    Nice setup, get Tidal though for streaming through the Sonos to these - Also, are you doing optical out on the Sonos to the BeoLab transmitter or RCA out of the Connect? The DAC in the Sonos Connect is.. meh

  • @Lemxns
    @Lemxns ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you connect the Sonos connect box to the speakers exactly?
    How do they perform at low volumes? Is there a loudness function in the Sonos app that works with the BeoLab 18s?
    Do you have equaliser settings in the Sonos app?
    Am I right in thinking that the volume control is 100% digital (Beolab 18s do not have an inbuilt preamp) so as the volume decreases the signal strength also weakens? Does this make it sound flat when the volume is low?
    Appreciate your answers on the above, thanks

    Hi Jetskicentral I have the Beolab 3 Speakers and I'd thank u to tell me about the conections between the Speakers and the beolab transmitter 1 or sonos... I mean where did u plugged the labs to? As I said, i have the beolab 3 and would like to use them for everything I mean from listening to music (spotify) to watch the TV or movies... but wireless whay would u do in my case?

    What connection cable do you use from the Sonos Connect to the speakers? Optical/toslink? Do you run that cable via the Beolab Transmitter1?

    • @Jetskicentral
      @Jetskicentral  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Connected via the phono transmitter powers the lab 18s up when it senses a line in signal - they power down after a min or two when the signal disappears

    Hi. Did you ever have the Beolab 18’s connected via phonoplugs ?. I have the Sonos Port connected via phono now, and the 18’s are bad at handling deep bastones with more than 60-70% Volume. My hopes are that this would get better with a Transmitter 1 ??. Best regards, Henrik

  • @torbenwolff
    @torbenwolff 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Jetskicentral.
    Nice video. Another question. What about the TV sound. How is that wired? Or is it not connected to the Beolab 18s?

    • @Jetskicentral
      @Jetskicentral  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have the tv through the speakers at the moment as it doesn't have a variable line out signal. I can connect it for movies this isn't due to the limitations of the b&o more the limitations of the sonos system

    • @torbenwolff

      OK, I see your point. Let us know your considerations how to bring TV sound to the 18s 😊😊😊😊

    • @JMaldonado64
      @JMaldonado64 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Torben I'm trying to do exactly that, but it seems the Transmitter 1 introduces too much delay in the audio signal, so you would suffer from lipsyncing issues. It wouldn't work :(

    • @FromCarsten
      @FromCarsten 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Optical cable from TV to a Yamaha WXC-50 pre-amp and optical cable from pre-amp to transmitter. Thats my set-up, works great and no lip sync issues.

    • @saxonhamish
      @saxonhamish 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a similar set up, just run the tv headphone output into the line in of the sonos connect, then select line in through the app.

      joao litoranea I was very happy with the sound with just the lab 18s alone but I have just added a beolab 19 which o really like but can be a bit much at times as I play quite a wide range of music I tend to be adjusting it a lot at the moment I haven't found the perfect setting/gain

    • @bobalobalie
      @bobalobalie 9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      +Samuel “bigswesil” Owusu Sonos isn't even comparable to anything B&O makes. Put frankly, if you are considering Sonos or any brand on that level B&O speakers are out of your price range by a significant amount. The B&O BeoLab 18s shown in this video retail for $6,590 each. So both of these ran him/her $12-13K. Sonos' most expensive speaker runs around $699.

    • @Jetskicentral
      @Jetskicentral  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could but to have volume control it would mean running them through the 3.5mm Jack from the tv. The tv has a phono line out but it's volume is fixed.
      The sonos has a separate switchable line in but it's volume is control is from the devise supplying the signal. If your tv has a variable line out then perfect !

    What are the ways to connect to beolab 18 with Sonos. Do I need the BEO wireless transmitter and sonos connect? any other way?

    • @Jetskicentral
      @Jetskicentral  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could go straight from the Sonos line out to the lab 18s but that would mean hard wiring them. Limits the placement then but still fine. I wired my lab8000s that way previously with no issues. Speakers will power up automatically when they since the line input signal too.
      Cheers

    Can these speakers be connected to a Pioneer AV Receiver? Thank you

    • @Jetskicentral
      @Jetskicentral  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ernest gjeci - they could but to a volume controlled line out only direct to the speaker- the speakers are active (self amplified) .. or you could run the transmitter one with them from a suitable line out.
      I run the transmitter one through a Sonos and control the volume on the sonos app.
      The speakers power up automatically with a line signal - they auto switch off after a few mins of inactivity too 👍
