I’m a Yu-Gi-Oh player and honestly have no clue the rules of magic but something about watching people play this game is so satisfying.
I stopped playing when Links became a thing because they made my deck overnight unplayable. Switched over to Magic and even with the master rule revision I havent looked back. You should make the leap if you've been on the fence
I sort of agree but if you enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh like me you can just do both it's not that hard to juggle

Yugioh and magic are amazingly similar. I stick to duel links rn but love both games
My favorite part is how Ladee Danger was excited for everyone else's cards they played.

Totally agree, often in Game Knights the whole table complains every time someone ramps, draws etc. She brought such a positive vibe to this one

The power levels also seemed really even and we got to see a lot of cool effects. Definitely second the idea of showing off more precon upgrades in extra turns episodes
just remember they modified the decks. these are not out the box pre cons.

I love that all the decks got a chance to do what they were designed to do at least a little bit in this episode. So fun!

@@michaelwright248 I hope they let someone try that commander on a future episode but I’m pretty sure they’ve never had a repeat commander before so I doubt it. Ima definitely still build it though I have lost no steam on the Dina deck train.

This game showcased the Lorehold and Witherbloom decks very well.
All the decks are pretty cool. Not sure which one I liked the most.
Ladee Danger brings such great energy to the show every time she's on

@@JordanPridgen We all get tunnel vision sometimes! I got my partner a Quantum Quandrix precon, and I have an appreciation for how explosively it can produce a ton of creatures (although they use Adrix and Nev as the commander)

Ladee being excited when Murph recovered his board is the most heartwarming Commander moment ever. I wish every table had a Ladee Danger.

Man the Lorehold deck was seriously relevant in this game. You love to see it
And Murph is such a great player with a nice attitude but yeah, the artifact take on boros is definitely a step on the right direction.
If you are even remotely interested in Osgir, I'd recommend getting one. Even on a heavy budget you can make a very fun deck. I went for Myr Tribal, it's one of my favorites now
@@MrDeathbydying I wanted to build a four color artifact decks with Akiri and and Silas but there are so many directions to take artifact decks. Affinity, tribes, combo, tokens. I still believe that Wizards should create a 5 color Myr tribal commander since I just love that creature type. I have a Myr Tribal with Brudiclad.

its amazing how Ladee has a completely different hair every time she is in the show. I love how its starting to get kinda wild now that she seems to be running out of options.

I love how enthusiastic everyone is about other people's plays in this episode.
Was happy that the precon I bought won, but I generally appreciate that each deck got to do what it was supposed to do. Boros value seem fun but man, that silverquill deck was damn oppressive!
This is by far one of the best episodes I've seen in a long time. Every deck got to go off to show what the deck is about. Normally we see one deck do nothing and it greatly hinders the episode. As someone who plays similar colors I was glad they won, but I loved the politics of the black and white deck. The value engine of boros. The life drain of ladee's deck. Everything felt balanced.
This is why you always kill Josh first. Doesn't matter if he can help, or be an ally. You...beat...Josh...FIRST!!!

I actually liked his victory here, the one being the bully this game was Jordan.

Breena is such an insane card... it can completely change the flow of a game...
It's almost like Tymna. Only disadvantage is that opponents also have access to it but it can output so much damage
@@Luca-nd2fv no it doesn't. If player A (you) attacks B and C who are tied for life, on more life than D, you will get 2 triggers.
I’m pretty sure they were triggering it wrong. It doesn’t trigger ever attack, just if the opponent your attacking has lower life than one of the owners opponents I believe.
@@metalmarlett1418 No, I think they triggered it correctly - when anyone attack player, that has a most life, other than Jordan, its trigger. So i.e. if Jordan has 38 life, and everyone else has 34, if Jordan attack all others opponents - its trigger three times. If anyone else attack everyone it trigger two times, because 34 is most life of Non-Jordan opponents. Etc.
@@Dreadnote-pf7of no u are wrong. In your scenario is will not trigger at all because there are no opponents with lower life than the opponent that was attacked because everyone’s life is the same. Also breena only triggers for once regardless of the number of creatures attacking the same opponent

I was on the fence about the Witherbloom precon, but after seeing Ladee pilot Willowdusk, I'm actually excited to begin upgrading mine.
At the midroll (ads are great as always), and I think this is one of my favorite Extra Turns episodes so far already. Power level of the decks seems great, and everyone’s decks are doing their things. Excellent job!

