I agree. There are a lot of people who say the launch of the Xbox One is what harmed the Xbox brand. I however think Phil Spenser has actually done more harm to the brand, as under his watch they just seem incapable of producing enough big first party games, or a lot of the time any games at all.

I think it's just a matter of opinion. Xbox's collection of first party games, while far from perfect, is more appealing to me than PlayStation at the moment. Gamepass is also a massive selling point for xbox. I do feel the 360 had more quality games but that's an issue with gaming in general anymore, not specifically xbox, there are just less genuinely good games anymore. This generation is FAR better than xbox one IMO. It's so much less broken/glitchy, is much more playable than the 16fps garbage a lot of xbox one games had, and it's wasn't started with the INSANE anti game share policy the xbox one had.

I think developers were willing to take a lot more risks and produce really unique games. Also there was a lot less consolidation in the industry and releasing a single game cost a lot less. I feel like because of that we got a lot more quality releases on that console.
I have a similar feeling about Playstation as well. Majority of the PS exclusive games feel like interactive cinematic movie/walking simulators and even the ones like God of War and Spiderman can still have cutscenes dragging on for too long.
F**k it, I'm staying with steam deck/PC, Their steam customer support team did a really great job, and the sales are better. I prefer sales for build up my own collection than just keep paying Xbox Game Pass Ultimate monthly subscription for like lifetime. Sony hasn't made a masterpiece for the PS5 yet. Name one and don't say spiderman because that shit wasn't even at the game awards. You can't say FF7R because that's on the PC. Most first party games have sucked this generation on all platforms except Nintendo. So saying people are better with PS5s is just delusional especially when only one of the two can emulate. Once Sony started getting a lead on units sold they reverted to their anti-consumer crap again. So if neither has good first party then all that matters is which one has more utility/subscription options/emulation. God of War as an example has a tone and perspective shift from the older games, personally I never cared for either type of GoW. As I said Spiderman probably would have been at the Game Awards, but it had a terrible narrative driving the story so it flopped on that part. When I look at Nintendo vs Sony the difference is night and day on actual first party titles compared to mediocre ones. There are only 2 games in their entire showcase that I might miss. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Silent hill 2, but Silent Hill 2 is only a timed exclusive the same with FF7R. Eventually rebirth will go to pc and SH2 will be on xbox. Ghosts of Tsushima is a beautiful looking game but at the end of the day it's just a samurai simulator, which xbox already has at least one of those. Lastly, Naughty Dog killed the Last of Us with part 2 having a terrible story as well as character development so that series is for most people, dead.
Great Points, Only thing I disagree with you is the word nowadays I think they've sucked for the past two generations since 360. They've made a lot of bad decisions and relying on Game Pass has ruined their revenue. PlayStation and Nintendo just focus on a variety of games and it's kept them in a great place

Definitely agree with you here . I didn't bother getting the xbox series x. . it doesn't interest me plus i don't have the money for it. I also don't like how the never consoles are all about the online experience . When we don't have a good internet connection in our home . So its impossible for me to play certain games that require Internet. Also i feel the 1ft two xbox consoles are the best because no games require u to play online you could still play games offline and still have fun . So i personally think the first 2 consoles .

The community seems to have taken a nosedive too. I remember it used to be super easy to find new players and friends. A lot of games had in game options to team up together too. Now you get lucky to find 1 person with a mic, and it's noticeable how uncoordinated teams are in team based games compared to when everyone had a mic and wanted to work together. The trash talk made you more competitive to shut them up, but now you can get banned for harassment for simply calling someone "garbage"

