The arrma stuff seems to sit the best in 6S. The 4S looks basically like an afterthought and the 8S line is just so big and heavy everyone seems to bend the shit out of everything along with spaghetti shock shafts and glass arms.

I agree. Got the tekno because of your build/run video. I own the maxx and kraton 4s. The tekno handling is on a different level of handling and makes it so enjoyable to drive. I took your tuning recommendations when building it also. It is my first tekno but it won't be my last. I now want to build an MT 410 but with ET48 truggy chassis. Definitely my favorite basher right now. HW 4274 2200kv combo 17Tpinion backflip lp on 4S. Great truck that I've repeatedly recommended on social media to people that are asking for a good basher.
Right on brother. My MT410 for speed and stability and catching serious air but I love my maxx for more of a jibbing style of bashing with a kicker, a table and a rail and also my shed roof for some serious backyard fun

I actually just got done building the mt410 I wish I would have done this year's ago I also have the outcast 4s and maxx and I would take the mt410 everytime if I had to choose, I used the redcat kaiju tires on my mt410 perfect fit! 🤙👍 Seriously though the mt410 just blows all other trucks out if the water the mt410 and xmaxx are my all time favorites. The maxx is also really strong but over priced . Also the associated rival mt10 is the helion mt rebranded and your totally right the kaiju looks just like them

Really? I think it’s the ugliest by far. But that could be fixed with a better body.

You’ll love it man. I just picked up one about a week ago. Would definitely suggest the widemaxx kit for it but overall stock it’s decent. Definitely a super tough truck though I smashed mine into a curb I didn’t see and only cracked the front bulkhead and bent the lower control arm pins. 13$ in new parts and was back up and driving
@@Atomic_dipper lol. I broke one of the arm pieces within the first 20 minutes of ownership. Installing the wide kit now as it replaces the part i broke.
@@BlakeBeardsley that’s kinda surprising. I’ve been bashing mine pretty hard stock and the only reason I broke something is from smashing into a curb. Plastic components are difficult to judge though cause one variation in manufacturing can make some parts weaker.

How do you build a $700 mt410? When I price out everything it's more than that by a lot.

Awesome video mate! I picked those numbers before I watch the vid even though I havnt tried the Tekno I’ve heard very good things about them! Thinking of getting the Tekno 1/8 electric buggy but I’m consider the RTR Kyosho MP9e evo 2.0 have you tried or heard much about the Kyosho? Cheers! 🍻
Is this for racing at your local track? I'd get whatever is most popular there, it will be easier to get parts and setup help. That said, the MP10e is already out and it's a huge redesign over the MP9e, so I would not get the MP9e. Tekno EB48 2.0 should be good, whichever is best supported locally I would get if you intend to race.

Put some 1/8 electronics to really get the speed and power out of the MT410. Its in a class of it's own 👌
tekno is the top of the heap. To super size my mt410 I went with M2C racing center and rear brace and just last week I installed their rear and front shock towers. The mt410 is a little heavier now but nothing bends if I keep it below 40 feet ;)

Smashed my mt410 into a fire hydrant last week :(. Broke shock tower. Shattered a hinge pin and a shock standoff. The arm pivot is egged but that’s about it. Oh and a camber link rod end
Any word on a mt410 2.0 ?
Nice review, Razor. The Tekno MT410 has my interest but I was wondering what is Tekno's part support history like? I'm hesitant about race focused brands because of Losi and Team Associated not carrying parts for their models for that many years. The good thing about Traxxas is that they support their cars and trucks for a very long time.
if its tough enough to race its tough to bash lol and most parts that u break m2c has hop ups but plenty of tekno parts on ebay too

I like the Traxxas Maxx.
It looks like your able to run much harder and get bigger air with the Redcat and Techo then the Maxx because of greater speeds. So maybe that's why things tend to break more on those trucks?

Get the hobao MT plus 2, it's a monster. Totally different to anything else.

Would have enjoyed seeing the Notorious 6s in this mix. I think it's cheaper then the WideMaxx and MT410 also very comparable in size.
These are just the regular 4S middleweights, but at some point I'll do a stunt truck shootout -- Notorious, WideMaxx, Dementor, MT410.

Tekno for the win! I do think your value & support scores are a little low mind. Whilst it does cost quite a bit the value for the performance you get is significant compared to any other truck out there. As for support, sure most hobby stores won’t carry bits but in the age of online shopping Tekno them selves rarely lack parts... Other than that good reviews 👍
I have the widemaxx with aluminum knuckles an rear hubs an tbone exo cage. It's a tank most durable rc I have. I run it mostly on 3s tho.
Same setup as I. I added the GPM progressive green springs. 3s is not a slouch either in the Maxx

Needed an arrma in the mix. The big rock at least. I know the kraton is discontinued but the big rock is hugely popular and needed to be in this comparison
Not really. It's not in the same class.
Big Rock is not a 4S monster truck. It is only 3S. I understand you can put any system in it that you want though

Great to hear your experience with such a wide range of trucks come through. Super useful. It seems that Arrma could punch back into this mid range with a revitalised line up. I’m holding out but not sure I can wait long enough! Personally an updated Outcast 4s would make me a happy man. Do think May, June or July before we get another new Arrma in this category?