Im also kind of expecting an episode where they all play different Elder Dragons from the set, since they were basically made for commander, or should i say Elder Dragon Highlander.

Ok, the fact that in 2021 that decks of this power level are precons and extremely budget makes me happy! I'm one of the guys MTGFinance dudes hate that wants every card under 5 bucks lol. This is really good for the game and makes it so people don't get stomped by extreme power level swings due to price!

this was. great, nice to see the somewhat lower powered commander decks do their thing and showcase you can have good games with them.
(although I still often just have stalemates or uneven games))

@@Frostgiantbutsmall it’s not specifically simic. It’s just that every single episode josh plays a very powerful value-town deck and then wonders why people gang up on him.
As someone with a very similar play style, when you have a 5 card value engine generating you crazy card advantage every turn, you really can’t be surprised when the table tries to stop you
That was a very good showing of how the upgraded precons can do some very powerful stuff

You guys should do more budget gameplay videos. Just goes to show you don't need to break the bank to play Commander, or Magic in general.
I'd love to see you guys do this for every yearly commander pre cons. I don't have much extra cash these days so seeing these decks go off with only $30 worth of upgrades is very satisfying.

Witherbloom all day every day
disappointed in quandrix since they managed to give pairs either new themes (silverquill&lorehold) or new angles on the same themes. So it's 4 out of 5 for me, quandrix cards could be simic cards and no one would notice
The day you add the Mario sound effect for tokens on wipes or counters. Is the day I get my entire family to subscribe.
Weird comment, but I actually really appreciate how you mention that bald can be a good look in your Keeps commercial. As baldman, it gets really tiresome how often sponsorships from that particular brand sound like being bald is something to be ashamed of.
You ever seen Simon Whistler do a Keeps ad read? He's a bald guy without about 10 different channels. My favorite is Business Blaze, but I also greatly enjoy Megaprojects.
Came back to this when I realized that Josh was playing Esix. I built an Esix deck from scratch recently, and I gotta say one of my favorite moves is to do the hornet queen trick just like he did on his last turn.
Josh is the mtg i wanna be, a great guy, not too annoying but powerful. Does fun stuff when given the opportunity. Love u guys, keep it up
He also doesn't get salty if he gets rolled. He taught me to say "Alright good game, let's shuffle up and play again."
My favorite thing about MTG content is "Keeps" ad. Audience targeting is on point :D
19:00 wow, Josh, that was a pretty huge missplay. You could have just played your commander in your first main and get another mulldrifter instead of a zombie.
I’m coming back to magic after a couple years and bought the Witherbloom commander deck, it was nice to see how you upgraded the deck on a budget and watch it play out with Ladee at the helm.
I actually enjoyed all 4 of these decks this time around :O

43:17 I think you'd have gotten more value having all 4 hornet queen's insects come in as COPIES of Hornet queen, that would have netted you all those 1/1 deathtouches.

To play an Avanger of Zendikar to make even more Avanger of Zendikar, which then make a ton of Plants and by playing a land trigger all these Avangers, ending up with over 200 giant plant token crushing over your enemies...

good to see josh back in his element riding the simic value train. Everyone's decks were awesome and all had their moments. That is the ideal commander game.
They need to make a new cycle of the guild signets but with the colleges I think that would be really cool
I think it’d be neat if they changed them slightly, so it’s not just the same card with a different name. Maybe something like Lorehold signet: red+tap = make white+white; or white+tap = make red+red.

I am REALLY impressed with the way that the Lorehold deck consistently was able to bounce back from board wipes/removal.
