sorry for the wait, guys!! I’ve been really sick this past week. 🥺 I’m immunocompromised and on a new immunosuppressant that makes it super easy for me to get sick… then when I am sick, it makes it hard for me to recover. I am slowly recovering though and excited to get back into youtube!
Nick’s behavior may look like Ben’s in some ways on the surface (which is intentional as far as the storytelling goes), but his motivations and choices are quite different. Remember that Nick is very empathic, Imogene’s his friend, and he doesn’t want to make her feel humiliated in front of all those obnoxious boys. That’s all I’ll say on that topic for now, but I’m very excited for you to watch the next episode. It’s one of the best imo.
Can people shut up and let reactors feel what they feel and discover things on their own? You’re basically spoiling the next episode. Jesus it’s not that hard
It would’ve been impossible for Nick to say no in that situation being the golden retriever. He would’ve devastated Imogene in front of all their friends. The villain here is Harry. He pressured Imogene into asking and then he pressured Nick and saying yes. Nick did the only thing he could do. Then when he and Imogene are alone he can tell her that he doesn’t want to go on a date when it’s not in front of everyone
I agree the villain is Harry, but Nick drops the ball repeatedly this episode. He also didn’t go over to help Charlie when he was hurt which wouldn’t have outed their relationship, just shown him as a concerned friend. I sympathize and understand why Nick is afraid, but Charlie did deserve better in that moment. Nick is kind and sweet, but not perfect.
I know it's all about Nick's feelings for 99% of the fans .......but I'm going to stand by Imogen. Bc how do you think this made her feel? Nick led her on. Point blank period. It wasn't his intention but that's what happened. By accepting the date he made her believe that he liked her, or at the very least was interested. He could have asked Imogen to walk with him aka away from the group and had a conversation about not liking her as anything but a friend. This wasn't fair to her.
@@shannonmitchell167 It also wasn’t fair that he didn’t tell her he wasn’t interested in episode 3. She came right out and told him that she liked him and asked if he liked her. At that point he should’ve told her that he liked her as a friend, but he didn’t, which just reinforced her belief that he liked her
@@Kamandi2 Exactly! .....and instead of taking her off someplace quiet, letting her know that he likes her but only as a friend, he didn't. And you can't say Nick couldn't bc he snuck off w Charlie w no problem. Nick is a great guy but he's not perfect and this ep and the previous highlights that, IMHO. Him accepting that date was, in Imogen mind, him reciprocating her feelings. That wasn't fair to her.
Don't worry. Nick explains WHY he said yes to Imogen in the next episode and it makes TOTAL sense and will endear you even more to him than ever before, I promise you! Not to mention the fact Nick isn't trying to hide the fact he is still friends with Charlie in public from anyone. Absolutely zero comparison to Ben in the way he treats Charlie.

I appreciate you being fully honest with your views, including Tao, even if I feel differently. It shows an authentic viewing experience! I love how each one is different, too.
This is a nice comment to see. I feel like this fandom can be a bit harsh and overprotective, but we can all have different experiences and still love the show!
@@wavy6617 I totally agree. I also remember feeling annoyed from time to time. With both Nick-only this particular episode with Imogene-and sometimes Tao. But I'm also a writer, so I kind of love analyzing why people like certain characters, or don't, ect

i totally understand how ppl may not see that nick is being pressured and therefore frustrated that he said yes but i am a bit sadwhen people compare nick to ben just because he said yes when ben is a sexual predator to charlie and a manipulator 😭 nick should never be compared to ben. but i still understand your frustrations
See, I DON'T understand how people can miss the peer pressure in that scene. It's so incredibly obvious. First Imogen is pressured into asking in front of everyone (she intended to do it privately) and then Nick can't possibly say no without raising a whole lot of questions he isn't ready/able to answer yet and basically crushing Imogen in front of everyone. It's like people forget what it's like being a teenager.
@@Luusie So everyone would have just assumed Nick was into boys simply bc he didn't want to go out w Imogen instead he just does not like her in the way? Teens are idiots LOL! PS: Harry kept tabs on Nick's dating relationships so much but we never saw him w a girl.
OMG, i swear to god, i was just watching your reaction to episode 3 right now. Thank you for the lovely surprise with this upload. Hope you can get better soon!❤
I love that he wipes his face with a dry tissue as it was just an excuse to touch him, show some affection. Looking forward to your reactions to the next few episodes, keep up the good work 🥰
This has become one of my favourite shows of all time, not only because of the quality of the production, writing, acting, etc but for what it means to me and a lot of people out there. 💙💛Love your reactions btw.
I think everyone needs to light up on booth Nick and Imogen in this scenario bc she’s done nothing but like a boy, be made fun of for it, then ask him out and he clearly is her friend and cares about her and felt a lot of pressure. Both of their kinda reasonings and personalities are explained more in the following episodes and it makes both of their actions a lot more understandable
As the other comments have said, while it seems Nick’s behavior is similar to Ben’s on the surface (and that’s intentional), the reality is that it’s not. That will become clear as the story continues to progress. Nick and Ben are definitely meant to be compared to one another since they’re both on similar journeys exploring their sexualities. However, they both go through the process in very different ways, and what’s so beautiful about the show is that it portrays both a healthy and unhealthy way to go through this kind of journey without making it preachy or judgmental. It just is. And the performances the actors who play both Nick and Ben give are so nuanced and multi-dimensional. Definitely revisit this idea as the episodes progress.
It’s also still important to note that Tao isn’t “not being happy for Charlie” like a bad friend he’s trying to protect Charlie bc Tao still has no evidence that Nick likes Charlie back and so all he sees is a a guy who’s friends pick on the both of them and who relentlessly bullied Charlie last year for being gay leading Charlie on and agreeing to go on a date with another person. Tao isn’t in the wrong and a lot more people need to acknowledge that they’d be skeptical too
Agree. What has Nick done, from Tao's perspective, to prove that he isn't doing all this as a joke re: Charlie? Nick is friends w Harry, on the surface, and he picks w Charlie and Tao all the time. What does Nick do to discourage him? Not a damn thing. He still hangs out w him and the other boys. But Tao is meant to believe that Nick is a good guy who actually likes Charlie? Nah. Fans see it different bc you have the advantage of knowing Nick's true motives.
@@shannonmitchell167 I agree and the show explains that Tao thinks they’re all playing a prank on Charlie by getting Nick to lead him on and Nick doesn’t ever do anything to Tao to suggest otherwise.
Nick was in front of all those people, he is too nice of a guy, he isn't gonna reject her in front of everyone... I think it was a nice thing for him to do for her. However, he could have said he already liked someone else and it wouldn't be right or something like that.

We have to remember these are children and Nick didn’t want to embarrass Imogen in front of all there friends. He couldn’t say no because I’m dating Charlie as he is not even sure what his sexuality is. He’s not in the same mindset as an adult who could probably wiggle their way out of this. Don’t be so hard on these kids.

I also wanted to wait so I wouldn't spoil anything for myself but I knew I wouldn't be able to so I didn't even try 🤗 And I honestly don't think it's a big deal, there is so much of the show that isn't in the comic so I think there will still be surprises in the next seasons. If he could have thought to say, “Let’s discuss this later” maybe, but even that would have been odd.
