- In this video I go over the cost to buy and build this 1985 IROC-Z and do a test drive! I put on new emblems, decals and pinstripes and paint some areas matte black.

Massive amount of work to get this one going, but you did it and it runs and drives and looks pretty good 👍 The little details you did at the end definitely made it.
Thanks
Lee! You brought this car back from the dead! It’s a great driver! You’ll eventually find a parts car and get all the parts you need.
Thanks
I think you’d get top dollar with a Polish of the paint job.
Back in the late 80’s those cars were everywhere.
I called them U2 cars cause it seemed everyone said U got one too?
Hanging out at the Jersey shore we said IROC stood for Italian Ret**ts Out Cruising.😂🤣😂
I get the door guards but don’t like the way they look.
Good job Lee!
Its value is growing. Hang onto it, keep your eyes open for parts and pick the project back up later. Nice work!
The nicest thing I can come up with about the IROC build is , no comment.
You can't win them all. You've had a good run lately, the last 4 or 5 builds were pretty decent.
Looks good but I'd paint the door handles and locks black as well.

Great job Mr.Lee it looks like a good Saturday night car.
Thanks
I love my 92, I’ve had it since 96 and it ain’t going anywhere.
Nicely done. I used to get so sick of these; they were everywhere in '80s and '90s. Now, on the rare occasion I see one, they make me feel nostalgic. :D
not many left driving around
And once again a very good job done. She looks good. Perfection in budget builds is overrated. I prefer your YT channel over others because you are honest and always work the way , like I and many others did in the 80s and 90s .
Thanks
You did very well considering the car's starting condition. When selling, we go through several low ballers before finding the one person who appreciates the car. Don't get discouraged. I probably over paid for my Firebird but, I got a quality conditioned example.
The Camaro will look so much better with the Decals on the doors.
Looks FANTASTIC
it has the decals on the doors
Sorry I wasn't paying attention
I hope that you are not upset with me making a mistake.
Do the door handles and locks flat black, spraybomb will do. Looks good brother! Walmart $30 seat covers.👌
Well done! I've been watching your videos and like your no nonsense approach!
Thanks
Cars turned out nice lee for all the agrgrovation it caused you, hats off to you, ide love to see a walk round of the cars you have built but not seen in detail on the channel, the pontiac, nova, ect dig them out see them running you got quite the collection growing now going to need some more cover for them, always enjoy your builds all the best 👍
Back to life! I’m always impressed by your work.
Thanks
Where’s the cats at? Car looks great
That's right. I haven't seen the cats in a while.
My friends and I use to back yard paint 3/4 acre lots , lots of room .We made a booth that looked like an old shed with an aluminum floor and doors out of a wrecked semi trailer , worked well. One day the fire department payed us a visit and said no more .Was it the paint smell in the air or too many clunkers now looking good ? Those were fun fun times .
Man, I subscribed to your channel because you do Working Class rebuilds. I'm thoroughly impressed by your work. I've really enjoyed all of your builds. The Chevelle, The Silverado, and now this IROC-Z! These are some of my All-Time favorite cars and trucks. My jaw hit the floor when you revealed the final product. No, it's not a Concours quality build. But it it looks AMAZING to me! Cheers!
Thanks
I’m glad your done the Camaro 👍🏻 can’t wait to see what you do with the van … love the van it’s cool
Thanks
Thanks
Looky heah…. I wish you would paint my 73 Nova SS Hatch, but I know you don’t do customer work … ain’t we cousins ?? 😂😂😍 nice work, sir❤️
That car would be great for a young guy or a great starting point for a iroc guy who wants just a clean driver to enjoy. Looks right fine to me.
Good to see the IROC finished. Looking forward to what's next?
1977 Malibu
Thanks.
lee it really looks awesome you gave it a new least of life you never gave up on it and it runs and sound great. happy father's day to you and your dad
Thanks
Great job! Nice car for the money you have in it. You didn’t include your costs for paint prep materials. Primer, abrasives, masking supplies etc. But I’d say you still could make a decent profit if you decide to let it go. Really enjoy your channel
You're right, I forgot. About $100 worth.
Looks great Lee! amazing difference from what it was. great job
Thanks
Totally not worth restoring but you saved that car and you will make a little money on it when you sell it. Nice work and thriftiness on the build. You did great and I hope you find a buyer when the time comes. Way to keep it real and way to show and inform new people to the hobby what it really takes to refurbish and build cars.
Thanks
Fought you the whole way but turned out great considering, nice work Lee 👊🏻
Thanks
It's looks great I had when I was growing up you outstanding job
Thanks
Well done!
Thanks
Silver ground effects also would be killer. Or gold. They pop.👍
Looks badass. I hate sanding and buffing too but can you imagine how that thing would pop if you did it.
Thanks
I think the Camaro turned out pretty nicely.
You have to have A stopping point take care
