I had a bone bruise on the side of my foot and needed meds. Got healed and bought new tennis shoes and they still hurt my feet. When I played tennis my foot went numb and that bruise came back. I tried your parallel lacing method and it fixed the issue! Thank you! You saved me about $125 in new shoes, a trip to podiatrist and missing out on tennis 🎾 Thanks!!
Big big thank to you mate. My Reebok 3.0 has so little room for my toes in my regular size. And I tried the parallel shoes lace in my 5km after a short walk to try it out. It works really nice for my wide feet.
I have flat feet, I’m bow legged, I supinate, and my second toe is longer than my big toe. man….all kinds of messed up! 😂 I found some great shoes but I am walking around with the big toe and heel lock lacing technique and I am loving life!! I literally have no pain! Thank you for posting!
The last time I bought shoes at a specialty running store, the guy laced them up using the runner's loop method and I was mystified by how much better it feels. I unfortunately forgot how to lace them up that way, so I am very happy to be able to re-learn it from your video!
the heel lock is a brililant solution for one of my service users who has had a stroke and can't keep his balance or is at times rather fearful of falling down. I did this for him and he was so happy because he felt so stable in his Nike ACG's. Great idea.
@@RunningWithDusty hi Dusty😀. Thank you for the comment. Same for my wife as she has an achilles heel issue and I purchased a pair of Adidas zx 7000 torsion running. Both of these, things helped massively. Bye4now...SqueezyhugZ
Omg I remember doing all this "experiment" With my high school sneakers so it looked cool. Didn't know it actually change the effects. The heel lacing is new to me. Thanks for the video 😊
I'm walking around my house right now with parallel lacing and the heel lock, and my shoes feel so *different*. I can't wait to see how this works out.
Great instructions! Thank you for going slowly through the process. I have problems with my heel slipping so I will try that. also I’m going to try the parallel option you showed. Great work!
the last one is was best i used to do that with my causal sneakers thanks for making this video actually i forgot how i used to do it this technique is quite rare so not lot of videos are there on internet
I’m no distance runner, but i play indoor sports and have issues with pressure on my big toes and also slipping heels since my heels are very narrow and my front parts of the feet are wide. I combo’ed #1 and #2 now it’s more tight around the heel and i almost can’t feel the shoes pressuring my big toes anymore. It feels like i have them poor laced like walking sneakers but the are firm enough to not letting the feet slipper around. Thanks!
OMG! I have just used the 3rd method you show on a pair of trainers that have always felt too small even though they are the same size as all my others. Now they fit perfectly. Thank you for the video, and I will see how my feet get on for the rest of the day.
Fun video! I used to know several different ways to tie shoes; some were just for fun, others for a specific purpose. I always try and tell friends & acquaintances about the Lace Lock, or the Heel Lock as you call it, when they talk about heel slippage, and I actually do it for them. This is an easy fix and they’re amazed at the new feel. I’ll have to try and remember the lacing for wider feet and larger toes. Thanks again!
So cool, I thought I had bought the wrong size shoes, then, tried the diagonal and now neither left nor right has any painful pressure against my big toes!!!Thank you!
thank you, finally my 200 nikes actually fit my foot!! off for a good walk with my pups, thanks again, makes all the difference, i used lacing 3. great snug firm fit but toes free and airy.
I had felt a pain on my left instep when I put on some shoes. (I don’t know why only left side) I tried the third technic you showed. My trouble has been solved by the lace technic. Thank you very much!
I’ve been doing the runner’s loop with my VF ever since and yes, no heel slippage. However, on my last run wearing the cielo x1 with the ugly laces, doing the runner’s loop made the top part of my foot, where I do tying the laces, painful. Maybe a bit too tight? How do I go with preventing possible heel slippage and not making the top of the foot painful without doing the loop tightly?! Is there any other way to tie the laces to prevent heel slippage?
I have always trouble finding wide enough shoes for my feet. I guess I have to try if I can cope with the bit narrower ones if I use parallel lacing. I have to say that if somebody cannot understand how to do parallel lacing after watching this clear video just once they probably have some kind of learning disorder, though.
This really works! I tried the parallel lacing and it really made a huge difference on my uncomfortable narrow shoes. Thank you so much for the big help
I recently purchased Hoka One One Arahi 5s, which have a completely different type of lacing holes than shown in your video. The laces don't end up parallel using your technique with this shoe. Is there any way that I can adapt your method to my new sneakers. My ankles are in a lot of pain after only a few power walks, and I'm confident that the parallel lacing technique will solve my problem. Any advice? Thanks so much!
On the first lacing with the runners loop or in general should you lace from outside going in or from inside going out? Really helpful but just dying to understand what would put less pressure on the top of my foot with the standard lacing (criss cross)
Looks like with this tie the laces set on the outside of the shoe not touching the tongue of the shoe not putting pressure on the top of the foot bone. Where with a standard lacing the crossover go under the outside of the shoe with the laces setting on top of the tongue of the shoe putting more pressure on the top of the foot bone. It just looks like the laces set up off of the top of the foot bone and relieve some pressure off of it.
Thanks for the info! I was in an accident years ago that left me with issues with one foot. Can I lace my shoes different for each foot or stick to one style?
LOVE the video!! I’ve been using the loop technique in all my shoes for about 30 years, but I may need to try the diagonal for my daughter. She may need a combo diagonal/loop so I’m curious if you’ve ever combined techniques. Also, btw, they’re eyelets not eyelids. ;-)
I tried to do the parallel lacing for wide feet and just did not end up the way you did. Couldn't figure it out, kept doing it... until I realized, I only have 5 pairs of eyelets vs 6 on the New Balance Propel V2! Ugh!!
instead of doing the whole parallel style. If your feet is wide near the top, skip the first row and start yoru lacing from the second row. Lace normal.
@@mixeddrinks8100 Thanks it's more around the arch - I have no arch, flat fee so the width issue is there as it comes down flat and wide like duck feet. Typically don't have issues where toes start.
I really can't tell what the issue is with my feet.. I used to run and it wouldn't bother me so much. Maybe it's all the years wearing converse haha. But now the arches of my feet, and the outer blade burn when I run! Eventually my foot goes numb and I can tollerate it. But obviously that's not sustainable long term. I do have a wider foot and tend to wear mens running shoes. Maybe I'm lacing my shoes too tight to try and keep them in place... I'll try the parallel running lace in combo with the runners loop.. Maybe that'll help to ease the burning..

