    I like how people are expecting deliveries and want you to put it in all these tight spaces but they don't even have the common sense or decency to move their damn vehicle out of the way.

      @@ronburgundy7127 I drove a forklift for years and would have other departments ask me for help and I was usually happy to oblige. I could thread a needle with a forklift but some people would make it unnecessarily difficult. You'd go over to help and there would be a dozen things in your way that they could have taken care of before hand. Some people don't value other people's time or effort. I had my own production job to do. I wasn't there to serve them.
      Just like this guy, he's probably skilled enough to put that load anywhere they needed it if given 30-45 minutes to maneuver around all their obstacles, but all it takes is one broken sprinkler head, or septic line, or rose bush, and all his effort is for naught. It's just not worth it. Help the people that appreciate you and have a place prepared. Tell the others to pound sand.

    If you want your drywall dropped inside, buy it from an actual drywall company and have them stock it wherever you need it. If you’re paying home depot prices, you get Home Depot product and Home Depot delivery. And they don’t do stuff like that. Instead of bitching about it, be mad at yourself for not getting your materials from a place that puts stuff inside like you want it.

Especially when it can open you up to personal liability if something unfortunate happens while you're trying to do your good deed...which we know doesn't go unpunished. Make no mistake, if you're being captain helpful and taken in the extra effort of moving materials inside for somebody and they do something stupid like get in your way and end up with something dropped on their foot or knocked over or who knows what else, they aren't likely to show you similar courtesy in not suing the hell outta you for injuring them...which home Depot isnt going to stand behind you on because you were outside the scope of work. And dont forget, those drivers are contractors. They aren't getting paid on a clock they can ride to do a favor for some customer. They get paid by the deliver so any time he wastes being a boy scout literally is costing him money he could be making on the next run plus the fuel his equipment is burning while being Niceguy Eddie, the time he burns may delay him into running in rush hour traffic at the end of the day, among other things, all of which cost him money. Yep. My neighbor ordered a floor model refrigerator from Home Depot. Apparently floor models come curbside only as they are delivered by the local store and not the manufacturer hired truck.
      Anyway, she and her mom begged and pleaded with the driver to bring it around back through the condo gate that was really tight. The driver scratched the door handle on the gate and without even a blink of an eye they told him to take it back and refused the delivery. Fucking b-tches. The fridge showed up a week later with a new handle that I’m sure the driver ate. So she hires “Mr Handyman” to bring the new fridge up up two flights of stairs but only pays for a one man crew and the guy just had a cheapo hand truck. “That’s the whole point of delivery, so you can put it inside the garage?” Really? I just had 3 cords of wood delivered, it was dumped in piles and he left. I wouldn’t expect it be stacked and put away too! Him being a contractor, he should know better.

    • @Josh.1234

      Wood cord delivery isn't the same as building suppliers. Professional building suppliers will put it nearly anywhere and will wrap it in plastic.

      @OOceaneyess 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Josh.1234 I know wood delivery is not the same. I was just saying that I don’t expect it to be piled as people shouldn’t expect “curbside deliveries” to be neatly put away where ever they choose. Curbside means Curbside. Make prior arrangements and here’s a thought, maybe pay for it to be put otherwise, THEN expect more. Also, some places don’t allow for huge trucks to do otherwise. Like here in the California mountains where I live.

      @@OOceaneyess the order had notes to put it in the garage. Obviously the person taking the order was not clear with the contractor that it wasn't possible to put in the garage. Can't blame the contractor if they aren't being specific about what can and Connor be done.

    I just got a few pallets of bricks delivered from Lowe's. I had no idea that "curb side" delivery literally meant on the curb. When the driver arrived he stopped to unload in the street. I thought it was weird because I have a wide circle drive that would have made everything so much easier. He was cool about it and even dropped everything in the yard where I asked. Stupid question: Why does the sales order ask for specific delivery instructions if the only option is curb side? I did request the pallets be dropped beside my garage and I made sure there was enough room to maneuver in the yard. I was very pleased with the service and will order again.

      Usually it all about time on site and public liability. . I have delivered sheets of Gyprock ( dry wall in the states) and I crane it off onto the property , then they think you have time to help carry sheets under cover. The longer you play around on site the more chance things can go wrong. If people want something other than kerbside, then they must pay for the Time. Standard delivery drivers are on time Schedules, and can't spend time on sites worrying about a customer's problems. Reason a delivery Template has delivery notes is to accommodate more of the pre-arranged and Simple delivery process. And unless organised and EASY access is available , forget about it..

    Idk about you but every time we get a delivery scheduled we always make sure that someone is there to meet with them cause if not they just drop it off at the address take a picture an leave. Unless you are there to tell them where you want it they will put it where ever they think is best, an if the space is too small they put it as close as possible for youbut the rest is all by hand for liability purposes. But it’s not their jobs to load it in a garage after taking it off the truck. Much appreciation to the delivery drivers out there🤙🏽

    Take the truck keys with you, out of the ignition. Just takes 1 yahoo to see your vids, know where you're at, and seize the opportunity. ✌

      Yeah I learned that the hard way one time in Camden NJ, left the keys in the rig to go negotiate a deal to unload a trailer full of car tires with a lumper. Someone "tried" to steal my rig but didn't make it one block, they tried to cut a tight right turn and and the trailer got hung up on the curb and they bailed. Even the police said to sit in his car while we filed the report. He said it was "like a jungle out there." Haha

    I really enjoy your videos but I have a question I’m sure you’ve covered. Why can’t you have your attorney draw a form up saying your not liable for damages.

    • @SaffordDelivery

      since we are third-party contracted the customer thinks that we work directly for the shipper and then when they claim that we damage their property they think that they're suing the Fortune 500 company the shipper and they don't realize that they are coming directly after us. So sometimes the claims will be dropped but sometimes customers don't care either way they just want their property fixed or redone at someone else's expense and the shipper will Make us pay for it even with their waiver signed with the customer. We've been burned before We have another video coming out soon that will probably be called the original Karen.

      @@SaffordDelivery this is exactly what happens the customer only cares a bout his delivery and thinks we as drivers can do miracles they don't care if you damage your truck or anything else

      Which is why companies like the depot used third party for deliveries. Love the ones that claim you damaged something until you prove it was pre existing.

    Sheetrock suppliers on Houston stack my Sheetrock inside the house split on first and second floor, 3 guys 260 sheets 12ft the company charged me $125 for delivery fee , but this guys earn $100 tip each for doing that for me.
    I don't know how or how much this guys make but I don't see any money for them there, thanks for all the delivery guys that try to help customers.

    I think if you accept a job then you accept whatever is in the notes unless you call the customer to make a different agreement before you show up.

    Used to do the same job for slows had to take 1/2 a flatbed load up a 1/4 mile drive that was nothing but ruts and clay guy says just put it in the garage ok so I did. two hours later I ask is everything there and ok. He looks it over say all good signature on paper work off I go. A week later he claims I damaged the concrete in the garage Moffet never went in the Garage doesn't matter He gets $3000 for repair of concrete that wasn't damaged.

    I have a question for you, since you don't do deliveries into garages if asked by a customer if you could bring a pallet jack for them to wheel it into their garage would you?

    • @SaffordDelivery
      @SaffordDelivery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. They have box truck teams for that.
