  • @jaydj3601
    @jaydj3601 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Quick question, shouldn't the inner ductwork be the same height as the roof curb or doesn't it matter? Thought Frank's video showed it that way and also included a trim piece between the two before mounting the actual fan exhaust. Just wondering as I purchased the same hood and exhaust fan as you. Thanks for posting these videos.

      Ideally, yes. It’s okay with my local Fire Dept so I would encourage to check yours first! Mine doesnt come with the flat plate to join both together, but still works just fine!

    The top of the hood that bolts to the ceiling so you possibly know how wide it is from the wall?
    We have to fabricate the hood we got a little bit. Don’t want to cut the over head too short

      I want to guess maybe around 34-40” from the wall of the trailer (but I’d have to double check because I honestly can’t remember). Are you able to send a pic of the hood via the Instagram page? I’ll check it out

    Hello. I’m looking at doing something similar. Is there a reason you used two roof curbs? I see a smaller one and then a larger one the fan mounts to. Thank you

    I just have a question about the kind of screws or bolts you used to fix the fan to the Roof curb?
    I have my fan from Ventilation Direct that came with a wall mount braket that I'll use as roof curb but I have nothing to fixe it to the fan.
    Hope that makes sens. Sorry for my english, I'm french canadian!
    Thank you so much for your help!

    • @poormansfoodtruck
      @poormansfoodtruck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question!
      I purposefully hit the roof curb with two of the bolts holding up the concession hood. I also used several 3/4” Tek screws for extra security.
      On the brackets holding down the fan I used 4 heavy duty galvanized brackets that each took 8 3/4” Tek Screws (32 total).
      Hope this helps!

    Hi thanks for the video but I see the bottom of your exhaust fan is 19"x19" and the curb on the roof that your exhaust fan sits on said 19"x19" was one bigger or smaller? I wouldn't think it would fit.

    • @poormansfoodtruck
      @poormansfoodtruck  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question! So mine would just about bend/squeeze on top of each other. However I wasn’t happy with how secure it was so I decided to add 4 heavy duty galvanized brackets to each corner. Now it’s super solid! Check out the Instagram page I posted all the details there (posted June 15th 2022)

      I'm sorry it's a voice text... I heard the hood needs to be at least 3 inches wider on both sides pass the equipment.... I'm getting a 7ft hood and my equipment is 80 inches all together..can I pass the inspection with 2 inches on both sides pass the equipment?

    • @poormansfoodtruck
      @poormansfoodtruck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Which state are you located in? It could be different, but at least in FL the DPBR requires 6” either side of cooking equipment. So with 80” of equipment you’d need a 8ft hood. Only other thing you could do is eliminate a piece of equipment, or purchase some that are slightly smaller?

    I just hope that your city doesn't do what many cities around America are doing, where they start forcing people to use fire suppression. My city and your city are currently OK, but it's coming sooner or later, and when it does........have a plan in place.

  • @340neptune

    I noticed your switch on the wall. My ventilation direct fan came with it mounted and wired (connected) inside the fan. Did you relocate yours from the fan, add an additional switch, or did yours come loose from ventilation direct? Any ideas on how to relocate my switch to inside the trailer?

    • @poormansfoodtruck
      @poormansfoodtruck  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question! So there’s actually two switches (one on the fan itself and another inside the trailer). The one on the fan should be permanently switched “on”, and it’s then controlled solely by the switch inside the trailer. You would turn the fan switch “off” if you were planning on doing any additional work/maintenance. Hope this helps!

    • @340neptune
      @340neptune ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@poormansfoodtruck yes, there's an on/ off switch on my fan, as well as a speed control switch. I'm speaking strictly about the speed control switch. Are you saying you have two speed control switches, one in the fan, one in the trailer?

    • @poormansfoodtruck
      @poormansfoodtruck  ปีที่แล้ว +1
