charitable, however, and assume two things:
#1: Stolas has been such a moronic hypocrite thus far because the writers cared enough to give them each their own character exploration episode.
#2: This is all just setting things up for the season finale.
Here are my expectations for the season finale:
#1: Striker dies.
#2: Blitzo comes to the rescue, not because Stolas is still in danger, but because he finds out that Octavia is a potential target as well.
#3: Going into Season 3, Blitzo and Stolas will at least be back on speaking terms now that they know one thing they have in common is how much they want to be better fathers to Loona and Octavia than Paimon and Cash Buckso ever were to them.
I can picture Blitzo and Stolas having a relationship less like that of the described rom-com and more like the one Danny Tanner had with "Uncles" Jesse and Joey in Full House, IE: completely absent of affection but held together out of sheer family devotion.

Sir, I give you high applause. This examination is wonderfully on point. In fact, I hope it offers a merit to continue Helluva Boss. If it takes 4 Seasons to complete a Stolas arc, and there are 72 Goetia, we should truly strive for a series of 300 Seasons, because "a boss" doesn't have to be IMP or Blitzo forever, it could be any group of hellish denizens who themselves reflect upon humanity much the same way The Simpsons or Archer does.
