a group with enormous popularity and countless timeless songs. I'm sure you've heard a lot of them, without even knowing that they're on Depeche Mode. This is a typical phenomenon of old groups, such as Queen, Metallica, and so on.
My favourite band ever since i was 13 yrs old and first heard them in 1982. Absolute Legends (To be sure, your life is not fully complete until you've seen one of their live shows! Or at least a video of it..)
Depeche Mode is an awesome band ahead of their time. They have so many great songs. Their music is sexy, sultry, melodic with a great dance beat. Enjoy the music ! It's important to check out the studio version a few times first before listening to them live. 👍
There's a lot of Depeche Mode songs to recommend, I will list by all their albums from their first to their current. Of course a lot of Depeche Mode fans will also include their favorites as well. I will also include mine. 1) Speak and Spell - Puppets, Photographic, Just can't get enough 2) A Broken Frame - My Secret Garden, The Sun and the Rainfall 3) Construction Time Again - Everything Counts 4) Some Great Reward - People are People, Somebody, another one is Lie to Me 5) Black Celebration - A Question of Lust, Stripped, another personal favorite of mine is Here is the House 6) Music for the Masses - Never Let Me Down Again and Strangelove 7) Violator - You already did Enjoy the Silence, here's some good ones World in My Eyes, Personal Jesus, Policy of Truth 8) Songs of Faith and Devotion - I Feel You, Walking in my Shoes, and Condemnation 9) Ultra - It's No Good, Home, Freestate, The Bottom Line 10) Exciter - I feel Loved, FreeLove 11) Playing the Angel - Precious 12) Sounds of the Universe - Wrong, In Sympathy 13) Delta Machine - Heaven, Soothe My Soul 14) Spirit - Cover Me 15) Memento Mori - Ghost Again, Before We Drown
Huge fan of DM from their early beginnings! I saw them 4 times live first time was after the release of black celebration and the last time 15 years ago ! Your list is very decent, some songs are missing - to my humble opinion - like leave in silence, the things you said, sacred etc. but it's mainly a matter of taste 👍👍😄🕺
This song was huge when I was in college back in the early 90’s. Us guys, we wore timberline boots and very baggy wide legged jeans. That was the hip-hop culture of the day.
Thing you got the meaning on 2nd listen tbh. It's about the moment, no need for words - he had everything he needed in his arms. Find a live version (will be loads from 90s to this week as they are on world tour) and see it live with crowd joining in. It won't dissapoint.
Iconic sound of the 80’s you got to love it!!!❤️ So many good song from Depeche Mode but you will LOVE the song Precious. Amazing timeless jewel. Thanks for an honest reaction.
The song was originally recorded in 1989 and the original demo was a ballad created by Martin Gore, however it was Alan Wilder who had the idea of transforming it into a more danceable song. This song is not only iconic for the band but it is iconic for electronic music because it was avant-garde, providing a sound that still feels modern to our time 35 years since its creation. The band has always been very experimental in its growth, I recommend listening to SEE YOU and LEAVE IN SILENCE so you can notice from where their unique style is born. Great channel. Greetings and blessings.
Legendary band. Innovators of the 80‘s, superstars of the 90‘s, and still going strong today with Too 10 albums and sold-out stadium tours. Try „Walking in my shoes“ next if you liked this one! It‘s „De-pesh“ by the way (French)
My Cousin was absolutely obsessed with DM. She got me into them, through the song, Question of Lust. As good as the Original is, the Minimal Version of it, is even better. ~Fagile like a baby in your arms~ Once you hear those lyrics, it'll be stuck to you, for the rest of your life. And if you're looking for more Depeche Mode Songs with similar vibes to Enjoy the Silence: 1. Never Let Me Down Again 2. World In My Eyes 3. Halo 4. Black Celebration 5. Policy of Truth
Depeche Mode are a huge electronic synth band from England Enjoy The Silence and Personal Jesus are the highest rated songs to hit the USA Billboards. Personal Jesus has been mixed by so many EDM dj's and artists. DM also is also referred to as the godfathers of EDM music
I feel like the writer of this song, Martin Gore, who is the one with blond curly hair when they show the 4 members of the band, would be really happy with this reaction! He stated that all of his songs are written so that everyone can interpret the songs in their own way. Also, and just a weird coincidence, when they show the band disappearing, the first one who disappears is Alan Wilder, who left the band in 1995. He joined in 1982. Then the next one to disappear is Andrew Fletcher (aka Fletch) who died in 2022. That leaves Martin Gore, who was the main songwriter, and Dave Gahan, who is the main vocalist, left in the band. They are currently fulfilling extended dates on their world tour for their latest album Memento Mori. The album was written and titled before Andrew Fletcher died, but not yet recorded. They began their tour for the album in March of this year, sold out many venues and are now going back around the world for the second leg of the tour. Recommendations: Peace, Wrong, Fragile Tension, Ghosts Again, from their more modern works. There are many many many more to choose from, but you get a flavor for what the band has become from those songs... at least I feel that way... Older songs? Anything from Catching Up With Depeche Mode. For mid DM: Exciter, and Playing the Angel. You really see/hear the transition they go through in these two albums as they become the modern band they are now, (which is a statement you heard about them during every era of their music) on the cutting edge of music!
Being s heroin addict at the time of this song's release, i immediately related the chorus to my pleasure of the hit..." All i ever wanted, all i ever needed is here in my arms"
Since this is the only song I like by Depeche Mode, I am gonna recommend other 80s bands of similar sounds and style, or who were major popular at the time : | Duran Duran : Planet Earth, Girls On Film, Rio, Hungry Like The Wolf, Hold Back The Rain, New Religion, Save A Prayer, The Chauffeur, The Seventh Stranger, New Moon On Monday, The Reflex, The Union Of The Snake, Wild Boys, A View To A Kill | Platinum Blonde : It Doesn't Really Matter, Standing In The Dark, Not In Love, Situation Critical, Crying Over You, Somebody Somewhere | Honeymoon Suite : Burning In Love, Stay In The Light, I Got A New Girl Now, Wave Babies, What Does It Take | Gowan : A Criminal Mind, Cosmetics, You're A Strange Animal, Moonlight Desires
Thank you for your reaction Depeche mode is a legendary band, I love their music, I recommend a Mexican rock band to react to, they are 3 sisters who play and sing incredible, their name is The Warning, you can see their song more or evolve in their live performance at the MTV Vmas 2023 greetings from Guadalajara Mexico
Your Ren reactions brought me here...Depeche were a big band for me in my teens :-) Classic rock figured largest in my collection and I would really like to see what you think of my favourite band now...possibly ever. I suggest the song 'Domination' Official Live by Band-Maid. Awesome women musicians at the top of the rock game :-)
The uncut version had some additional love confessions by Natalie, but it made the US test audience squeamish so it was cut off. It wasn't that bad, it underscored the love not returned. It's a bit twisted in hindsight because the director has had a reputation of inappropriate relationships with his female leads. Not with Natalie, but some others. I love his films, so it's a bit hard.
The lyrics suggest to me that two people can just be together and "enjoy the silence", where there's no need to fill every second with conversation and words, which can sometimes "only do harm" (ever say something, then wish you hadn't, or have the other person take it wrong?). But that's just me. The actual meaning is probably something completely out of left field.
Je me souviens bien de cette période, je sortais du service militaire , la New wave, le chômage, la misère , les années noires en France comme en Angleterre. Bref les années 80.
Next Please watch Aisha Retno ft Kahrisma pin when you believe ( Whitney Houston Mariah Carey cover).Aisha Retno in WHUT ( Wanna Hold U Tight) live session Or Assia Keva in Only You (live session). They have amazing R&B vocals. Thanks very much

