It's certainly amazing to see you grow from a guy cleaning his M3 in the driveway to building this incredible company! The growth both personally and professionally has been amazing!!! On a side note, it seems many of the recent projects have always started off with the yellow and brown theme...😂. Great job, Matt, and continued success!!
Absolutely amazing.. having all your current employees and future employees all in one building is a smart move. With how crazy Matt is.. this building will be top notch once he’s finished with it.. obviously it will take time and money.. but in time this building will be perfect. literally can't believe how far Matt has gone with Obsessed Garage in the past 7-8 years that I've been following. So awesome to witness and very motivating. Every project I keep thinking what's he gonna do to top this, and he keeps one upping himself. Helen to LZ project to HQ2.0...we'll be on to Canada and Europe soon, the grande finale is when Matt goes and builds his "forever" home.
Your progression from a Condo Garage, to the first suite and moving into the second suite, expanding into the Yarn building and then acquiring a facility of this magnitude is freaking amazing! In the last six years your vision has been quite successful with strategic planning and taking risks at the right time. I've been following this journey and excited to see this building get transformed into an exceptionally functional facility that takes you to the next level. That phase two warehouse area would be a perfect spot to stage the curated operations if you could somehow make a temporary passage between the main warehouse.

Matt, I am a wireless engineer and I would be more than happy to do a wireless design for you if you like. Just need a floor plan (updated) and I can map out walls, ceiling heights and let you know where you should install APs and how many you'll need. Congrats BTW!
Hey Matt love the new building. I’m a hvac service tech by trade. Couple cliff notes to consider on those carrier AHUs. New refrigerant just came out to production. Almost 100% carrier is going with R-458b. Would be cost effective to go with the new gas as r-410a is only going to get more expensive over time. Also with the controls on the unit, advocate for an open source control system (ex. Johnson explorer system). This will prevent you from being locked into proprietary junk with a contractor. Keep up the great work and like you taught me, honor the source !
Wow guys I’m beyond excited to see this journey into the new OG HQ. It looks incredible! I love the building and the vision, I can already see it unfolding. Been with you guys since the beginning and it’s been one of the more rewarding transformations to witness.

What a nice place!!! As for the red outlet and switches, my guess is that they are generator only. The UPS is in my opinion no where big enough for the amout of outlets it this place, it's probably only to power the MDF and Server room whilst the generator is starting, wich would make more sense. I find it amazing the amount of emergency power that you have in this building, very useful!

I work as a Software Engineer but also do a bunch of creative work and have been doing both for 25 years in companies large and small. One thing I think you really need to design around is keeping any of your creative people (media, website, etc) separate from people who spend a lot of time on the phone. They are very different disciplines and it's an absolute deal killer for creative people to have to be around people who are talking on the phone all day.
Not just an introvert/extrovert thing, they are just very different responsibilities and it really makes creative work miserable if you are forced to wear headphones all day rather than using headphone when you want to and also being able to talk to your other creative coworkers easily. I think it could honestly lead to a lot of turnover because it makes creative people not want to go to work, especially when there is so much freelance and remote work available these days.
It seems like your crew designing garages are sort of in the middle since they need to talk on the phone but also have separate creative time as well. One thing you could do for them is setup one or two "phone booths" which are basically flexible rooms specifically to make calls from so that you have privacy for any personal calls but can also keep from annoying other coworkers.
Lastly, I think you guys should find some flexible office spaces to tour.. like a WeWork or some other type of creative co-working space, but take a look at at least a few of them. I think you guys would learn a lot about building a really modern flexible space vs just your average boring corporate hellhole.
If you search the interwebs for "venture x lodo denver"; that was the most amazing space I've worked in out of at least a dozen or more spaces in my long career and you can get an idea of what high end creative space looks like these days.

@Matt you need to get a estimate on that HVAC tonnage. Removing all those offices and ducting is really going to give you a huge overkill for the remaining interior spaces. That can lead to all kinds of issues. Nothing crazy, but often overlooked.
Yep, that's the plan. Once we remove the office and get a better idea of how it's all going to look, I'll get some new calcs done.

That road becomes nearly impassable towards 441 around 230-3pm when the school lets out. We’ve been hoping it gets widened sooner than later!

Highly recommend Engineered Comfort Solutions for your HVAC & controls needs. They are based out of the West Palm Beach area but do work all over Florida.
I was out in Orlando a few days ago and was hoping to visit OG, due to time and Disney World I couldn’t make it. Hopefully next time I’ll be visiting the new HQ!.
Recommend for HVAC controls using a tridium Jace-8000 frontend and can use lynxspring edge controllers, or Schneider spacelogic or even just keep it all tridium with tridium i/o modules. depending how many air handlers, vav's you have on site along with any boilers or chillers 20-30k for controls wont be enough. But the tridium frontend and the controllers can do lighting as well.
This sounds complicated and expensive. Ha, ha... I'm saving this comment for the future! Thanks.

25,000 sq ft is INSANE, as is all that parking and ceiling height...holy shit man what a MONSTER of a building. This is 5x many guys dream shops, plus its finished, with tons of LAN lines, hvac, battery backup etc that would cost HUNDREDS of theousands!!!!. What an AMAZING buy

There some wall paint that can be used as a white board…. Igor be a pretty cool thing to add in your development room. It’s a little pricey but maybe you can workout a brand deal

Matt, this is AWESOME! The building is massive, I can’t wait for the OG touch! You mentioned the parking lot was ready to be paved, please wait till you’re done with the construction! Nobody cares about how they treat a parking lot during construction!
PCI compliance in that building is next level!!
Congratulations as the building looks like the bones are strong! May I suggest looking into carpet tiles for the offices or vinyl plank flooring. Tiles are strong but the grout always gets dirty. I like how instead of just ripping down walls you’re adding a roll up door inside because this can provide extra wall space. This new warehouse will be so much more efficient for picking and shipping orders. I do need lights for my small 20’ X 20’ garage and have questions about your three different packages. Do I need to email or call anyone to search for answers? Thank you for the video.

About the bathroom wall being turned into some fancy air filter system...I like the idea but simple and most effective thing is exhaust fans near the source.
Your main fan room/HVAC system; the controller-less system is actually wise and mostly trouble free... Understand, banks have endless cash to update that old system but didn't because banks are smart; because it would be a full gut out... The old stuff is actually more trouble free sadly, plus easy to repair. Most HVAC companies will want to remove then add at least 2 new large fan systems with VFD (variable frequency drive motors and controllers) drives plus tons of mixing boxes, sensors for the offices and rooms and soak you for it too; just to have slightly better HVAC controls per room and areas...all under the guise of saving your money over a long term for marginal inconvenience. The automation controller systems will want to sign a renewable multi level service contract...this is probably why the bank ditched said extortion to go just on or off (there has to be something controller running to adjust air temps still or it's all analogue)?

Holy crap! That place is huge! Thankfully refreshing it shouldn't be too terrible granted there is some electrical + low volt and HVAC to do, but everything else seems to be in great shape!

For the warehouse extension demo, suggest a temporary stud and plastic wall at the concrete join meeting the overhead steel beam (approx 6 feet from the existing wall) to keep dust out of your working area.
I love to see progression like this. Truly shows what's possible when you work hard in this country.

Matt is on whole Nother level here. I wonder how many fire extinguishers are in that building at the winery we have 300 and it was my job at the time to inspect them all monthly but now in my new position I don’t have to do that anymore I’m not sure what, your county is like to deal with, but you may have to have a vendor service come monthly and inspect them Matt.
