Update to the Apple Translate, it has a camera mode now and it translate in real time as well
I am translating Japanese to English and the other way round as a Japanese Beginner. And Jesus Christ, in spite of my awful pronounciation Apples App recognizes EVERYTHING... Srry Google. I will miss you :-(
Interesting, comparison. Really miss the double tap and hold to translate the screen on Emui that I used on a previous phone. So useful when living in China especially because it works for images as well as text. To do the same thing on other skins I have to take a screenshot and import into translation software. Hope the other Chinese brands introduce something similar
As a Chinese native speaker, I feel Apple is better at daily use but google is better at academic use
How do either of these work on a smartwatch? I'd love to not have to whip out my phone where I live now in Thailand. Thanks...

Samsung phones translate phone calls as you talk. You talk in English and it can translate to German or Spanish ect ect as you speak on the phone. Miles ahead of both of them
I’ve always had this confusion that do these apps’ logos always shows an A and a 文? What if I’m Russian? Will it shows я instead of 文？

The apple translate is very basic. Google has pinyin allowing you to read the Chinese characters. Besides, google can scan an image and translate the texts.

Pixel phones use Google translate better because Google translate is built onto the phone or Apple translate is built on Apple phones Apple doesn't like Google 👍
And on the pixel phone, the translator is built into the keyboard and also a translator pop up
Taiwanese is a Great one to have. I was visiting the Country of Taiwan and the Apps both worked great. When I went to South Korea it was o.k… But when I finally went to Communist China after visiting the Free Country’s of Taiwan and S.Korea, well, I had problems.. Still, so nice to have this over a booklet… Perhaps Socialists/Communists/Leftists/Democrats created another problem..?🍦
Apple translator is so trash Because I have translated some thing and I want to look at back but there is no history and not a lot of options (I should’ve have used google)

I used both but apple translate don't not have the camera translator and that is the most advanced idea for a smart phone . fast . amazing .👎🏼 to apple .. .. 👍🏼 to google ..

apple offline mode is a joke. any offline free dictionary is still way better than apple lmfao
Apple app garbage. User unfriendly. Impossible to figure out. Defaulted into French, despite me never having used it. Put in something to translate, and was never able to clear it. Pure shite.
??? You can literally just select and delete the text you typed in like any other text form, I’m surprised you had trouble with that. Also you can tap on the languages at the top to change them.
