excellent review, you hit all the hot points. I just traded my 2021 Ram 1500 Limited in on a 2025 Limited last week....couldn't be happier. I was conflicted about going to the smaller/quieter 6CYL engine but after I drove it, there was no going back. this truck performs like a sports car, the acceleration pull from that engine is astounding.
Wow! As a mechanic, I love seeing all that room ground the bellhousing underneath the truck.
Remember folks, this is just a half ton, with sub par payload! Not even close to being worth 77k! It boggles my mind, that these manufacturers continue to charge such outlandish prices for these trucks!! BTW, you can get a 24 RAM 3500, with the HO Cummins, Laramie longbed, for less than this truck!!
That's what I've been saying for these past few years now. A half ton sized truck value is ridiculously and outlandishly priced out of proportion when you factor in the the price of a proper 1 ton truck. It's like if you're going to be paying that kind of big money, it might as well go towards a big truck. At this point in our economy and utility for anyone in general, it would be more advantageous to have a heavier duty truck on hand. Because the half ton size is unusable with what you can do with it. It's pretty much no different than getting a car regarding it's utility. Sure, if all you want is a really roomy vehicle that will occasionally be used for some light truck things, then that's fine. Especially if you know what it is you're getting. But for the people who are looking at these trucks regarding a value point of view, it's better to go with a 3/4 ton and 1 ton truck instead. I think for the most part, there's no such thing as too much truck.
Who cares what other people want to buy ... maybe not everone wants to ride around in a 💩 riding 3500 ...duh....
@@atg1338 No shit, dude. I'm talking, and I'm sure the original poster can agree with, is the uninformed buyer who is only looking at things at a value point of view. If you have f**k you money, you can buy whatever the heck you want.
@@jonathanjones2722 calm down lil johnny boy🤣🤣🤣 lil johnny gets triggered so eazy🤣🤣🤣🤡🤡🤡💯💯💯
@@atg1338 Says the dude who had to comment their opinion. If you truly did not care about what other people wanted to buy, you wouldn't feel the need to comment. Yet you did.
My biggest turnoff from these hurricane engines is there isn't an oil dipstick. It uses electronic oil level sensors to monitor engine oil and is just something else to fail. If I was going to spend this much money on a truck, I'd just get the 2500 Power Wagon because it's much more capable for the price.
I’ve owned 2 vehicles without dipsticks now & you know what? That metal rod did a bunch of nothing compared with electronic oil monitoring. If I’m a quart low, a message appears in the dash. Metal rod didn’t alert me. Metal rod waits for your oil light to illuminate & your engine to begin knocking.
I know…I know…another thing to fail. Guess what? Modern cars/trucks are full of electronics. Most are supremely reliable. Get used to it.
@@tomh9470 💯
Just a few things to remember about the Hurricane. The injectors are indeed centrally located and "overspray" to "mist" the intake. A few things people fail to remember is the first-gen Ecoboost was indeed singularly direct-injected and in Ford circles, most say it is the most reliable due to less complexity. In fact, carbon build-up was not a huge issue with those. Early models did suffer timing, turbo, and intercooler issues, but they were largely addressed early. As for the Hurricane, the turbos are parallel, the engine is truly built for torture, and being an I-6, is inherently balanced and has less moving parts. It is a new engine and needs time to prove itself in the real world, but we shall see!
New? It’s three years old. Been in the Grand Cherokee for a while now.
@@FAB_GNC the Grand Cherokee doesn't offer the Hurricane I-6, at least not yet. The engine debuted in the 2023 Wagoneer.
This is in the Grand Wagoner
Hemi does not require midgrade fuel. It is suggested, but I have run regular in mine for over 10 years with no problems.
Great information , good to know👍
I have been a GM owner/driver for a very long time. I just had my last blood pressure raise from my dealer. Ram here I come. Great review which was the turning point in making my decision.
Get ready another pressure raise from RAM. Unless you want a plain jane tradesman type of truck you'll still pay handsomely for even that one. All of the big 3 are smoking some special stuff in order to mark up trucks this much over the last 5 years.
It's soo dumb that they didn't at least give the larmie the led taillights like they did last year. It makes the truck look sooo much more premium and better looking.
8:59 that's incorrect. The 9.5 compression ratio is lower than the SO. The 91 octane requirements are based on the boost ranges at max RPM. The 9.5 allows the system to run cooler. Otherwise the engine would require 100 octane.
Edit, and please stop complaining about wanting a power steering wheel feature. That's literally the most useless option in automotive history. The steering wheel is literally designed to be manipulated by the wheel via hands. Chrysler was always smart to leave this feature as is.
#Grown Man
I think this is my first ever comment/review on youtube. You killed it! This was a FANTASTIC review video. So well articulated.
Always put regular grade in my hemi and it runs just fine.
Hemi recommended midgrade it not a requirement, plenty of people have only ran 87 in their hemis.
87 works perfectly fine in the hemi.....
I got 30,000 on my 2022 Grand Cherokee Hemi, all I've ever used was 87 octane.@leedanielson7452
@@marksmith5994 Yup! Me too!👍
mine knocked when I ran it on 87
I have a 2019 Limited w/6'4 bed and hemi and I never ran anything other than regular
The upper control arm is not plastic. It's forged aluminum like the other ones.
