Tbh I would rather convert a airsoft gun to gels then mess with these thing I am in Australia and we only have blasters to play with and me dsg gel blaster is like 100% airsoft parts apart from the mags, barrel, tpiece, and hopup the rest is like retro arms gearbox housing one piece cylinder nozzle with rubber tip to suite gels shs tappet plate shs piston and piston head shs dsg gears warhead brushless motor shs m170 spring perun v2 hybrid so basically all of it is airsoft it shoots like 300fps at 58rps
Do you know if the fire selector should be in a certain postion when reassembled my selector is wired the spring is not linear when compressed and it slides smoothly

i finished the mod and gearbox seems to be firing great, also put an 11v battery, whenever i shoot it just seems like it’s spraying tons of bullets but barely going far at all, lights also flicker, is there some power draw issue?
Hey man I have a question, I had stripped gears on my srb1200 and I took them apart and replaced them with gears from my broken srb400 (sub) and everything works fine except when I put it all together it just had no power whatsoever, it would shoot about 10ft. So I took it apart again and checked everything and the orings and everything was fine but it still isn’t shooting far. I have no idea what to check or if there is a fix, or even if the gears aren’t 100% the same even tho they look identical, just lmk when you can if you can. Love the content btw🤙
You gave a lot of details, but still difficult to diagnose. Sounds like an air leak, maybe in the T piece, as if your nozzle is not moving far enough forward to properly seal off.
@@ryangraves4961Yes. Also, the metal tappet plate which moves that nozzle is prone to bending and breaking. Make sure that is straight and allows the nozzle to travel it's full range.
@@engineerable ok so the gold nozzle to plug the t piece hole struggles to move, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t, what should I do? Will lubing it help it move? Bc it kinda sounds like there is dust or sand grinding when I move it myself

Are you using it on the plastic or metal gears? If metal gears, do you have a sector delay chip installed? Yes, airsoft tappet plates are a little different from gel blaster plates.
metal gears w the same sector delay chip you used yea..... its a bit long, the tail of it is a bit longer then the one is the splatrball, any suggestion on fixes?
So i ended up putting the whole gearbox together with all the new parts, shot normally with the old spring, once the new one was installed it seemed that the compression was too strong and the battery couldn’t support it, it was a fully charged splatball battery, is this normal? thinking of sautering an 11.1 v on.

Nice work to get this far! It's a challenging mod. Did you check the piston pressure before assembling to make sure the piston o-ring was sealing well? If the piston was holding pressure, than your nozzle is not sealing inside the t piece. Did you place the tappet over the slot of the nozzle?
My gears strip and I’m looking for those metal gears to fix my gun any links would be great. And the metal slide broke were can I buy a better one cuz that one is made of soft metal. Plz any links

@engineerable hope you having a blessing day. I have some questions for you to see what’s your solution. So I bought the tappet for my gun and is a little bigger then the stock one and the nozzle is sticking out more then stock and the blaster can’t past true cuz of that you have any trick that we can work with and will work
I tore down and rebuilt and test fired a couple pills and the sound seemed fine then the gears in the gear box stopped turning & the tappet was stuck pulled back and when I pulled the trigger it made a whining sound. Any help?
Sounds like gears are jammed up. This could be because your piston came off the track (did you add the support spacer?) or piston gear tooth spacing is bad as I showed in the video.
Would it be possible for you to send me a picture step by step basically on how everything should be placed? Because the only reason I tore down the blaster is because it was making a whining sound without ever being opened and tampered with and I’m unsure on how everything should be placed so that it all functions in sync. Thank you for the help too
@@nickallen3781 Oh! You tore it down and reassembled, not upgraded like in this video. This is a very detailed video of teardown and rebuild - th-cam.com/video/zscIt0RVLKA/w-d-xo.html The whining sound is because your gears are stripped, usually between the motor pinion and bevel gear. You will need to replace the gears. Or you will need to add a set screw to the motor cage to push the motor forward into the gears for better engagement.
Yo so I pretty much shredded my sector gear after doing a batter upgrade on one of these so I’ll probably be doing at least some of this upgrade. If I were to just upgrade the gears and leave the entire piston assembly alone, would the sector gear damage the teeth on the piston plunger or can I just leave that alone?
The stock piston uses a non standard gear tooth spacing. Watch this part at 7:03 to see the difference: th-cam.com/video/3o4r5-Xr93U/w-d-xo.html So you have to replace the piston also. Also, even if it did work, metal gears will more rapidly wear of the plastic teeth on the piston.
@@kenjuri_2821 Stick with 18:1. The motor won't be able to handle anything faster. Slower ratio would be better for the motor, but will decrease fire rate.

Your gears are jammed up. Maybe the tappet is broken, or something else is caught in gear teeth

it seems splatrball has its own costom one, if you could, do you happen to know 1 that would fit? or maybe a 3d model of one i can print out?
Unfortunately, I don't think 3D printed tappet plate would be strong enough, unless outsourced to a place that does SLS nylon printing.

Did it cycle, but just slowly?
@@engineerable the gun cycled and is now stuck in a compressed position, after that pressing the trigger does nothing else and the lights flicker.

Nvm fixed it. The tappet wasn’t actually connected to the groove in the nozzle but I’ll leave the comment here if people are having the same issue

Measure the outer diameter inside the flange and look at EVIKE for matching bearings or bushings.
Just go with bushing man they are are so much more reliable and easier to shim properly
