This made me laugh so hard😂😂😂 I just want to also say I grew up on your channel and loved your content so much! Your lord of the rings videos made me love fantasy stuff even more! So just wanted to say it means a lot to me that you commented on one of my videos!
The "peasant child" from the lion Knights castle is the queens (most likely illegitimate) child ... the troubadur (as is usual in most fantasy / medieval movies / books / series) is his father - hence the torso. Also I would consider the wolfpack and forestmen peasants as well - most likely they had no soldierly training / equipment. God I wish they would finally stop being lazy and print the forestmen torso in black and blue with matching arms ) .
we are living in BLESSED times for castle. hope a full line of a reimagined castle set classics comes out soon. forestman, touneys, royal carts, battering ram/wall sets and a solid castle for a regular consumer market. but ill keep taking these big one offs in the meantime when they have so many characters packed in, especially peasants
In case of the small variety in the last years, I really love to use Jedis as peasants. Relatively cheap to get in high numbers and with different legs, heads and headgear it is possible to create a wide range of minifigs.
It gives me good hope to see how Lego at first didn’t do the effort pf making new torso’s for Blacksmith and 3 in 1 castle (but used pirate torsos), but are now fully embracing the medieval themes with a lot of new torsos in Lion Knights castle, Market square and Viking village. It means they have noticed there’s a market for it. It’s also nice to be able to get even more of these figs on PAB. Definitely stockpiling them for future dark ages. 😅
8:10 Based on what bag you build him and how he's often depicted in promo art, this child seems to be the castle's Prince and not a peasant. I can't think of any other reason he'd be allowed to play with toys in the queen's bedroom.
Hi Brad, nic video, but you could make a breakdown by social category : 1: True peasants, 2: Craftsmen (blacksmiths until current area), 3: Merchants (mostly inn keepers), 4: Castle servants (tax collector, falcon girl from CMF, I also use some torsos like the one from revisited Magisto's workshop), 5: artists (troubadour, jestlers). Have you ever considered talking about the PrInce of Persia series ? I think they fit well along other castle minifigs, especially since there are vikings and ninjas...
I mean you basically just did that lol yes I could do that But I just wanted to list all the figures so people could know whats out there. Just becuase they have one role doesnt mean they couldnt be used for other roles.
Man I gave my kids the medieval markets and they immediately armed the peasants with swords to stab baddies, (My kids don’t know I got myself two of them for my basement Lego world. 😂😂😂😂)
This is fantastic, Brad! Love it. I do have two tiny quibbles though: 1: “Corset” is pronounced with the accent on “COR”, not like the sound of “Corvette”. 2: debatable if this one counts as “peasant”, but certainly civilian, the Nobleman from the Kingdoms joust. CAS500 on Bricklink. Though I suppose you could include him on your roundup of royals, which I hope is forthcoming. :) Thanks for the great work!
lol you guessed right! I actually started writing a script for every royal figure a while back but never finished it! At some point I will be doing that video and adding the nobleman to that.
Great video idea! I love the light gray peasants, I bought one of each variation so I can have a group of them. Pity the modern peasant figs are always so expensive to buy
Amazing vid! I don't remember if the Bricklink Castle in the Forest set had any 'exclusive' peasants in it. I really love the ones from the current era, goat shepherd is so useful and fits with forestmen super well.
Awesome informative and helpful video I agree with you that the current era is the golden age of peasant minifigures. The tax collector, troubador, and Vikings blacksmith are my favorites You should make a video of every royal/ruler minifigure
I know some will hate on me for this but Ninjago over all its a good theme but at this point it has gone on for so long and is super repetitive. and instead of making more original themes lego just dumps all that stuff into ninjago. But also at the same time Lego vidiyo exists....enough said🤣
The promotional photography for that set makes him looks less like a blacksmith and more like a down-on-his-luck knight who is in his undershirt while he repairs his armor himself. 😢 I think that is a reference to 90s minifigs which under the armor piece had a breatplate print that looked like an undershirt (to me and many other kids at the time, at least). It’s definitely not a well executed joke, but I don’t think it’s just lazy. 😅
3:07 "it seemed like LEGO still wasn't going to fix the peasant problem" sounds very different when taken out of context.
This made me laugh so hard😂😂😂

Kingdoms peasants undefeated
Yeah the black smith and ones from mill village raid are top tier! Modern era has just given us such a verity which has been awesome!

