I love your mindset 😊❤😊 on welding ( Chain HOOKs) to front blade top. So many times I had to run chain over blade base frame. In my Humble opinion that is a area that gets weaker over time, dozer we hauled did NOT have frame welded RING for tigh downs. You asked me if I was in Alaska. I have traveled there on Princess Cruises only. I live in NW I own a 1978 Dynahoe-190 Two wheel drive. My all time favorite Backhoe 😊 even though I started learning on a Case 580- CK then ran a brand new 580- C working for my uncle. Then a 580-D and 580- K when Case change there boom design. Why you ask do I own a Dynahoe it because I ran one in 1979 on a huge mainline sewer ULID housing development. I did hoe pack work but mainly dug side sewer stubs. I also ran a 680 Case with just hoe packer on mainline crew. I just feel in Love with the Dynahoe thay just were a beast of a rubber tired Backhoe ( backhoe end part of mainframe ) they dug standard depth without extension with backhoe 19 feet deep. That old (353 Detroit Diesel) just keeps running for me sense 2003 when I found her. Me like you could not pass up buying her. We wrote up a sales contract with the desperate home builder who wanted to sell her. I gave him some money down payment and if the leaky hydraulics and brake repair were more than the cost he wanted for the Dynahoe Then I would not pay him the rest that he wanted. He was asking to much for what I had to do resealing all the hydraulic leaks Just like you on the front blade control for dozer he had hooked up the front bucket dump backwards. I did the same as you switched the hydraulic hoses. I have one more front dump cylinder that leaks bad right now. I just did the other one. The last hopefully on leaky seals 😊
So so SORRY 😢 that 450- B bent the track frame in that Spot. But I know you my friend you will overcome the problem in my Humble opinion from watching you REPAIR equipment in plce. You rock buddy 😊😊
i know that feeling when there is unexpected resistance/circuit corrosion. It really hurts trust even when the wire's/solder joints are fixed cause it can be a big question mark of what actually caused the issue to start. Great to see you over came it
Been there done that with my 450. Always happens in the worst places and the worst times. The tensioner shafts get rusted and weak and breaks when on slight angle. Replace with any similar sized shaft or sleeve over what's there. In a tough spot, need some bottle jacks under that side. Hopefully the idler will slide back easily enough and you can pry the track back on. Goodluck mate I know how it feels
I’m learning that if I’m gonna run old equipment I better get good at fixing it! Looking at it now I see the weld was partially cracked for a while it was already rusty. Thanks for watching!
happy i found you bro. we has a similar issue with Hmmwvs, some bright spark re-routed the window washer to cool down the injector pump. hope the ficm issue doesn't ever happen again but maybe that tip would help.

I had a Maple stumb twice that size. And the Dynahoe even being a 1978 with (8000) hours on meter just lifted the maple stump up with one pull 😊 I rented a dumpster from a yard waste place about 5 miles from me. I loaded up the stumps in it with front bucket 😊 I took out 5 maple stumps from my small back yard 😊 one your pickup or should say gooseneck flat bead. Was it because of Wt. Of 450-B LOAD or is it your opinion the computer board is just getting hot from all the road travel with that Wt. Those solder connectors might be melting out of connection. I love you showing the 450-B brake shoe adjustment access plate and demonstration of Beake adjustment, that was outstanding to see what that side plate cover is for 😊❤😊
My long winded theory is this: The FICM is cooled by fuel. Pulling all that weight had the engine under a lot of load and the ECU was commanding full rail pressure for hours (26k psi). This gets the fuel hot and possibly over 212F. There was already moisture in the FICM from an unrelated issue. I think the hot fuel allowed some of that moisture to turn to steam and thats where it started to affect the components on the PCB. No problems since replacement, fingers crossed. Love to hear about your Dynahoe. There great, heavy machines. I hope you wear hearing protection if yours is a 2-stroke!
@@spankranchgarage YES the Dynahoe is a ( 2 stroke) but the loudest beast I have is a 1971 SeaGrave engine with you guessed it ( 8V-71) Detroit Diesel. My wife thought let's put stacks straight UP. So on Parade we don't blow smoke on kids sitting On curbs. Boy "O" boy she is loud ( I use hearing protection) when I have to build RPMs to get the shift in gear. She has a (5) speed ( Dana/ Spicer Transmission. The thing about the Fire engine that's so amazing is the (3) filters 1 oil ( sock type) in the canister (2) fuel filter are screw ones. They all are under the engine just above the frame rails. The (3) air filters are up top on passenger side rear top of engine. I can just slide under Fire engine to do service changes It's easier than my 2021 Silverado Duramax.
I realy feal for ya on this one. Im gona guess you have alredy got this repaired. But to make it a little easyer on your self you could release the tention on the track and get it back on to atleast move it up to a better spot to work on it. Just have to go easy while its bent. As for your slack adjuster rod they rot out spending there life coverd in dirt. Good thing you got that mill to repair it lol. Fixing the rail isent too hard Youll get it fixed. Cant wait to see it.
@@spankranchgarage glad it helped ya lol. when mine came off i was on a fairly steep bank sidways. The down hill track came off to the inside the track became loose the sprocket was sliping and wouldent grab. The up hill track was just spinning cuz all the weight was down hill. Bank was too steep to jack the dozer up on. It was a mess. Ended up hooking to the back of it with the tractor and pulling just bearly geting it to spin around . As it was going down the hill backwards it poped itsself back on. Managed to keep it on to get it to the garage.
The cooling certainty doesn’t hurt. But this one had moisture in it and as it got hot was causing the malfunction. Be careful washing under the hood and you will be fine, cooling it or not cooling it.

HPTuners is expensive to only use for 1 vehicle. I tune many cars with it so it was a no-brainer to me. You have to buy the hardware and per vehicle credits
1:02 as soon as you started that I knew it was going to break on you at 70° f a John Deere dozer has one minute of heat up time you you started that machine up and immediately lifted the blade up on cold oil
Interesting point, I appreciate it. I dont agree with it though. The fluid is moving either way, who cares if some of it goes to the lift cylinders. You wouldn't warm up your snow plow hydraulics to go plow snow.

I am good with just about any mechanically injected diesel (except for the HEUI system. Far too complicated). Mechanical injection pumps and carburetors generally don't leave a guy crippled or stranded near as often as computers and wires do, LOL. Anyways, love the channel brother! Your get after it attitude is inspiring. And, you will make a fine machinist as well. Trust me, I've been a machinist for well over 30 years, and even own a shop. I can spot the good ones. Now get you a real lathe! HAHA (I'm just yankin yer chain)

Soooo u do need it cooled? Ppl been running it without fuel into it for years . Is that the case or is it just a bad ficm?

I make my own with HP tuners. 45% injectors and a pretty mild tune. Then a banks economind on top so I can turn it up and down on the fly. Works great
