Started watching this on Jocelyn's channel and had to come over. I'm so happy you guys are going through it all to save the treasures instead of just tossing into dumpsters like a lot of house flippers do! Looking forward to watching your adventures!
Very cool. You've got a big job ahead of you for sure! Came over from Jocelyn's channel. Can't wait to see the treasures you find. Hopefully you got the house super cheap because there's a whole lotta cleaning and fixing up to do.
Hi Gus! Came over from Jocelyns channel. I, too, have been working through a hoarded estate full of antique/vintage treasures. I’ve been at it 4 years. Looking forward to watching! There is something VERY cathartic watching people with “no emotional attachment” to family process through one of these mountains. Sadly, my mountain, was inherited from my mother. 😔
I always wonder what the story behind these houses are? Someone knew they had valuable items but it all got thrown around in piles of bags and boxes. Did the family give up on it and decide to just walk away? Did the home owner not have family and became overwhelmed? At some point was there a family who lived there? The pitter patter of little feet. Christmas mornings and Sunday breakfasts? Or was the owner lonely and eccentric? Drinking whiskey, playing gin listening to old records. Did they collect what they loved or buy because the items had value? How did they slowly lose control of the home? Was it years upon years of buying, loneliness and feeling empty? Or were they perfectly content and enjoyed the sense of presence of each piece? Did they buy to sell but never sold? Or was this just the left over pieces they never had a chance to sell? Did they get sick? Where they haunted by the memories of someone they mourned? Or did all the madness bring them joy? Every house has a story, a history. Every home had someone who walked within its walls. What story would they tell you? What things did they see? Every house has its own tales. Every box, bag, shirt or coat leaves us a clue. Such an interesting mix of items. I bet the person who left those items had/ has some great tales to tell.
I’ve been following along at the Crazy Lamp Lady channel. It has fascinating watching the different discoveries being made. As a designer, I love that you took a chance on this home and were able to preserve the treasures that are being unearthed.
Jocelyn sent me . So looking forward to seeing your journey. And the many treasures you will find. And t by en seeing the finished house. Please Stay Safe, Happy And Healthy. Have A Wonderful Day
Hey Gus looking forward to your future videos. Curiosity Incorporated did a similar treasure/hoarder house u tube video series. You would benefit from watching as this was his second treasure house and he is a longtime antique reseller with a good system. His houses actually had stuff piled to the ceilings in some rooms. He cleaned out a room completely and used that room to process the rest of the items. Once his crew picked something up it went into trash, donate or keep boxes for efficiency. You have at least a month of treasure hunt left. I think you need a clear path to the doors to start with, you are weaving through a mine field of stuff and someone will be tired and have trouble sooner or later. Also Dr. Lori used to work for Sothebys and has a large u tube following. If you have a pile of things you need identified at the end, you can pay her on an hourly basis for id or help. CI took their items to an auction house which takes 30-40% I think, they made $400,000 on the firs auction alone.
Oh my. Looks so fun to me. Love the music. An the hall tree upstairs looks AMAZING. Can't wait for more videos. Remember look at everything before you throw it away. I have done this before.
This is amazing… I am impressed with people who can tackle projects like this, I would be so overwhelmed I wouldn’t know where to begin.. So excited to see the finished project at the end, you are obviously very talented to take on such a feat! Thank you for sharing your journey with us, your time is recognized & appreciated! xo from Oregon 💕
I’m sad for the hoarder. When I think of people living like that it breaks my heart. There are so many nice things that could have gone to family, friends or others who could have enjoyed them instead of stashing them away. The good news is that the new owners can sell, trade or donate the valuable pieces to those who will enjoy them and the profits can go to fixing up the house so that it can be happy again. 🥰
I'm another one who jumped over from Jocelyns channel. When I first began watching, my heart sped up and I got goosebumps all over, lol! This is so exciting and I've gotta say, I am so jealous 😫! JK, but it would be such an adventure. Such fun, thanks for sharing this with all of us. I'm a new subscriber too and will follow along as you and Nina explore your treasures 🤑 💰 😉
Wow, such a sad house, what a mess. Fantastic that you are sorting it out, so many treasures. Have been watching Jocelyn and the progress you are all making. Thanks for sharing.
Hello, Love Jocelyn...love all her friends too. 😁 I enjoyed seeing all that you've uncovered in her videos. This was a fun first video... Loved the background music...very appropriate. Nice haul too...Looking forward to seeing what other treasures you've uncovered. Thanks so much.
Is there such a thing as a clean hoarder? My mother had the boxes for everything .You never saw piles, dangerous situations. Just a fantastic CLEAN assortment of collections. No dead mice , or food rottening.Or to the ceilings...So sad to see people live like that and not enjoy their finds. Truly is a illness to many depths for some.
Wow, you definitely have your work cut out for ya! I love this kind of stuff! I bought a house where a hoarder lived, but it had been cleaned out by the time I came around. I was told it took 6 or 7 dumpsters to get it all taken away! Looking forward to your adventure! Came over from Joclyn's channel.
I came here from Jocelyn’s channel. This is such a fascinating process. My husband’s cousin’s mother in law is a hoarder and has several houses full now. I can only imagine what they look like based on her daughter’s house. Wonderful people but floor to ceiling stacks of stuff. I was amazed to find that there was a piano under some books. You have some wonderful treasures there and I look forward to seeing them revealed.
