- In the hills of Piedmont, CA lies this incredible english tutor. Over 12,000 sqft of living space and every room has its strength and moment that keeps you captivated. Traditional stained glass windows, arched doorways, and a backyard fit for a fairytale.
This was quite the fun project to shoot. Getting the details and the size to both come through. Sitting on top of a hill and above the rest of the surrounding homes, I knew twilight drone images would pop. I hope you enjoy the video! Follow for more Home Tours.

After watching several house tours of uninviting modern homes that look like glorified boxes, this one is absolutely mind-soothing and looks very tranquil and homely.
Modern design make me sick, classical designs like this feel cozy and welcoming.
@@STBSAMohdTahasame bro, classic houses feel royal to me
THIS IS MY HOUSE, CLAIMING IT AS A FUTURE PROFESSOR
Not sure a prof is going to be able to afford THAT, but I'm pulling for you! 🤣
Good for you! Not sure that salary will be enough. In 2021 it was reduced to 10.9M. Who knows what it could go for now. Good luck!
@@davidcattin7006 wtf 10.9 m is it for real check again
12000 sq ft? Too much house for me
The furniture choices are... interesting. I'd redecorate it in a dark academia style.
I was about to say the same thing. Love the house, hate the staging.
The staging absolute butchered the house
This is Light Academia interior style, imo. And I agree that Dark Academia interior style more suitable for this house, but probably the owner don't like dark color, since it also need more lighting (means more expensive electricity bills).
@@aubreysong I don't know... this looks more "modern." 1:32. This looks like something you'd see at a poorly designed hotel reception area.
I almost choked on my tea as soon as I saw the modern white furniture lol
Love the home and the gardens. The kitchen is lovely. The furniture is jarring. Cold and stark. It does not match the warmth of the original home esthetic.
Brilliant observation. Those were exactly my thoughts! That horrible furniture clashes with its architectural surroundings. The ideal type of furniture for that house would be something sober but elegant, like Chippendale or Sheraton.
@@arslongavitabrevis5136 Brilliant observation! Are you going to paste this identical reply under every single comment here?
@@braxhartmanleave it bro, don’t bother yourself by some bot comments
I agree. The furniture is just plain AWFUL. An insult to these beautiful interiors.
Totally agree !!! The exterior was WOW , but the interior decor did not fit my ideal image of this home . Would have been so much better with a much more traditional look . Oh well , not my money or my home !
Beautiful home, hideous furnishings.
Brilliant observation. Those were exactly my thoughts! That horrible furniture clashes with its architectural surroundings. The ideal type of furniture for that house would be something sober but elegant, like Chippendale or Sheraton.
Beautiful home, but without the contemporary furniture. I would like to have seen it with English Country, antiques and vintage, ❤
The house and architecture are gorgeous. IMHO, the stark white, plain modern furnishings do it a disservice.
Beautiful house. Thankfully the furniture can go away.
BAHAHHAH I thought the same thing

@@arslongavitabrevis5136 Chippendale's 18th century. What's wrong with mixing old with the new. Anyway, are there truly any genuine Tudor architectural properties in the US, especially in CA?
I totally agree. It's in stark contrast with the overall architecture and vibes of the house and grounds.
The house is beautiful. I don't understand the modern furniture. It looks very out of place and detracts from the home's charm.
I agree, that was my first thought
It looks like the hired a professional stager. To Freshen up the look. I honestly don't think someone looking at a home like that.... would ever use that type of Furniture. Either that or it's a photo shoot property for a Furniture company. Either way the home is Esquisite!😊
You took the words out of my mouth! 😂 Contemporary beige furniture aren’t compatible with this house. I was expecting to see some beautiful antique treasures inside !
I actually think more modern pieces can lead to a cool eclectic look, but there's absolutely way too much beige. The walls provide a good canvass for pops of color rather than just more white lol, but staging tries to be as inoffensive as possible so I get why (which leads to the most boring outcomes)
I think ya'll are crazy. A modern take is exactly what a home like this needs. Just because you like Tudor architecture/finishings doesn't necessarily mean you want to furnish your house to look and feel like you're living in your great grandparent's home. That said, I also don't really like the furnishings either but not because they're modern. It's clearly just furniture for staging so it feels impersonal. A modern and eclectic interior decorating would be amazing there.
Pretty exterior. Loath the interior, particularly the furniture.
Love the interior. It's light, fresh and uplifts the heavy darkness of Tudor-style architecture.
@@misst.e.a.187 the furniture is hideous
@@adieljonsson864 good thing its not your house and wont ever be.

You already had me at the grand staircase. My kind of house, exudes timeless elegance and sophistication.
Yes, that staircase and archway was just beautiful.