@@kimiwang9513 I think for the Vorteks April but beyond that I’m increasingly thinking it’s more likely Oct/Nov as previous years. The only difference this year is the 2020 blip. Essentially I think they put many projects on hold due to the pandemic. If they are playing catch up and have a few releases up their sleeves perhaps earlier in the year is more likely. We’ll see

The Tekno is not the same price as the Maxx, you may only be looking at $450 for the MT410 kit but then you are spending another $500 on it for everything else you need to make it run. So many people are butt hurt the RTR vehicles are that good right now, so many old school kit people around.

The Summit might not be a basher monster truck and it's slower less agile that those trucks in that group, but it's one of the best trucks ever made and fun to drive. It's truly an All-Terrain vehicle and bet ya it can outcrawl out climb any trucks in that list even if it doesn't have brushless power.

I have to respectfully disagree on the speed of the Kaiju. 6s is pretty much unmanageable on this vechile. You simply cannot get it up to speed. I don't recall ever breaking more than 50 mph even on 6s.
I've never driven the other two trucks nor is my opinion biased because I own a Kiaju but because of what I just seen, to me the Kiaju seems to be the better deal out of the three. Yes the Kiaju is a bit weaker as far as durability goes but all rc's will break if you crash them enough. Aside of that, you get more speed for your buck with the Kiaju. Yeah the Traxxas Max is super durable but its over priced and the unlike the Tekno, electronics aren't included. For a first timer who would want to kick out almost $500 for the kit then have to sink another $200 or so to get it to run? Some maybe but the Kiaju just sounds more reasonable in my book.
A Kraton 4S out of the box is an engineering disaster that breaks regularly in many ways... that is one of the most fun RC cars to drive. It truly is the "Mini-Kraton" and a Kraton is a Kraton. If you fix all of it's issues... you wind up with about a $700 car. They should have discontinued it... "Just Get A V3 Big Rock".
Key fixes are the Hot Racing aluminum rear differential... I destroyed 4 rear diffs in 2 years. REMOVE THE CENTER SUPPORT BAR!!! That bar is transferring all shock to the differential casings, which I think is one thing that keeps killing the rear differential. Then the steering is terrible and it needs a 25kg/1-ish speed servo with the HR servo saver.
Then you also do all the usual 3s BLX upgrades like bearings and actually putting differential oil in because Arrma doesn't.
If you do all of this, your $700 Kraton 4S is AWESOME!!!

Techno and redcat huh? May wanna list brands that are in most stores and well known. Redcat and exceed parts r the same along with some other cheap shyte. Thought techno was more of a racing brand. Hpi is back. May wanna include them. The new arma big rock is pretty awesome btw. So the mt410 kit is 830$cdn for the kit. The max is 799$cdn rtr. Those prices are around the price of the hpi flux xl which was just rereleased.
Other than the fact that neither of those trucks are 4S middleweights, you are 100% correct.
I weight down the kanju with custom thick aluminum plates that n chassis and heavier center brace with all metal suspension and swaybars and lower little on 6s with a lot of your air like a hog raft system not fooled!
Now it’s rips but rite out the box best fastest toughest most loans t. Truck is the MAXX hands down and that says slot cause o really hate track as but credit is due we’re it’s due

I honestly don't see how people say traxxas is overpriced. He litterally said the mt410 would cost $700+ and the maxx is $550 and said it's overpriced by 100. That would be the same price as the mt410 WITHOUT any electronics or tires🤔 plus the maxx is the most durable out of the 3. Idk ibjust think traxxas gets alot of crap about being overpriced but when you compare it to similar models and what it would take to make them as durable its really not overpriced. I mean the xmaxx is 899 but so is the outcast 8s and the kraton 8s and most other 1/5 scale rcs cost even more than that

@@aquasound-escapes898 depends on what your looking for or trying to do. The erevo will be faster but the max will be more durable and take more of a beating before breaking. But both trucks are a blast to drive and bash with
@@sofghost6663 great tips! Also the idea of charging 2 batteries at a time vs 1 makes it less appealing and any early breakage of parts. The maxx looks to be an all round performer and best on durability.

So, this Tekno comes bare bones chassis with wheels. no electronics, motor, esc, receiver not even a body for $ 449.99. That is absurd. This isn't the 80's anymore when we had to buy Futaba's to finish our trucks. Come on man, get with the program Tekno. Traxxas is, well you know, Traxxas. Buy us & only us. I will take the kaiju all day. Redcat has really stepped up their game lately. The guy from Arrma who went Redcat is putting Redcat on the map.
$700 that's an extra $300 one can spend on the kieju, that's a joke shouldn't even be on the list. give me $300 extra to upgrade a kieju it would run circles around anything you have 😂
