  • In the Baltic sea, just off the western coast of Estonia lies Kihnu.
    This small island of 700 people is often described as Europe’s last matriarchy where men are traditionally out fishing and the women are left in charge.
    In 2008, UNESCO listed Kihnu culture as an “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity"where Kinhu women were the “principal custodians” of its traditions, including the songs, dance, and handicrafts.
    Meet the women on the island who are working hard to keep their century-old traditions alive.

      @The Primordial Soup Less tedious work? less responsibility? earning money working in fields to feed and financially support your family is no less tedious. You do know the world is not all hugs, kisses and dancing and all your physical needs go away. If you asked me these women are living a way lavish life in comfy homes rather than like their husbands working in the fields, building houses, fishing. From reading what you said isn't that your definition of matriarchy? less responsibilities and less tedious work? well there you have it. And making life altering decisions for yourself is not patriarchy or matriarchy it's called being a normal human being making your own decisions and not letting another person make one for you. For example if your bf or husband forced you to get a breast implant would you want to do it? well ofc not it's your decision at the end likewise making a life altering decision for these men on the islands has nothing to do with what society they live in, it's just part of being a human and human rights.

      There's no evidence of any truly matriarchal culture in
      which women hold a// the power and make a// the
      decisions. There are matrilineal and matrilocal
      cultures, typically on a small scale, and this has to do
      with inheritance and family structures. But when they
      get larger, men always take over.

    • @LuxBro-um2fu
      @LuxBro-um2fu 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some kids already live in a matriarchal society.
      Something like 40% of children are raised by single moms and spend most of their days in daycares and public schools where they are surrounded by female teachers and administrators. These young boys rarely see a man whom they can emulate and they are surrounded only by femininity. The young girls never see a man who has worthy qualities she should look for in a husband. The lack of male influence in the lives of millions of young children is leading to carnage in several communities across our land.
      Civilization was built by men, it was nurtured by women. That’s the way it works. Women never built a broad based country, institution, or civilization from scratch, they supported what the men did. The female role is important and complementary. It’s just different, not less.
      Matriarchal society would be naive, ridiculous, weak, indecisive, and easily defeated. Just look at the poor bastards raised by single moms who consistently make poor decisions. That’s what society would look like. Our society and country has further weakened due to feminine influence in everything from schools, to the playground, to military policy.

      These women leaders have gone to war.
      * Margaret Thatcher
      * Queen Mary I of England
      * Mary, Queen of Scots
      * Joan of Arc
      * Catherine the Great
      * Catherine I
      * Golda Meir
      * Indira Ghandi
      * Queen Anne
      * Queen Elizabeth II
      * Cleopatra
      * Isabella of Spain
      * Maria Therese
      * Empress Maud
      * Catherine de Medici
      * Eleanor of Aquitaine
      * Zenobia of Palmyra
      * Boudicca
      * Benazir Bhutto
      And these:
      Hillary Clinton
      U.S. Secretary of State
      Confronted Pakistani leaders for harboring terrorists, advocated for a troop surge in Afghanistan, and warned Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi that no option is "off the table" for taking him out.
      Sheikh Hasina
      Prime Minister of Bangladesh
      Pursued a major offensive against Assam rebels, who had warred against India from Bangladesh's northeast for more than three decades.
      Cristina Fernández de Kirchner
      President of Argentina
      Revived the Thatcher-era struggle over the Falkland Islands, calling Argentina's claim to Britain's resource-rich land "inalienable."
      Angela Merkel
      Chancellor of Germany
      Vigorously defended Germany's involvement in Afghanistan (while remaining cautious on a Libyan intervention), even as domestic opposition to the war has grown.
      As for the question that women do not tend to violence, there are women murderers, serial killers, and female Nazi torturers like Ilse Koch and Irma Grese. Check out Katherine Knight and Elizabeth Bathory. And female child killers like Susan Smith. Additionally, women have killed their own children equally as frequently as men have.
      Perhaps there are only fewer women leaders who go to war, because there are fewer women leaders. The queen had no skin in the war, she stayed safe at the castle, the king on the other hand was sent off by the queen and had to lead the army into battle and kings often did not return

    The best arrangement would be no patriarchy, no matriarchy. One in which each and every person is respected and loved, and every person respects every person. One in which each person is valuable and valued, is able to contribute his or her unique talents and skills for the good of everyone. This cannot be forced using political correctness or by government edicts, but must come from people themselves. This would require a "Jesus moment" in everyone. Won't happen, of course, but it's a nice thought.