I came over from Crazy Cat Lady, 😀 I mean Crazy Lamp Lady channel. I can't see how this how is salvageable, but I guess we will learn. Old electrical, old plumbing? This will be an adventure.
What an amazing video! Loved how the music corresponded with you’re walk through.Couldnt get enough of watching this. Can’t wait to see what treasures you discover...thank-you for taking us along.
I can smell this! My MIL was a hoarder. She lived in three houses and the first one was similar to this but smaller and had defined pathways through the hoard. She also collected antiques but not of this quality. Someone came into the house and stole all of the nicer things for several days. They took quite a bit of it. She cried and boo hooed but never told her family that they could go and get whatever they wanted. I could go on and on.
I got hooked watching this “Little Gem” 💎 on Crazy Lamp ladies channel. Wowza! This is some place! Congratulations on the find! I will be staying on your Channel! God Bless!
Just checking in from the crazy lamp ladys channel. Big job ahead of you guys but hard work pays off. So looking forward to more and more videos. Thanks for sharing
Wow this is amazing unbelievable I can’t believe the house was left like that for so long love to hear the story associated with this house this did this people or person have no family they had such unbelievable treasures in that house they had remarkable taste when I was watching off of crazy lamp lady channel I couldn’t believe the treasures she was finding makes me sad it was left like that though for so long so glad you bought it and giving it new life Iam sure the previous owners or owner would be happy looking forward to more video curious all it going to turn out thanks take care
I've been following the treasure hunt on Crazy Lamp Lady. Had no idea that it started out this bad. What a great job you are doing. Can't wait to see what else you find.
Love the music, had to see this after watching Jocelyn's channel. So glad you guys saved this house and its treasures. So rewarding for all of your hard work. Keep the videos coming.
I love your videos and Jocelyns. So many treasures I'm glad someone would be able to enjoy them now. I'm just guessing that the person that owned this house lived somewhere else and used this house for storage, I can't imagine anyone living there. Thanks for sharing with us and I look forward to seeing the rest of them,
Speechless. Can't decide whether to call it courageous or crazy to venture into that basement!! Of course the music added to the creep factor and was it me or did I keep hearing Oy Oy as you went through the upstairs.
Wow! Love to look for treasure but not too sure i could handle that mess. Be safe & can't wait for ur next video. I heard about u thru Crazy Lamp Lady.
Oh my god what a mess but what a treasure trove.Alex of curiosity inc could have a fieldday here! He loves his hoarder houses! But Jocelyn will be extatic too!
🕵️♀️ Hey, Jocelyn and Andrew sent me shhhh 🤫 I have to say, the opening, the walk through with that great music was spectacular! Looking forward to more! WOW!! The engraving on that spoon was unbelievable! I and I know others would like to hear about the owners if that’s not too personal. I understand they lost the house to unpaid taxes. I wonder if they are still around, if so, I feel horrible for them. Personally, I could never have left the contents. I would have had to break the l*w, if ya know what I mean, to get into the house and remove those treasures... but then again, I would probably be in the clink 😂 I’m glad you guys have it and are saving those beautiful treasures. Good luck❣️
Oh my goodness you must have so shocked! Like a lot of the others I started watching via Crazy Lamp Lady! I can certainly understand why the family didn’t want to take this on! The house looks like it’s going to be amazing! I can’t wait to see how you go through each room and see the finished house!
Came over from Jocelyn’s and watch Couriousity Inc. love watching house be put back together and hear story of owner. Such beautiful items and sad to see the state it is in.
WOW. I spotted some cool thing. I did a house like that once. At least you have respirators. I just had to open all the windows. Great vintage clothing haul. Throw what can be washed in with 2 cups of vinegar and it cleans any mildew right out of them.
You would have to be insane to live like that. Wow! But lucky you. What an adventure! Hopefully, you're plan is to knock the house down after you get all the treasures out. I can't imagine fixing it up. Better to start from scratch.
Oh! My! This is going to be an exciting adventure, and I can't wait to see every minute of it. I bet you'll find enough treasures to cover what you paid for the house. :)
That cellar is creepy! 😱 gotta be brave & determined to tackle the house of horrors 😅 The people who lived in it must have been insane, I’ve never seen anything like it 😖 Glad you and your mrs are finding some treasures and sorting it all out, 👏🏼 look forward to seeing the transformation over the next few months! 🙂
Gus, would love an update as to what the house looks like today. Have you started to work on it? Is it structurally sound? What became of most of the pieces? Are they still being sold? Auctions? Ebay? Private sales??
Very cool discoveries from every room! If you have a sale please let us know. Hope the renovations go smoothly for you. Good luck with your adventures, can't wait to see them!
Gus and Nina, how amazing! I would give anything to come help! Such an adventure! Be sure to check the clothing, it looks as though she had good taste in other things, she might have designer clothing too!

I could likely bring help too. Would pay you for anything I wanted to buy too of course. Lemme know!! 😊
Would have loved to see the finish of this house and the money put into and the sale of and total of the items like glass pottery and clothing. Just a fascinating peek into peoples lives and how/ why they amassed so much stuff. It's so far from my own life which I never collected anything if it wasn't something I used daily I didn't own it.