I'm like the other person whose name starts with a k I think that the modern furniture in this beautiful Tudor home doesn't look quite right in it messes with the beauty and the charm of the Tudor time frame any🦉who y'all have a blessed day and night ❤️.
Isn't it mock Tudor though?
One of the most beautiful houses I have ever seen. As others have mentioned, the furniture can easily be swapped out.
Yes, thankfully it can be swapped out! The decor is atrocious for this home. The only way to ease this beautiful home of its upset stomach is to open up the doors and get that modern decor out of it. It’s very lovely decor, but not for a Tudor. It’s like an untuned violin in the hands of an unskilled student at their first lesson. Yes, let’s just go sit outside by the pool…
The house is beautiful and that's what matter, whoever bought the house can easily change the furnishings to something more appropriate.
I love how the integrity of the home was kept, but with the modern take on furnishings it felt fresh and not stuffy. The details of the architecture really stood out with the simple furnishings.
That is a great way of putting it.
What a phenomenal home. Not really into the furnishings but that's an easy fix. Thankfully, renovations didn't ruin the character of the house.
Phenomenal you mean my friend.
It was only after I watched this video that I discovered this house is in California! I'm in disbelief! The furniture is unique and is an intentional contrast to the home. Well done!
Tudors in their varying forms are pretty much my favorite style of residential architecture… this home is utterly stunning in exterior representation, and as much as they could adhere to it in the interior, did very well - however, I have to agree with some of the other comments on the thread about the entertainment space furnishings, they seem almost anachronistic.
I would’ve done a transitional theme, so at least you had something traditional that was a tad more contemporary in its representation
The grounds are colorful and lush, the wall treatments are true to style, the ceiling lighting are appropriately period, and works well
Remarkable Classic Exterior Combination..... with Modern and Functional Interior......
Modern houses are made to look like hotels because the owners wanna feel like they are always on vacation. But you never stay on vacation more than a week. Hotels dont focus on making it a good place to be in but they make them to house as many people as possible. The majority of the time on vacation you wont spend in the hotel itself because it isnt very homely. Maybe i got a little side tracked but this is the most ideal house to raise a family in. Its very inviting and cozy.
How modernity can fit inside a classic, elegant home shows the strength of the architecture.
Knockout renovation. I don’t usually imagine living in such a period house but this knocked my socks off. Also not usually a fan of beige but with the beautiful dark wood and using white this is the best use of a neutral palette that I’ve seen. Very easy to see how to compliment and insert warm accents with soft furnishings and artwork. Also great to see that you don’t need curtains or blinds except for the most private rooms. Garden design also super. A total dream house.
The house is stunning! 🤩 The bones of the house are phenomenal but why use modern furniture 💔 it takes the beautiful charm away from the initial feeling presented outside. Such a pity the owners don’t seem to appreciate the look and feel that it had intended when it was built. One of the most beautiful houses made. Wow!
Some people don't want to feel like they're living in a museum. My contemporary furniture and artwork goes very well in my 130-year-old Queen Anne house.
Brilliant observation. Those were exactly my thoughts! That horrible furniture clashes with its architectural surroundings. The ideal type of furniture for that house would be something sober but elegant, like Chippendale or Sheraton.
I actually like what they've done.
@@davidcattin7006 Real Tudor can be extremely oppressive and heavy, imo. I much prefer Edwardian.
@@davidcattin7006 It's funny because the modern furniture made the interior seem more art museum-like to me lol. I woulld definitely prefer some more comfortable "lived in" pieces (think: leather sofas, comfy accent chairs, etc.) with a bit of color as well.
I actually like the juxtaposition of the modern furniture in such beautiful & traditional architecture 🤭 beautiful home!
me too!
Same
Using classic pieces will pretty much work in every situation. I like the look; it’s understated and in my opinion, ALLOWS the architecture to be the star!
My contemporary furniture works very well in my Queen Anne house. I'm not an old lady, so trying to do the museum look with furnishings from the era was never an option.
I love Tudor houses. This one was updated while still having its original charm and character. So perfect for me if I had 6 kids lol but too big for me because I live alone.
Need a longer tour for this house please 🙏
I actually like the contrast of the traditional and the modern.
Same here. Everyone moaning that they've ruined it probably romanticises that old is always better. Real Tudor is very dark and heavy
I actually love it too, the modern with the old, it's a nice contrast and lightens the place up, I feel like actual Tudor-style furniture would darken it too much.
And it gives the impression that people have lived here over time ❤
The furniture is such an easy fix when you have house that beautiful and majestic already. ❤😍
STUNNING. EVERY design decision is perfection.
But very inauthentic to Tudor architecture.
Awe inspiring open clean uncluttered , cozy, modern enough. Just stunning
Beautiful home❤ Atrocious furniture!
I am loving the faurytale like house with tastefully modern furniture! It gives the home a feeling like it's outside of time...

