@@cielosgamesMilk chocolate is fine. But the reason we use dark chocolate is to maximize the taste of chocolate inside the drink. Because we already have the sweetness of sugar and milk inside the pan, the pure dark chocolate won't taste bitter like when we eat it directly. That's why we dont usually for milk chocolate in hot chocolate milk drinks and bakeries. If we eat chocolate directly, of course, most people don't like bitter, dark chocolate. But we do not eat chocolate directly when making hot chocolate and baking cookies. Yes. This concept of using dark chocolate for cooking applies for borh hot chocolate and baking. Professional hotels use dark chocolate for pastries because the ingredient already includes sugar. Now you know.
This type of hot chocolate is typically served by default anywhere in Serbia and/or Croatia. Relocating to Sweden, I was highly disappointed that bars serve only regular hot chocolate. I was missing out and now finally made it myself. 😊
What kind of cocoa powder and dark chocolate did you use? Is there a typed recipe in the description? I’m horrible when It comes to choosing the right chocolate.
Any brand will do, but the type matters. The regular "natural" cocoa powder is cheaper and more readily available. "Dutch-processed" cocoa powder is darker and has a stronger chocolate taste, so you might not even need to add dark chocolate.
Try real cocoa powder not a sweetened substitute used mainly for making chocolate milk. Most supermarkets in the many countries of the world thst i have visited will stock it.
I haven't made it, but I imagine with the cornstarch it would firm up when chilled. It's likely best served freshly made, but might still be good later. Again this isn't knowledge from making it, just from experience with other recipes.
I don't know if I followed the steps correctly, but I think the hot chocolate has a taste of non cooked corn startch and didn't like that taste. anyway thank you.
Tried this with half the amount of chocolate and a pinch of instant coffee, still so rich and so good?????
An amazing recipie just tried it!!

@@dishedit taste like AMAZING CHOCOLATE
So delicious! 😋
I do not have dark chocolate.. Is it okay if increase cocoa powder quantity?
Yeah it is, but the main problem here will be that the chocolate will never darken and become a thicker version of itself.
Increase the cornflour slury quantity and cook a little longer and add a tsp of butter on top still when hot it will be perfect
I dont have chocolate itself only chocolate powder. Do i just add more powder or make more of the milk slurry to get the thickness?
No.
Increasing cocoa pwdr won't work.
No choc chips on hand???
Yummy

Legend!
How long I can preserve it?

Upto 2 days in fridge should be good
Looks Delicious 😋
It was!
The corn starch slurry won’t do anything unless you bring the mixture back up to a boil.
I used the written recipe which called for 1 1/2 cup milk made my chocolate thin. Otherwise, it was so good.
Yeah mine did not get that thick either i think she probably said the wrong measurement for the corn starch mixture
I never had Italian hot chocolate. I just tried this recipe it came out like pudding. Is that how it’s supposed to be? 😂 did I cook it too long?
It is the same consistency as cooked pudding recipes. If you chilled it, you would have a pudding .
what does 4 oz mean? did you put a whole sliced dark chocolate in the pot and just melted it, or how much chocolate should I melt??
Four ounces which is about 125 grammes. Why not just look it up if you do not know?
Keep doing well Dished!
Take care!
Mark me with a ❤ please!
Thank you! You too!
My mum fixed it because when I followed the exact instructions it did not work. She did it Arabic style!!
Tried it but it came out light not so creamy. What am i missing?
What about like 5 people what's the quantity then?
X 5 !

Don't add too much corn starch and cook it on low heat till it thickens and wisk continously
For how many people is this recipe?
🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫🍫
Tried it same as recipe but not thick :/
How many ppl does this recipe serve?!
One...
Second!
Nice! 😊 😉
Swiss miss and Hershey is expensive enough for me lol
corn starch? the original recipe from Europe calls for wheat. why would I want GMO corn starch?
Scari GMO!!!! 😱😱😱😱😱
Because corn starch makes it smoooooth. You can get non-GMO cornstarch.
Whatever crackpot
Why is this an issue when you have the answer
Odd behavior.
I don't have cornstarch ;/
Don't forget it on your next grocery run. 😄😊
Buy it .