Con este video comenzaron los años 90, está canción es de 1990. Depeche Mode siempre ha sido una banda innovadora, avanzada a su tiempo.
This song ended the 1980's in style.
well said!

El disco al que pertenece está canción "Violator", es uno de los discos más importantes de la historia del Rock y parece que viene de otro mundo.
Agreed💯

As a Finnish this could be our national anthem. :)

Also, Martin's version is on the single. I'm glad Alan updated it. It flows better within the album.

It‘s „De-pesh“ by the way (French)
Yes, and the "e" is pronounced the same way in each part of De-Pesh; the same as the "e" sound in "vector."
I love Depeche Mode .
I grow up with their music and i see them live 3 times

The bands of the 80s were given to us by the music gods
So were the bands from the seventies.
You definitely need to see the 2018 live version from Berlin.
9:00 Damn, this girl is realling felling the song.
This band has a unique vibe if you really like this song I recommend you listen all violator album.

Agree with others. You have to check this song live in Berlin. Awesome!
Yes. It is the best live version of this song.

For a similar era Gary Numan-Cars is legendary. If you want a twist Fear Factory covered the song with Gary Numan singing with them.

Depeche Mode is great. They have a bunch of hits, but my favorite song by them wasn't released as a single: The Love Thieves.
Depeche Mode is always modern
Very very nice song ETS....DEPECHE MODE 1990 ❤❤❤
The lyrics suggest to me that two people can just be together and "enjoy the silence", where there's no need to fill every second with conversation and words, which can sometimes "only do harm" (ever say something, then wish you hadn't, or have the other person take it wrong?).