I just recently sold my ps5 because i got frustrated with the thing. These days consoles are just too expensive. And im talking about the big 2, ps5 and xbox series. And i feel that for the price its just totally not worth what im getting. The only one who got the whole price thing down is nintendo. But im sure even they will bend the knee to greed. I find that my pc is sufficient enough for modern games. even tho sometimes windows can be a major headache. It's still the most affordable option out there. even if you would build very expensive pc. I think down a year you would still be cheaper off than owning a ps5 and paying for your psn and 80 bucks a game. And in my opinion i still prefer the console experience. Sitting at the couch with a big screen and just popping a disc in and start playing like no ones business. But it seems the only one who can still offer that experience in a traditional sense is nintendo. The reality is that the major game studios that we were familier with back in the day are now run by suits who just only focus on the numbers. They dont care about our enjoyment hence the lack of ambition in recent aaa titels. I came to realize that sad truth...... I also owned an xbox series x for a while. But that thing was a bigger drama than the ps5. Games that i owned the disc of had some sort of online drm that locked me out of the whole game because it didnt belong to my account or something. I just played backwards compatible games on it and red dead 2. That was about it. I hate this all digital gaming world we live in. I can accept it on pc, but the console experience just took a major hit because of it.

Xbox one was such a big crash for Xbox. Even after a decade, they still haven't recovered. I made a cringey video 6 years ago on why I've regretted buying the console. And also I made a video addressing the problem that AA batteries leak acid in the controllers along with horrible durability. There's no games on the XSX system and dev kits are rarely supported. I've moved on to PC. 8th gen made you lose your patience with waiting for a game.

i had an xbox one, but traded for a ps4. the reason being the price of games, let me give context: the minimum wage of my country is 1400 today, the lowest internet bill is 500mb/s coming from 100, water is 80 for most houses, and electrict is 270, food for only one person is 500 so let me do the math: monthly bill total: 950.. and im not including rent, which for a minimum payment job is basically impossible. now let me state a sad truth: ABOVE 60% of people in my country, receives per monthh LESS or UP TO the minimum wage. alright, but what about the topic, the videogame and games prices? an used fat xbox one from 2013 costs 1100 on the facebook marketplace. a PS5 costs 4000 (4 whole months of work...). and what about a 60 dolar launch game? 249.. what about the new street fighter 6? 250. ea fifa 2024 is 359 (crazy.). now here, xbox games are hardly in promo and there is barely any physical media games, and thats why most people here buy playstation, because the new game came as 250 and then in less than a week, you can buy it used from another person for as low as 150! and 100 difference is an internet bill or food for the table. my country actually has the cheapest and most commonly found games in the whole latin america, and its way cheaper than russia for example, people with these examples can get why people from these places pirate games that much, its because you pirate to play or you dont play at all, because its either the controller of food. sorry for text.

Nah bro, Xbox has shot into the stratosphere with their massive ecosystem, budget console, most powerful console, PC, mobile devices, and cloud. The purchasing of ABK... a company larger than all of SONY gives them a ridiculous 1st party lineup. The save syncing is super fast and just works everywhere as well. Once you have a Series X and start getting into the Xbox ecosystem, you realize how open it is. I sold my PS5 and haven't looked back.

You could buy a battery rechargeable system it's one of those things that you buy at the store and then you put your batteries that die into that thing and it charges it up . could do that to charge up up the batteries again .
Doesn't help that Microsoft has essentially gone all in not on exclusives, but on Gamepass. Hell, I'll be shocked if we see another Xbox console after this generation comes to an end, because I feel like with how much Microsoft is pushing for Gamepass, they're trying to get out of the console market, and if they can get gamepass on playstation, that'll remove any need for an xbox.

Agree with you on a lot of things. UI is worse than the Switch for a cheap reason (push Game Pass, Store, Videos), controller is arguably worse (that button click), digital games are horribly priced to push GamePass, exclusives that are once great became few and trash. Microsoft sells Windows everywhere, but distributes Xbox to just a fraction of that. Gimped storage, almost no repairability, proprietary parts shoved down our throats. If the company stopped focusing exclusively on trying to con people into streaming and paying for nothing, maybe they can get back some of the glory that the brand once has. I also agree with the people in the comments who say that all of this applies to most businesses in the world, so maybe some gamers need to grow a backbone and speak with their wallets for once.