Thanks
Nice job Lee!👍
Thanks
Nice job Lee
Thanks
Another great build! Really looking good
Thanks
We shot my camaro midnight blue metalic in my friends back yard.back way like decades ago. the paint was single stage. i got the same results you did. it cost me 70 bucks for everything. i let him paint it.peace...
The IROC looks good after you painted it.
Thanks
Looks beautiful door edge guard would be better red but no biggie
Looks pretty darn good!
Thanks
It would be interesting to see if you score some needed parts on the cheap to continue work on this car.
Looks really good ! Great job
Thanks
Good save from the dead. They a fun car. Think I’d flat it back and clear over everything. It’s a good sat night special. Second car. Play thing for the money. Good job. 👍
I feel ya on the paint it still looks really good
Thanks
Lee, this is one car I bet you're glad it's done! Good job bro!
Thanks
It turned out great!
Thanks
Nice job.
Thanks
Good build. Now for a series on buying scrap cars and sell parts etc to generate funds for more carports to get these cars out of the weather
The flat black areas that you did really set it off. If the tires will need to be replaced anyway, white letters out would really set it off.
Nice build. I agree with you, they are not worth a ton of money, but I think their body style is only second to the first generation Camaros in looks.
Great job. Nice car saver.
Thanks
Looks good Lee, 👍
Thanks
Lee excellent job🏁
Thanks
52:55 Bunkers and classics you done a great job on that
I like it you made it look 100% better a good price on it I enjoyed build of it but if you think about it the front seats you have the bottom is it still die the two top make it blend in or just leave it like it is and somebody will put some seat covers on it open up the older ones I'll be watching on the next bill you do a great job
Thanks
Looks great. Good job👍💯
Thanks
Wow it looks amazing Lee. Great job.
Thanks
Another one in the fold! Looks good for what it is my brother, keep'em coming.
Thanks
Lee! Wonderful job on the Z! You could easily get 5 to 7k down here on the Gulf Coast of Texas! 💕 Your work, looks great! I'm waiting for the Chevelle show! The Van is 😎 also! Thank You!
Thanks
Looks pretty darn good to me Lee excellent job 😁👍
Thanks
@@clunkersandclassics yw
Much improved
Thanks
I would paint the door handles and locks black when you have time. The rest of the paint job and striping looks great ! The black side molding looks fine black to me too.
Thanks
Looks great Lee ! It takes alot of patience to fix up a car like that. You could probably get 6-7 k for it up here in northern Vermont. Not many of those around anymore.
Thanks
great job Lee
Thanks
Sir that looks AWESOME in the Orlando Florida area you could get 4k to 7k for that car
Thanks
Looks good 👍🏻 LEE!!! I know they a lot of work i have one!! She definitely worth 5k around where im at you got to consider that Camaro has a really solid body and undercarriage for the t top Camaro 💯👍🏻✌🏻 hugs to Nikki 💞✌🏻
Thanks
looks great ...good job lee
Thanks
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⛵ yes the paint looks a little dry but overall it's an awesome looking car Lee. Somebody buys it they can cut and buff if they like. You took a derelict pile of crap and turned it into a decent driving vehicle, that's all you need. Keep up the great work and the awesome content buddy 👍✌️🇺🇲
Thanks 👍
Great revival excellent result.
Thanks
Maryland DC area you can get $7k easy for that. Nicely built as usual.
Thanks
Camaro looks good congratulations
Thanks
👍
Yes you do your builds cheap but that’s what you should do I have yet seen a build that was not very very nice build you do a lot more then most do cause they are very drive able and still nice to look at keep doing it
Thanks
Its a diamond in the rough for now you will pick up trim at swap meets over time and complete it unless you sell and 5 grand sounds cheap.
👍👍👍
If it's pinging, it means the distributer is too far advanced. Back it off gradually and test it until it stops pinging but not too far to where it's retarded. Looking good!
Looking great Lee I said it be fore you are art stress try the team China seat covers better then what you look good like 30
It's perfect I like it
Thanks
Hey Lee, it's amazing all the work you do. Question, how is the POR 15 holding up on the frame and undercarriage on some of your older builds? Any rust coming back or peeling? I'm restoring an old Pontiac and want to use the best product. Great job as usual. Thanks, take care and keep up the good work.
POR15 is a permanent fix over rust
Lee can you take it to hot rod power tour please
Did you ever move that one side of the exhaust muffler to the back and maybe a mobile detailer can come out and buff it out for few bucks
🏁 Awesome job Lee!! 🇺🇲🏁🏁🏁😎🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Thanks

Thats what i was thinking , you could probably get 8 for it
What about hole in the floor ?
I'll fix it later and POR15 all the underneath
@@clunkersandclassics awesome cant wait 😎
Bro, C'mon, you need to at least buff it out.
You almost have to keep. I know your labor on that car would be more than 1900 dollars
Its temu

Paint door handles and locks. Sacrilegious in the 3rd gen world. Makes them look cheap.
I don’t see anything wrong with it. I like it better without the computer.
