Bought a pair earlier this year. So far, well pleased. Did 1500 miles on a Scotland trip and gave great confidence in the mixed conditions. Haven’t been off road but, like that I have that option. Not squared off despite a lot of motorway stuff and I can live with the slight drone. I ride bmw f800gs.
just came from a 2500Km road/semi off ride with my Tiger 1200 Rally Pro wearing the Metzeler Karoo street (21inch) front and at 100 to 120km on road, the "hum" wum, wum, wum of the front tyre was driving me crazy. How is the Trail Max Raid in this road conditions?
Thanks for the review !! Have been looking forward to hearing how this tyre interacts with these large adventure bikes. Would you say it is a better tyre than the karoo 4 or not really??✌
Further relevant info would have been weight per usual adv size vs other competitors, more wet and sub 7 deg performance information. Longevity is critical in this sector too and does the stiffer sidewall make self-fitment more of a challenge. Tyre reviews in @tyrereviews format, detail and thoroughness is totally omitted in the motorbike world, yet is clearly more critical than motor cars.
I can attest, great tire on my R1200GS but wow, very noisy. I had Motoz Adventures and Shinko 804/5 which were silent compared to them. I wont get them again because of the noise. Ill go back to Motoz.
Any one else having speed wobbles at about 90mph with these, came from Regular missions and no problem. I feel that these will put my bike into a tank slapped if I don’t back off the throttle
Save yourself the hassle and just get the best, MotoZ Tractionator Adventure read and Dual Venture front. Brilliant on and off-road, even in the mud, and will last much longer than these.
I guarantee you it's not better on pavement. I ran motoz. Not even close. Also this raid is the best "gravel" tire I've ever used. Motoz is better on loamy and sandy surfaces. And in pure mud.
@@Mightycaptain Sooooo, you agree then? Trying to find the part we disagree. If I have to worry about tucking up my MX boots I’m corners to ensure clearance, it’s pretty good on-road in the twisties.
@@ryanmalone2681 the motoz put me on my rear on dry pavement going 25mph on a cool day with no warning. So no. The best tire is predictable. Works in all weather conditions. So for me pavement traction was extremely compromised. And in the terrain I ride. Mud is many things. And it couldn't handle red clay either. Any other kind of mud it was better than the raid. And is a wash on red clay. The raid handles way better on gravel and pavement and rocky terrain. There is also no way it will last as long on the rear as a motoz adventure. No argument there. No way as soft as the raid seems to be it goes anywhere near 6k. Maybe 4k. I am not usually in sand. And can handle loamy conditions well enough on the raid. Best is impossible with all these compromise tires. Has to be best for where you ride. How you ride and your expectations. Many people have a lot of success with motoz. I was not one. So for me the raid so far has been the best for me. But no way one rides these tires back to back and believes the motoz is better on pavement.
Agree 100% I've ridden Motoz Gps & Adventure, Dunlop Mission & now Raid too. Bought 2 Motoz Adventures after a Dunlop Mission wasn't good enough for me off-road, went through one Adventure in about 6k miles, tried this Raid in between the last adventure and while not bad, the Raid is wearing faster and less off-road grip after only like 3k miles. Plus with the Raid, I've had 5 punctures already on a tubeless running tubes on my Suzuki DR790 which has me super frustrated. Going back to that adventure 1000%

Bruv how ya gonna leave a fair review on a 50/50 tire, arguably 40/60, when yuv never taken er off road?
@@elidunn7542 not a review.. just sharing my experience
I’ve been keeping track of mileage reports and most seem to be getting about 4,500 from a rear.
What do you recommend between the Mitas E-07 and Dunlop Raid
Have these on my 1150GS, phenomenal tire.
I like those upper crash bars on the tiger900 , can you tell me what brand they are ?
what psi on rear tire when filming the close up ?

I’m looking to buy only rear tire, but I don’t want to have noisy one :(
Is that noise only from front 19’ tire?
Thanks for the answer
GREAT VIDEO

Need to get another two-stroke! Not sure a 50cc PA50 counts 😊

You need to wear them in
I will wait until someone puts out a video of how long they last.. until then I'll still with motoz
I keep hearing 5k for the rear.
Ask European people to put yellow lines on 2 way roads and white line for one-way roads
The KTM is a tyre eater 👊✊

The dual venture on my KTM 890 has a bit of wobble at higher speeds on the highway. Not very happy with the front tire.