You lost me at the batteries in the controller.. being able easily replace the batteries either with AA or rechargeables is frankly miles ahead of PlayStation.. batteries go bad on PlayStation you replace the entire controller or void the warranty
I never had batteries go bad with Playstation controller but I did have a short in one of them. You may not have that issue with xbox but I still don't like needing to keeping buying batteries it's dumb

I have to disagree. Not because you're wrong, but your perspective is wrong. It's consoles that suck nowadays, and that's because the Xbox 360 and PS3 was the last true console generation. Since that point, consoles have become more like PCs, PC and Mobile have become more important than console gaming and Cloud gaming takes a major role in how people play games. So blaming Xbox for this is kind of like blaming the President for hurricane season. It's misplaced criticism. An accurate criticism, but a misplaced one.
I mean there's other issues besides xbox with modern gaming but it still doesn't change the fact that Xbox sucks which was the point of this video. I mostly liked ps4 and had a good time with it even though 8th generation was the start of a quality decrease I think. But yeah pcs and mobile n cloud is more important and new thimg now over consoles. 7th gen definitely was the last true console generation. I’ve had 3 controllers since may that didn’t work or barely did and I never got my refund back from Walmart after doing protection plan I’m so close to switching to PlayStation or PC because it’s ridiculous that I can’t even get a bone thrown to me after spending 150$ this pass may just on controllers and don’t forget the controllers I’ve been buying since the Xbox one which is no effing different than the New Gen consoles maybe so but really not especially in the name Strafield was a bust thats still being promoted by Xbox and I want my refund on that 70-73$ game Xbox let the same terrible developers make video games that cost 59-75$ but worth literally 0$ rather buy over the hedge game (which is a fire game) I have terrible times connecting my Ethernet cable to the back of my Xbox and it’s so basic and boring

Ok you are really reaching with the controller. "I don't know i just like the one of the 360 better" is not an argument. There is nothing wrong with the controller. And the batteries are actually a better thing than what PlayStation does. If you don't like changing normal batteries just buy rechargeable ones. You get the same thing as PlayStation then with the added bonus you don't have to crack open the whole damn controller to change the battery when it goes bad. Not only that you can change rechargeable packs and never be out of battery when you want to play. The battery situation on Xbox controllers is much much much better like that and trying to make an argument against that is just clowning around.,
How am i reaching? Batteries are a dumb concept having to keep buying Batteries to use a controller and that's true but again the rechargeable Batteries don't even come with the system you Have to buy them separately. And I have never had a battery go bad with a Playstation controller myself I've had other issues but I even said In the damn video that both really suck and wired Controllers are better but out of the 2 yeah I'm taking Playstation controller over Xbox cause atleast I can charge it from the go and don't have to pay for batteries or rechargeable ones.

Understandable. The Xbox One was quite a fetch. It's a fun console at first until a year, or later you'll be uninterested in the library, though I do think if Microsoft updates and removes the blocky design and makes a new model similar to the Xbox 360 e with slimmer design choices would've made it better especially if it gets Left 4 Dead 3, Block City Wars, Pixel Gun 3D and plenty of other games from different platforms instead of PlayStation. I think what made the Xbox 360 fun was that it had a variety of games, including mobile ports and rip-offs of certain games, and its own good exclusive titles. I think Microsoft can call it the X-bone or Xbox Resurgence. Though I agree that the PS4 is the best PlayStation console after the PS2. Hopefully, by the 10th generation of gaming, Xbox will get back on track with an original console and be pro-consumer. By way the 2010s culture ended in March 2020 because of covid.

Microsoft was good during xbox 360 era. They went downhill when they released xbox one (2013). They ruined their own exclusives like Halo, Fallout, Dead Rising, and Gears of Wars. I know they have some or a few good exclusives too. I still on my xbox one s, but I rather have the ps5 or nintendo switch than xbox series s/x. Sony only has some descent exclusive games. But I don't think all of them aren't that perfect. Has for nintendo is mario or first party games.

Xbox has better profits than Playstation, they're last. Nintendo is always up and down with their failures and successes. There's way more to gaming than just console sales. Xbox releases their GDP in a week or two and it'll show just how insanely profitable they are with COD, Diablo IV, Starfield, etc.