      somehow equal doesnt seem to exist - if there was a system that doesn't dictate roles in families -anarchy is probably the closest concept to allow the choice. to allow replacing incapable /abusive people holding positions. democracy is a great idea but the problem is the distance between people and decision makers. voting ? usually 2 strong organisations that either represent the same greedy men or similar greedy men behind them. and thats where choice ends. voting for any of those organisations will mean i voted for pollution , war , lies and corruption. unfortunately the communists were so successful with their anti anarchist propaganda ( 'chaos' 'lawless' etc) that the idea does not stand a chance. so me i am so ready for matriarchy because it can only get better and the last 2000 years was long enough to prove patriarchy works. it doesnt

      Forget Matrinial societies for a moment, Even in our main world the most Happiest countries in the world like Denmark, Iceland etc.has female Leaders. The most gender equal counties n the world like Iceland, Norway , Finland etc.has ruling female President or Prime minister. The countries with most effective Covid 19 countries like New Zealand etc.has ?your right if you guessed, Female leaders. Even in our country India if you're not Indian I will tell you in India there is Kashmir issues because of it Kashmir is not safe for Tourists. That issue is existence even since our Independence from the British. But during the reign of our first female Prime Minister, Kashmir became surprisingly safe because of her many decisions. Not only that soo many good things happened that none of the male leaders until now are even capable of doing. Even today many Indians say that Females are more capable of everything even decision making and ruling more and better than any men. Even many old people accept it. If women are given chance they make the world a better place they even takle terrorism and crimes more better you can see by how many places considered safest on the planet have female President or Prime Minister. Even in Matrinial societies even though female rule, rules are shaped in such a way by women that men cannot be discriminated against as men have equal rights there is no domination of either gender. Even many crimes which exists in male led places don't exist there even if both the places have equal population. So you can see men ruled for so many years the countries and the world is spoiled and unhappy but Women even in such less time they are capable of doing great things and take effective decisions than one can't even think when power is in mens hand. See I am not sexist women can't even be you can tell it just by having some knowledge which I think you must have got. Women are usually interested in developing the people and the world but it is not the case with men if it would have been than places were men rule would have been like the places were women rule are or even better but see the places were women rule are more better, safe happy, equal and many more good things exist in those places were Women rule but never were Men rule. Because in those places all have power but where men rule only men rule and only they have rights Women always have to fight it us not the case in the places where women rule there men don't have to fight for equality are people there are more happy. It's the fact and the reason why Patriarchy is ending in many places. Because Women:Power from Inside
      Men : Power from outside
      In Patriarchy only outside power exists but society even need power from Inside. In Matrinial or Places were women rule both power exist and men have power unlike in Patriarchy were only men have power that's the reason.

    I love stronger woman. Properties like tall, muscular, dominant, confidence really turns me on if a girl posses these🥰. I would really want to live in a pure matriarchal autonomous community where the traditional gender roles known from a typical patriarchy are reversed. I would do whatever such a girlfriend wants always pleasing her and make her as comfortable as I possibly can while sometimes playfully challange her to be defeated and put in my place again. That would be my personal utopia. And seeing the other guys as well being submissive partners of their girlfriends. But I think there are no true matriarchal communities like that in the world. Or am I wrong?
    Althrough some of these woman shown in this video do look very strong it's still not true matriarchy.
    I do see however girls in my own country getting increasingly taller and stronger looking however. I hope this trend will continue.

      Physically strong beats weaker is applicable in food chain not within same species of opposite sex if male in wild started beating females then either the female dies or gets injured and will not be able to survive and the kids survival will also get difficult without their mother as mother is the primary caregiver .
      Again men strength is given to protect women if instead of protecting they are dominating in a bad way and abusing women then they cant be called protectors but are abusers.

      @@user-tk7hg7wi3p the women here are utterly reliant on the men for income and survival while they prance around. The men on their fishing ships are the ones having any serious discussions. It is not anywhere close to a matriarchy here. The men are simply controlling their women by keeping them away and from being raunchy messes toward them.

      Also patriarchy is a staunch indo european trait. Even if they were a matriarchy, it would be a new invention, not the last matriarchy.

      You are partially correct but not totally.
      Patriarchy is the default condition for most societies.
      Indo-Europeans did accentuate though.
      Also,if you are an Angloid,then you are of mostly Celtic Origin,who again were Matrilineal.

    Matriarchy works well in a primitive society where ritual dancing is the only culture. Sclence and art can never exist where women have all political power. Unfortunately womens political power in Europe and USA have grown over the past 100 years to the degree of a matriarchate, more or less. The consequenses are stagnation of progress in relevant parts of human culture, such as art and science. The primitive dancing seen in the video is not to any benefit of any human society not living in the djungle.

      Patriarchy has been destroying this planet. Patriarchy is cancer to this Earth. Matriarch is nourishing and life giving and peaceful. It goes hand in hand with planet Earth. It is why evolution made females to live longer than males. She values the female rather than males. This is also seen in the animal kingdom. Doesn’t matter what you say or think. Can’t change biology. Go be with a man if that will turn you on better!😉
