You should do a video highlighting the work these guys do. These guys are real hero’s. Great opportunity to create some awareness as I really don’t think people understand some of these people save life’s for free
Great idea. They were rescued from a dangerous situation by modern day hero’s, that are mainly volunteers, and are owed a lot, deserving full recognition
RNLI does not charge for its services, typical estimates for their expenses are: General Estimated Costs: 1. Inshore Lifeboat Call-Out (shorter, coastal rescues): Approximately £1,000-£2,500 per launch. 2. All-Weather Lifeboat Call-Out (larger vessels for longer or more challenging rescues): Can range from £5,000 to £10,000+, depending on fuel, crew time, and equipment usage.
That famous line from 'Jaws' springs to mind haha. Glad you're so humble and I think the RNLI will get a few donations from this clip! At the end of the day nobody died and you learn from your mistakes. As always love the content harry!!
Yeah... Forget the electric power, 6hp pff even a 4hp would push that boat along steadily. upgrade that boat to something with a v hull and a 10hp you'd be there in half the time.
Yeah what an adventure wasting the coastguards time for some views on TH-cam, literally sum up everything that’s wrong with this generation like get a grip
@@louisstephens5976 Why don't you get a grip? They didn't intend to get lost at sea, it was an accident. Saving people who get in danger on the water is what the lifeguards are all about.
I reckon if his mate wasn’t such a constant whine in his ear and gave scape a second to think, he would have figured it out himself without needing SOS
Everybody saying that his matey was panicking too much, would of acted the exact same The Sea is a scary beast!! big up the lads, well done making it back safely shouts out to the RNLI
You guys should watch the "I shouldn't be alive" episode on TH-cam of the two kayakers who got lost at sea. It's a lot like this but they nearly died, excellent watch.
What's next guys, Everest? bareback lion riding? On a serious note you made an error of judgement, recognised it and got help quick, well done guys. Fantastic RNLI
"I dont take Ls i only learn from mistakes" W momment. and i agree with that. hope we will have more content soon o-o I miss the scooter / biking challenges videos a lot man bring some of it back that would be DOPE!
Man you are NOT stupid, you were just unprepared, and that happens to anyone who doesn’t think/plan the complete mission through or doesn’t have the experience. I think you should try again, but before you do, do a little test on the range of your battery, test a similar distance with 2 or 3 batteries nearer shore, or even ask the NRLI if they can show you how to keep safe at sea, they are a charity who is very good at sharing their knowledge to keep more people safe, I’m sure they would at least be willing to show you around their training facility in Pool and give you some tips. Another idea is to hire a support boat to be a few 100m behind you just in case, at least that way you don’t need to be embarrassed when you do ask for help.
I tried to windsurf out to the forts, from Sheppey, when I was a teenager. I also had to get rescued 😅 - Though it was before GPS SOS and mobile phones, so I just had to do quite a lot of waving..
Well that was really stupid but glad you can learn from it. It's a really good thing you called the coastguard when you did, if you had left it much longer you would have drifted even further and been even harder to find, and once it got dark it would have been really hard, and you'd be truly fucked. Dunno why people are giving your mate a hard time in the comments he truly understood the danger and knew when it was time to quit.
I don't really get the hate, people cope with stressful situations very differently, I understand the panic. If you had had no possibility of reaching anyone ashore you'd probably have died.
Ah yess then, haven’t watched you in years bro, since the og rooftop days 🤣 your to funny how you had to call RNLI 🤣🤣 what did they say to you once you were on board🤣🤣🤣
Bro doesnt your friend know that if you have an SOS button, dont use it until the last possible moment? Especially for someone like Harry, he would know what to do and when to do it.
To be honest they was probably glad to meet someone English at sea. They spend most of their time bringing the illegal immigrants to shore. Which costs a fortune but no one moans about that!
Hope this video goes viral for you to help the coast guards.should off taken few of them bike batteries with you you might off made it back to shore then❤
I don't get why people say people fucking about are wasting valuable resources. Literally the rescue services soul reason is to help people who fucked up. Doesn't matter how they fucked up.
There's needing to be rescued because your boat gets damaged in weather, or the main equipment and the backup fails; and then there's going out ill prepared and causing the problem yourself. In fairness to Harry, they were less badly prepared than about half the people the RNLI help, BUT that trolling motor setup should only have ever been a backup to a proper engine. A 2-4 hp engine and a few litres of fuel would have got them there and back, and they would have had the electric as a backup. Or they could have tested the charge setup going upriver first - to not even get there on the the charge you have available to you for the the whole trip is simply reckless.
@@iamaparanoidandroid1 nope. There's needing to be rescued and there's needing to be rescued. That's it. Doesn't matter if you're on a £2 dingy at sea or a £2000000 yacht.
to be fair to Harry he said he did a bunch of research and talked to experienced sailors who told him that the trip was safe to attempt. He was imitating people who had successfully made the same trip on paddle boards. He had every reason to believe the trip was safely achievable.
That bloke you was with , never take him with you on ANY trips or adventures again he’s not experienced in any thing and hasn’t been bought up properly. Charging your phone on your only electric motor was a brave choice

Didn’t really over react, without a rescue they’d probably die at sea lol

From the comments I thought your mate was gonna have a full on melt down. He literally just said facts lol

Calling the RNLI was the right decision but he was annoying af with his yapping the whole time