A decent video, however a majority of your points are subjective, opinion based. name a single spec that ps5 has better than xbox, ill wait. Everything is better about xbox, from the prices, the games, the services, and the actual company. Although both sony and microsoft are very reputable companies, microsoft is a giant in comparison to sony when it comes to cutting edge software, and services.

Personally i find the Xbox Ui worse. PlayStation UI is much easier and less convoluted. It's a simple UI like a console should have but it does make me wonder how Microsoft that is basically famous for making OS for computers can't make a better console UI.

I haven’t played on Xbox One but I played the XBox 360 before and the original XBox as well. The original and 360 were great times for gaming.

I agree. There are a lot of people who say the launch of the Xbox One is what harmed the Xbox brand. I however think Phil Spenser has actually done more harm to the brand, as under his watch they just seem incapable of producing enough big first party games, or a lot of the time any games at all.

I think it's just a matter of opinion. Xbox's collection of first party games, while far from perfect, is more appealing to me than PlayStation at the moment. Gamepass is also a massive selling point for xbox. I do feel the 360 had more quality games but that's an issue with gaming in general anymore, not specifically xbox, there are just less genuinely good games anymore. This generation is FAR better than xbox one IMO. It's so much less broken/glitchy, is much more playable than the 16fps garbage a lot of xbox one games had, and it's wasn't started with the INSANE anti game share policy the xbox one had.

I think developers were willing to take a lot more risks and produce really unique games. Also there was a lot less consolidation in the industry and releasing a single game cost a lot less. I feel like because of that we got a lot more quality releases on that console.

Majority of the PS exclusive games feel like interactive cinematic movie/walking simulators and even the ones like God of War and Spiderman can still have cutscenes dragging on for too long.

Sony hasn't made a masterpiece for the PS5 yet. Name one and don't say spiderman because that shit wasn't even at the game awards. Most first party games have sucked this generation on all platforms except Nintendo. So saying people are better with PS5s is just delusional especially when only one of the two can emulate. Once Sony started getting a lead on units sold they reverted to their anti-consumer crap again. So if neither has good first party then all that matters is which one has more utility/subscription options/emulation.

God of War as an example has a tone and perspective shift from the older games, personally I never cared for either type of GoW. As I said Spiderman probably would have been at the Game Awards, but it had a terrible narrative driving the story so it flopped on that part. When I look at Nintendo vs Sony the difference is night and day on actual first party titles compared to mediocre ones.
There are only 2 games in their entire showcase that I might miss. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Silent hill 2, but Silent Hill 2 is only a timed exclusive the same with FF7R. Eventually rebirth will go to pc and SH2 will be on xbox. Ghosts of Tsushima is a beautiful looking game but at the end of the day it's just a samurai simulator, which xbox already has at least one of those. Lastly, Naughty Dog killed the Last of Us with part 2 having a terrible story as well as character development so that series is for most people, dead.
Great Points, Only thing I disagree with you is the word nowadays I think they've sucked for the past two generations since 360. They've made a lot of bad decisions and relying on Game Pass has ruined their revenue. PlayStation and Nintendo just focus on a variety of games and it's kept them in a great place

Definitely agree with you here . I didn't bother getting the xbox series x. . it doesn't interest me plus i don't have the money for it. I also don't like how the never consoles are all about the online experience . When we don't have a good internet connection in our home . So its impossible for me to play certain games that require Internet. Also i feel the 1ft two xbox consoles are the best because no games require u to play online you could still play games offline and still have fun . So i personally think the first 2 consoles .

The community seems to have taken a nosedive too. I remember it used to be super easy to find new players and friends. A lot of games had in game options to team up together too.
Now you get lucky to find 1 person with a mic, and it's noticeable how uncoordinated teams are in team based games compared to when everyone had a mic and wanted to work together.
The trash talk made you more competitive to shut them up, but now you can get banned for harassment for simply calling someone "garbage"

