  • After nearly 3 years since the launch of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, I finally gave in and bought the game after being scarred by Odyssey, did it live up to the mixed reception? Let's find out.

It's so strange to me how after Origins, Odyssey went full RPG, but then Valhalla half heartedly backtracked to something in between Origins and Odyssey. Many of the reviews I've seen have mentioned the same concern about the levelling system: the skill tree is large, but mostly useless. I appreciated in Origins how every level up, you automatically gained a health and damage buff, while your skill point could actually be invested into something useful. Very strange how Ubi's studios approached this era of AC.

I like Valhalla so much I bought a disc copy of the base game for like 40ish like 3 years ago and then a year and a half ago I bought the full on game with all dlcs included makin my purchase like 200 cause when I bought it again it was digitally and It was at a time where I was the fully price for it on the Microsoft store and I comment on vids where people are knockin this game because of the size and lack of assassin elements. I say that a spent a total of like 200 on this game and I’d do it again in a heart beat and the dlcs I like one of there’s these mastery challenges in the game that is like the older games as well as some of the mythical dlc content does this to makin feel like an assassins creed game

I actually am enjoying this one way more than Odyssey. Which I figured would have been different because I enjoyed Black Flag so much and Greek Black Flag kind of sounded awesome. But I got so sick of having to kill commanders as the main check for completing the map just got so repetitive. Valhalla is so much more diverse in the side missions and map objectives.

I've given up on the AC franchise and completely skipped over Odessey and would've skipped Valhalla as well until Ubisoft had a promo for Ubisoft+ 1 month for $1. I ended up enjoying it so much I got Odessey on sale later (not saying it's a great game but the medieval assassin stuff reignited my passion and I loved the roman ruins all over the map).
I reccomend using the same promotion to try the DLCs, they usually have one every year, they just had one in August. Although a downside to this is that you can't take your saves back to the regular edition after you played the ultimate edition.

I gave up playing it when I realized just how little I had done in the game. Like I felt like I had progressed a lot, with making a home in England, that felt like the first act of a movie was over. But then I saw there was more, and I was turnt off. It’s a game too bloated for its own good, and it shows.

Bought the complete edition for 40. It's one of the best Assassins Creed games ever!

Well I did like Odyssey because i like Greece it was only think which keep me hook into the game.
But I still cannot finish Valhalla I simply do not like it from some reason.
And im talking like a person which played every AC Back from AC 1.
I did also not finish Origins because Egypt simply Felt to boring to me.
So now I basicly play AC not for the assassins templar story but for the world.