I used to walk by this house all the time. Cool to know what it looks like inside. Piedmont has so many amazing tudors!
I love when I am reluctant to watch another house video and then its not just a house, but a magnificent magical home that is seasoned yet modern. Perfect.
Thank you so much for sharing.
🌿♥️♥️♥️🌿
P.S. Fuse ball table is awesome.
This is a beautiful home too bad they didn’t decorate it to match.
I love when older style homes and architecture are brought current with beautiful finishes and furnishings. This is a great pairing of an older architecture with modern details. The minimalist in me LOVES this. Everything looks clean, fresh, warm and inviting. Great work!!
I agree. That's because you can appreciate old architecture but know you still live in the present.
@@jonna3474 Oh, that's perfectly said! I have contemporary furniture and artwork in my 130-year-old Queen Anne and it works beautifully.
Most tasteful home I'd ever seen.
Absolutely stunning!
Wow just wow. I love the old radiators in the wall. The long hall way, all the wood accents and shape of the doors. The landscaping is beautiful. This house looks like it was loved. Thank you 🤗👍🏽👏🏽🏆
Stunningly beautiful.
Absolutely LOVE the mixing of Eras. When I saw the library I said out loud “Awww no books?!” 📚 😅 This is my dream home. 🏡
It's so good!
When Realtors use books in staging, I wonder how many go missing?
I’d furnish it a bit differently, but I still quite like the furnishings. I think that the contrast between the “light” furnishings and the “heavy” finishes of the house creates an interesting and unexpected dynamic while still being easy on the eyes. I also love the landscaping!
probably the first time I found modern furnitures looking really good in such an old house. somehow it didn’t look out of place & it looked very cosy withe the old & new combined. tasteful
Gorgeous and grand.
Absolutely beautiful!
I love the outside!! 😍😍
Beautifully shot.
Elegance, charm and beauty.
Gorgeous home!
Very cosy and splendid... 👍
It is beautiful, inside!
I believe we can enjoy, appreciate and even own old architecture without deeming we must also surround our interior design in the same era. Life is to be enjoyed through the beauty of the past but to also live in the now.
so beautiful💖
Perfection!
Absolutely amazing.
Dream home! No notes. ❤

This was such a beautiful home
Beautiful 😍
Absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you! Cheers!
This house looks so inviting and cozy
Bright and cozy 🎉🎉❤❤
I love this home. At its heart it is a modern house that could easily pass for a Tudor in the English countryside. The design is quite refined I love the juxtaposition of the modern furniture with the Tudor-inspired design. The grounds and the views from the rooms Into the gardens are amazing. Reminds me of a popular video on TH-cam of the home of Knud Erik Hansen the descendant and head of the Carl Hansen Furniture Co home in Denmark - A 16th century Danish manor tastefully filled with modern and Midcentury Modern furniture.
Beautiful
For a minute, I thought this was in the UK..What a beautiful home😍
Love the bedrooms and cool rooms and gardens. Too many homes today are so lacking in gardens.
Gorgeous.
Wonderful house and video tour. 👏
Love the medieval style! Some modern furniture pieces would work but I think it needs to be mixed with some older pieces as well. If you do a modern couch, maybe try some historical chairs and coffee table? It would look better then I think 😊
I love everything in this video 😍
Wow. This is the house of my dream.
Splendid

The gouse is beautiful and elegant. 😊
Apart from the LEDs on the ceiling which look low-end, very nice renovation!

Building a Tudor home in California is wild.
This house was built over a hundred years ago by anglo tradesmen
@@user-gt2yf5tr8j1930 isn't over a century ago
Tudor revival looks odd in itself. Outside the UK is even more senseless
i was wondering what a Tudor was doing in the middle of non-Tudor houses..? on a different continent even?
@@PleochroicRainfall there are many old tudor homes in North & South America. Even mamy in South Africa & Australia
@@ceruleangolem4936 if you think that, don’t read about the Storybook Style in California in the same period, it’ll blow your mind
im(h)o, the soft, neutral furniture allows the architecture of the house to brought to the foreground. I enjoy the juxtaposition of the woodwork (shape+colour) and the furniture(shape+colour) with some unifying elements (geometry+colours). Those electric candle sconces are perfect! The mirror placement to reflect the angles of the stairwell is lovely, as well. I also like how the arched doorway is not wooden or dark (it could have been!), and that it's a light colour to bring some warmth alongside those electric candle scones. What could have been heavy, dark, dreary has now a light and airy feel to it, merely grounded by the earth-tones of the woodwork instead of bogged down by it. Who built and decorated this house? Will you take my soul as satisfactory payment?
Wow kia ghar hai 😮❤
Beautiful simply beautiful
