You are right about what you ve said, people say, the Boxter is like a poor mans 911 and the SLK is like a Mini SL. The car simply doesnt pretend to be something it is not. It is just a nice classic car for the Weekends. As a young family father, I missed a stylish car to enjoy driving with. So I eventually bought this 6cylinder Z4 for the Weekends. It serves us as a Weekend Car during Summer and it is the best value I could get for a reasonable price.
the wind deflector is to stop wind from getting in your neck! not from completely stopping wind going through your hair. the air creeps back between the seats due to the vacuum being pulled by the windshield, so the deflector stops cold air from being pulled into the cabin
I bought the facelift version (S28i) after owning the E93 and the G20 for many years, like you said compared to modern cars it's a bit raw (some might say even basic) but I appreciated the design even after all these years because it's still looks new and different even with her soft basic lines, the new G29 instead looks quite heavily overdesigned and overweighted, and to paraphrase your words, a small 8 Series. Also considering that it would have been my only car the hard convertible top was a must for all-year usability, so really my only alternative would have been the SLK or maybe an MX5 RF... Regarding the practicality it's a convertible spider, it's not trying to be a sporty Multipla or a Tourer, but I found out that as a daily driver it's totally acceptable (I'm 185 and I daily take my son to school with it, buy groceries, small weekend travel/camping); and I found out many years ago that if you have to do some major travel with the family/friends or move heavy/big stuff it's way better to just rent a dedicated car for the job (especially considering that those occations might be quite rare). All in all I can say that most likely I will keep her as my main car for as long as I can, I miss some of the techno modern stuff of the G20 but I also stopped using the car for many hours per day every single day so I can easily live without the auto park assistance or the double 12" touchscreen; and then finally I can actually enjoying the experience of driving a car in a way that only a spider can do, and not just getting from point A to point B.
I owned the TT, Boxter S, SLK (AMG55) and then the Z4 35iS, they were all good for different reasons. As for the Z4, as long as you get rid of the run flat tyres, and don't mind a tiny boot (with the roof down) you have a terrific car. I did enjoy my 35iS a lot, but I prefer my G20.
With what you suggest to change the run flat? I always had the idea to change them, maybe a run flat with a bigger shoulder could be enough but idk.. I have 19 inch wheels and I will like to keep it beautiful to look, do you maybe have some pics that show the change before and after run flats?
following my last trip in Italy with my 35i, I broke 1 wheel. I had to change all 4 for a new style and also to remove those runflat. I almost thankfull of the bad italian roads since it has improved so much my car 😂 … And by the way , I am 1m96 and no problem for long roadtrip with the E89
Beautiful car, I have one sdrive 3.0 2010, manual transmission in silver, only 13k km, love this N52 engine, without turbos and so reliable.Like to drive it top down .
Feels lighter, more comfortable, its a bigger car, if i had to compare, i would say e85 you feel more like a kart type car you feel every bump on the road the steering wheel is very hard and heavy, its scarier, the e89 feels more like a normal car, you dont feel as much of the road, its not as stiff, i have both and if i were to choose i would choose the e89 for the tecnhology comfort and design
Great to see someone still creating content with the old Zetti. I love mine, brilliant car
I bought 35is. good dynamics, a hard roof and an incredible design. Much better than the G29.
I love my 2009 Z4 e89 35i (n54). I did put aftermarket wheels on it, but other than normal maintenance items it’s stock. Plenty fast enough for me!
The amount of dust in that engine bay 😓

Well done you! I hope this is allowing you to spend quality time with your family 🫶🏼

Runflats ruin everything, worst BMW Idee ever
@@joelmichels5564 Michelins fault they were the first to make them

Magnifique vidéo Fulvio comme d’habitude !
Great Video, lovely scenery 🎉
clean that engine bay!
He’s right. Don’t buy this one. Buy a new one with a manual transmission.

Is it a good uograde from the e85 owners? Coming from an e85 manual transmission how does the e89 drive ?

failed clickbait title. I love my z4 e89 and he does too haha
It surely is a nice car! Just keep in mind you'll get out of it with messy hair 😜
