It's amazing how the PlayStation 1 completely warped the taste of an entire generation of gamers. I just watched this video, and practically all the games look almost identical to each other; they are mediocre in every possible way (gameplay, graphics, art style, console capabilities). Even the most acclaimed titles barely manage to stand out a bit from the rest, but the passage of time has crushed them like a truck. I'm infinitely grateful to have owned a Dreamcast, Nintendo 64 and GameCube during the whole PlayStation craze, because thanks to that, my gaming judgment always remained well above average.