Hi golgfyre
2:16 for those that don’t know Daniel Siskind is the founder of Brickmania, and this was his Lego start.
fr they gotta bring them back

Awesome, just realized how great the current gen is in relation to past ones in terms of peasant figures
Right! When you compared new and old we got it good!
Awesome green dragons in the beginning, and also great to have another civilian/peasant-based set this year!
Thank you! Was a photo from a moc I did last year! Right! So happy Lego dropped as another one!
In case of the small variety in the last years, I really love to use Jedis as peasants.

Oh yeah Jedi robes are great!
This is such a great resource for finding LEGO peasant parts and filling out my Castle villages with civilians. Thanks Brad!

Yeah! Lego definitely is making sure we got a lot of torsos! Hopefully it will be a bit before another dark age😂

Still a figure that could be use as a present. Also on bricklink he is called child peasant.

The Maiden with the red hat looks like a man in drag! I love the torso/dress! I might get one for the weekend ❤️👽👽

😂😂😂 the peasant uprising is happening!!!

@@BrickingUpBrad Feat the peasants lion knights
Bro your videos are always amazing! Thank you!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoy them!
There was also a hunchback figure in the Lego Studios monster line that had a peasant outfit
That’s why I said all figures from cmf and castle line. Because there are other figures that are good to
@@BrickingUpBrad ahhh
Oh this is gonna be a good one for sure! Like and comment now but gotta wait to watch later
Glad to hear! Hope you enjoy it!

Some of the newer ones you can get the torsos on PAB which helps with the price!
Amazing vid! I don't remember if the Bricklink Castle in the Forest set had any 'exclusive' peasants in it.

Thank you! Yeah current era ones are so good!
I always used jedi as peasants. With their brown outfits and brown capes and hoods
What is your favourite Lego castle theme?
Kingdoms or fantasy era! I love both of them a lot!
Great video 💪.
I would have add the minifigures from the lego pop up book 21315. All the figure in it except the wolf work well.
I only focused on figures from the cmf and castle line. That’s why I’d didn’t add them
Honorable mentions to the Lego Dnd set for brining more minifigure peasant legs/torsos
True.
Such a great video! Makes me want to collect these so bad! 😮
Thank you! Many of them are pretty pricey 😬
Awesome informative and helpful video
I agree with you that the current era is the golden age of peasant minifigures. The tax collector, troubador, and Vikings blacksmith are my favorites
You should make a video of every royal/ruler minifigure
Thanks for the info!
Any time!
Oh my god we need a goat faction bro we must start one 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
True!
I love my castle and cowboy legos I need both my kingdoms to survive 😊
They are both great!
You should also include the peasant from Vampire's Crypt : Set 1381-1
Yeah the hunch back figure is good but I wanted to focus on cmf and castle lines. There are many figures out side of them that would fit
@@BrickingUpBrad maybe a video on minifigure pieces that work for peasants would be cool
The kingdoms maiden from the mill village raid is in Lego Fortnite now 😂 and so has a name
No way…😂😂😂 I need to pay more attention to Lego Fortnite
lego should start considering goats as peasants
edit: the lego lute 100% has a mustache under the strings
Goats are animals lol.
@@BrickingUpBrad goats are people too just give them a shirt and you cant tell the difference
Nice video but title should be every castle civilian. Not every figure is "peasant" like tax collector, trubadour etc.
Thank you!
Can you do a army tour video
At some point yes!
What’s your least favorite Lego theme ever

I agree with you
Can you give me the name of the music in the background?
I just use music from my subscription to art list
ANOTHER BANGER!?!?
Ayy thanks so much!!!
sucks they never added monks chapples churches and monasteries
What’s so bad about the three in one castle blacksmith?
The pirate torso just isn’t a very good medieval torso. Like it’s a pirate figure put into a castle set
@@BrickingUpBrad it works for me, but I guess its a little lazy.

Hey brad, don’t be so liberal with the adds. Get 2 20 adds every 2 minutes. Love your work but the adds bring the viewer out of the video.
the "peasants" in the blacksmith are the worst, the barrista prints are so lazy
I like that apron look for a black smith
@@BrickingUpBrad the kingdoms blacksmith is the best
The thumbnail is misleading. Those minifigs didn't exist in 1980. The earliest ones are from 1984.
They existed in the 1980s and the new ones exists in the 2020s
Let’s go! I’m first
Like that means anything
It means everything!!!!! but sadly some one dropped a comment before you did so the award doesn't go to you this time!