I just recently sold my ps5 because i got frustrated with the thing. These days consoles are just too expensive. And im talking about the big 2, ps5 and xbox series. And i feel that for the price its just totally not worth what im getting. The only one who got the whole price thing down is nintendo. But im sure even they will bend the knee to greed. I find that my pc is sufficient enough for modern games. even tho sometimes windows can be a major headache. It's still the most affordable option out there. even if you would build very expensive pc. I think down a year you would still be cheaper off than owning a ps5 and paying for your psn and 80 bucks a game.
And in my opinion i still prefer the console experience. Sitting at the couch with a big screen and just popping a disc in and start playing like no ones business. But it seems the only one who can still offer that experience in a traditional sense is nintendo. The reality is that the major game studios that we were familier with back in the day are now run by suits who just only focus on the numbers. They dont care about our enjoyment hence the lack of ambition in recent aaa titels. I came to realize that sad truth......
I also owned an xbox series x for a while. But that thing was a bigger drama than the ps5. Games that i owned the disc of had some sort of online drm that locked me out of the whole game because it didnt belong to my account or something. I just played backwards compatible games on it and red dead 2. That was about it. I hate this all digital gaming world we live in. I can accept it on pc, but the console experience just took a major hit because of it.

Xbox one was such a big crash for Xbox. Even after a decade, they still haven't recovered. I made a cringey video 6 years ago on why I've regretted buying the console. And also I made a video addressing the problem that AA batteries leak acid in the controllers along with horrible durability. There's no games on the XSX system and dev kits are rarely supported. I've moved on to PC. 8th gen made you lose your patience with waiting for a game.

i had an xbox one, but traded for a ps4. the reason being the price of games, let me give context: the minimum wage of my country is 1400 today, the lowest internet bill is 500mb/s coming from 100, water is 80 for most houses, and electrict is 270, food for only one person is 500 so let me do the math: monthly bill total: 950.. and im not including rent, which for a minimum payment job is basically impossible. now let me state a sad truth: ABOVE 60% of people in my country, receives per monthh LESS or UP TO the minimum wage.

now here, xbox games are hardly in promo and there is barely any physical media games, and thats why most people here buy playstation, because the new game came as 250 and then in less than a week, you can buy it used from another person for as low as 150! and 100 difference is an internet bill or food for the table.

Nah bro, Xbox has shot into the stratosphere with their massive ecosystem, budget console, most powerful console, PC, mobile devices, and cloud. The purchasing of ABK... a company larger than all of SONY gives them a ridiculous 1st party lineup. The save syncing is super fast and just works everywhere as well. Once you have a Series X and start getting into the Xbox ecosystem, you realize how open it is. I sold my PS5 and haven't looked back.

You could buy a battery rechargeable system it's one of those things that you buy at the store and then you put your batteries that die into that thing and it charges it up . could do that to charge up up the batteries again .
Doesn't help that Microsoft has essentially gone all in not on exclusives, but on Gamepass. Hell, I'll be shocked if we see another Xbox console after this generation comes to an end, because I feel like with how much Microsoft is pushing for Gamepass, they're trying to get out of the console market, and if they can get gamepass on playstation, that'll remove any need for an xbox.

Agree with you on a lot of things. UI is worse than the Switch for a cheap reason (push Game Pass, Store, Videos), controller is arguably worse (that button click), digital games are horribly priced to push GamePass, exclusives that are once great became few and trash. Microsoft sells Windows everywhere, but distributes Xbox to just a fraction of that. Gimped storage, almost no repairability, proprietary parts shoved down our throats.
If the company stopped focusing exclusively on trying to con people into streaming and paying for nothing, maybe they can get back some of the glory that the brand once has. I also agree with the people in the comments who say that all of this applies to most businesses in the world, so maybe some gamers need to grow a backbone and speak with their wallets for once.

