I have a question about recording. When recording my production to the hard drive so that it can be edited and uploaded at a later time, our video file after 1 hour showed that the recorded production was 7.29 gigs. We tried transferring the file on a thumb drive and received a message that the file was too large to transfer. It took over 4 hours to upload to TH-cam. Are there some settings that will help in getting this recorded file down to under 1 or 2 gigs. Any help would be appreciated.
It depends on what kind of quality you're looking for. If you're just recording for TH-cam, then you may want to use MP4 recording at a lower bitrate. Perhaps 8mbit. Feel free to email through with some more information- www.vmix.com/contact-us.aspx

In a video I saw on youtube, there are two options in the recording section output and output1 this version is 23.0.0.32 I could not find this feature in other versions. Can you help me?
If we've got cameras coming via RTMP, RTSP or NDI, is there an easy way to ISO-record them without any Transcoding, so the incoming format is recorded directly ?

At one of the shows this year, the Nvidia RTX range demonstrating the blurry background ad replace background capabilities without a green screen is there any news on that? I cannot quite remember whether it was you guys or Paul from Stream Geeks.
There are a number of additional features that the RTX cards offer in regards to processing and we're looking into those. With most features it's a matter of working out what's feasible and whether it's going to benefit a lot of users.
I wish to record my screen as I demonstrate some concept but when I go to add input, desktop capture and select MS Excel (or any other program) vMix goes "Not responding". Am I missing something? Am using a HP laptop, core i7 with 8GB RAM

Yes, you use the Multicorder feature this is available in the 4K and Pro editions (at this time). You need to check that you have the proper hardware capable of handling it.

my recording result is very poor, it is really different quality compared to the screen. all of recording setting is same, actually more than that. but the quality looks like SD, it is really smooth, even sometimes i can see mosaic pattern. I use 1080 60p camera input(record setting is same), 20bit, mp4.... can anybody help me?
Hi, no specific card required, but we do recommend using the GPU hardware encoder for MP4 recording. Most newer Nvidia cards allow for 2 hardware encodes, so one of those is a good option. We have been recommending cards such as the GTX1060, GTX1660 and RTX2060 for HD productions, and then up to the GTX1080ti and RTX2080ti for 4K. Hi, you just need to add the destinations from the streaming menu. You can stream to 3 locations at the same time- th-cam.com/video/IqHQnari_ec/w-d-xo.html . As of vMix 23 you can stream to FB using the vMix login instead of the custom RTMP.
It would be nice if you could set record going without the prompt. We've set up an auto-record, but if the vmix has been closed and reopened it asks again for the record folder/settings. I'll probably have to use an autoit script.

Is it better to record on FFMPEG format or MP4? I've heard that MP4 reduces both video and audio quality as compared to the former.

Why do I have. the use Hardware encoder box for recording but not for streaming
You can use it for both. The latest Nvidia drivers allow for up to 3 hardware encodes on modern cards.
