The best thing you’ll ever do for your kids is the gift of leaving that domestic violence relationship. My mother did not and here I am 45 years later with severe PTSD from growing up in a house where I saw my mom beaten, choked, kicked, and cursed. Anytime I hear loud voices or a female voice scream, it triggers anxiety in me. The damage is unimaginable not to mention the trust issues I have with men because of that. I celebrate any mom who loves their children enough to get them out of those environments.