You lost me at the batteries in the controller.. being able easily replace the batteries either with AA or rechargeables is frankly miles ahead of PlayStation.. batteries go bad on PlayStation you replace the entire controller or void the warranty
I never had batteries go bad with Playstation controller but I did have a short in one of them. You may not have that issue with xbox but I still don't like needing to keeping buying batteries it's dumb

I have to disagree. Not because you're wrong, but your perspective is wrong. It's consoles that suck nowadays, and that's because the Xbox 360 and PS3 was the last true console generation. Since that point, consoles have become more like PCs, PC and Mobile have become more important than console gaming and Cloud gaming takes a major role in how people play games.
So blaming Xbox for this is kind of like blaming the President for hurricane season. It's misplaced criticism. An accurate criticism, but a misplaced one.
I mean there's other issues besides xbox with modern gaming but it still doesn't change the fact that Xbox sucks which was the point of this video. I mostly liked ps4 and had a good time with it even though 8th generation was the start of a quality decrease I think. But yeah pcs and mobile n cloud is more important and new thimg now over consoles. 7th gen definitely was the last true console generation. And again it's not about why modern gaming sucks its about why Xbox sucks that's sort of a different topic entirely this video was more to do with Xbox not so much gaming in general.

I’ve had 3 controllers since may that didn’t work or barely did and I never got my refund back from Walmart after doing protection plan
I’m so close to switching to PlayStation or PC because it’s ridiculous that I can’t even get a bone thrown to me after spending 150$ this pass may just on controllers and don’t forget the controllers I’ve been buying since the Xbox one which is no effing different than the New Gen consoles maybe so but really not especially in the name

"I don't know i just like the one of the 360 better" is not an argument. There is nothing wrong with the controller.
And the batteries are actually a better thing than what PlayStation does. If you don't like changing normal batteries just buy rechargeable ones. You get the same thing as PlayStation then with the added bonus you don't have to crack open the whole damn controller to change the battery when it goes bad. Not only that you can change rechargeable packs and never be out of battery when you want to play.
The battery situation on Xbox controllers is much much much better like that and trying to make an argument against that is just clowning around.,
How am i reaching? Batteries are a dumb concept having to keep buying Batteries to use a controller and that's true but again the rechargeable Batteries don't even come with the system you Have to buy them separately. And I have never had a battery go bad with a Playstation controller myself I've had other issues but I even said In the damn video that both really suck and wired Controllers are better but out of the 2 yeah I'm taking Playstation controller over Xbox cause atleast I can charge it from the go and don't have to pay for batteries or rechargeable ones.

Understandable. The Xbox One was quite a fetch. It's a fun console at first until a year, or later you'll be uninterested in the library, though I do think if Microsoft updates and removes the blocky design and makes a new model similar to the Xbox 360 e with slimmer design choices would've made it better especially if it gets Left 4 Dead 3, Block City Wars, Pixel Gun 3D and plenty of other games from different platforms instead of PlayStation. I think what made the Xbox 360 fun was that it had a variety of games, including mobile ports and rip-offs of certain games, and its own good exclusive titles. I think Microsoft can call it the X-bone or Xbox Resurgence. Though I agree that the PS4 is the best PlayStation console after the PS2. Hopefully, by the 10th generation of gaming, Xbox will get back on track with an original console and be pro-consumer. By way the 2010s culture ended in March 2020 because of covid.
Yep if it got those games and got rid of its blocky design and a similar model to the E it sure would be better. Yep that's what made 360 work a variety of styles library games wise. Microsoft was good during xbox 360 era. They went downhill when they released xbox one (2013). They ruined their own exclusives like Halo, Fallout, Dead Rising, and Gears of Wars. I know they have some or a few good exclusives too. I still on my xbox one s, but I rather have the ps5 or nintendo switch than xbox series s/x. Sony only has some descent exclusive games. But I don't think all of them aren't that perfect. Has for nintendo is mario or first party games.

Xbox has better profits than Playstation, they're last. Nintendo is always up and down with their failures and successes. There's way more to gaming than just console sales. Xbox releases their GDP in a week or two and it'll show just how insanely profitable they are with COD, Diablo IV, Starfield, etc.

A decent video, however a majority of your points are subjective, opinion based. name a single spec that ps5 has better than xbox, ill wait. Everything is better about xbox, from the prices, the games, the services, and the actual company. Although both sony and microsoft are very reputable companies, microsoft is a giant in comparison to sony when it comes to cutting edge software, and services.

Personally i find the Xbox Ui worse. PlayStation UI is much easier and less convoluted. It's a simple UI like a console should have but it does make me wonder how Microsoft that is basically famous for making OS for computers can't make a better console UI.