My vote is 👍👍

I'm s big fan of parallel lacing. It locks the foot down very well without putting too much pressure on the top of the arch.
WOW, I had same issue of heel slipping while running. Just tried with laces like you demonstrated, what a difference. It does work. Thanks.

Wonderful tips. For the parallel lacing I like the phrase "Up and in" (lace goes up from the inside) then '"over and out" (you get it)..
Thanks Dusty!
You did a very good job of explaining these. People, just come back here and watch him again if you need to. That's what I did.

great video thanks 👍 i’ve got a the saucony triumph triumph 20 which have tie down loops is there a way to do parallel lacing with this shoe ?

You recommend a shoe lacing for flat foot?
I only knew only one way to tie my laces thank you for showing me there other options.

Hi. Which ASICS model are those?
Hi, they are an older model of DS Trainers
With parallel lacing can you have the runners knot with that 1 also?

Never heard it called parallel lacing. In middle school we called it straight lacing, all the skaters straight laced their shoes with the wide laces.
AWESOME!!! I hope I can do my left shoe!!! Third lace😂
Only problem with parallel lacing, is you cant adjust them. I can pull on the laces and they just get stuck.
Much tenkius
Good
4:13 parallel lacing
Does this actually work 🤔🤔🤔🤔
Of course!
You have to change thumbnail like 'your all three lacing style show in thumbnail .