You said they “give you a better brand of tires” I don’t think “ give” is the right word to use. Lol😂
I’ll stick with my Laramie for a few more years and I love it with the Hemi and I usually just fill it up with 87 and not a problem so far
rams and all of past Chryslers brands whole future now relies on whether this engine can go 150k miles without a hicup..if these start having problems at 70k..its over for ram
I love the new Ram it next in my driveway
It’s such a shame Ram won’t put this cab on the HD’s
Agreed. And until the HD trucks get the self driving package I'm not paying near $100k for any truck. Period. They'll be worthless as soon as the other trucks have self driving features.
Seriously ram can give LED license plate lights but cant spare $7 for LED third brake light and rear cab light 🤦♂️
Twin turbo is next level definitely a game changer
it definitely is. I just bought one, and the engine performance was the motivator for me.
The hemi did not "require" mid-grade fuel. It would run fine on 87, but 89 was recommended for better performance.
🙏🏾🙏🏾for Stellantis
Hiya JB, You said there was no "ECO Mode" on the tested Ram Limited; on the Ram TRX, using the optional "Snow Mode", enabled an almost 50% jump in MPG. Can you trial the same with a Ram Limited sometime ?
In the truck world, this is a modern-day El Camino. I'm sure it will haul your grocery items just fine.
They are plastic uppers. They've been doing this for most of the 5th gen Rams... The Limited is slowly loosing the highest end look and options. They don't have a wood top on the steering wheel, as well as other options that were top tier. All of the Mopar line-up is $20k over priced. Sales will continue to free fall. Maybe this is an intentional action from stellantis.
so is ram-box standard? also the laramie doesn't have full display cluster which really stinks but rebel does. How does the HO feel vs 3.5 eco boost?
Standard on Tungsten, Limited, Longhorn
The interior on my 2019 still looks like new. They really stripped the Limited down to make room for the other trims and raised the price. That's a bad look.
It doesn't have an oil dipstick. How do you think that's going to work out??
I know they’ve added a digital dash and a 14 1/2 inch screen and an extra screen and some embroidery and things like that and different seats from the higher trims but it’s the same interior for six years now I think they should look at a redesign
they got rid of the western stitching and "denim" looking wood. A good thing.
It ain't gonna be sold until prices become reasonable no matter the trim levels. Folks still want the Hemi, the I6 is too new and issues are already being reported on it
It's been out for almost 2 yrs and doing good so far. Not everyone wants an oldd slow v8. It's called change son
What issues?? I don't think anybody has issues to the level of Toyota right now.
@@hellkitty1014 you trolls are the problem
JB hemi 89 octane is recommended but not required. HO requires 91.
I'll keep my 23 Laramie Hemi over that anyway of the week...I just don't believe that twin 6 is gonna last
No turbo V8’s then no Ram for me!
I love all ppl but I have been looking for a brother to do reviews on trucks and trailers! 💪🏾
No test drive?
Expensive, but looks pretty nice...
There shouldn't be a single incandescent lamp in there at that price. That truck should sticker 20k lower than it is. dod gam Pray'n Stellantis does it again ...! Man .. wut they smokn' over there ??!
It's also a closed deck block design. It's meant to make lots of power-
Yes, you are correct my friend. It isn't some engine that Ram decided to slap a couple of turbos on and wild out on boost levels. It was literally meant for this type of power from the beginning.
The HURRICANE High Output (HO) cranks out an exhilarating 510 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft of torque. The engine you're referring to is only in the RHO.
Incorrect - they have the same output numbers
540
My biggest concern is the new block on it. I have some not so good feeling, as the miles are raking in. Time will tell. I drove one, last week. It rides sooooo nice, really. Like a Cadillac. if I am going to spend so much, I want to make sure she will be worry free, if possible. Yes, no truck is perfect. I did hear, that something is going on with the thermostat at around 30K. Its all made out of plastic and its causing issues.
So no 360 cameras for 80 k ?
The 2019 has the power tailgate but it don’t go up with power
“You can see a better view of the front suspension”….. I saw that plastic lower A arm !
Plastic wrapped aluminum
No manufacturer is stupid enough to make a plastic control arm 😂
Why do you keep saying since they released it in 2019? What are you referring to? Because I bought my first Limited Ram in 2016 model year. I paid 55k for it
What was the point of making a 500+ hp engine if its gonna have a less towing rating than the hemi or even the regular hurricane engine? So higher premium fuel costs, less towing rating with a highly strung small displacement engine for more money. Smdh🤦🏿
is the disappointing tow rating due to the engine or is it a limitation of the suspension?
Because Ram knows the avg half-ton buyer is a poseur. They just want a truck to do "un-truck" things.
2:20 Is the control arm actually plastic?
Well, I know something about that because I own the 2019 ram limited 5.7 L hemi truck
Yes it was very dumb not to put port injection with the direct injection the valves will carbon up. And I get this engine makes a lot of power but who wants a truck u have to run high octane gas in.
Kinda silly imo that ram boxes are now standard... I don't want to have to deal with them leaking and the plastic peeling up from heat in 3-4 years down the road and let alone the decrease in bed space
I'd buy a diesel if the price goes down. Prices aren't going down anytime soon.
JB...WHAT is this $2 BILLION dollar bailout the federal government giving stelantis going to do for dodge prices?
These f****** things are going to be sitting forever😂😂😂😂😂
You are an ignorant 🤡💯👍
Says who???
@BrianEugeneLee-FJCruiser YA see... You get IT!!!... Thank you for taking the time to respond 👍👍👍
@BrianEugeneLee-FJCruiser 👍👍👍
@BrianEugeneLee-FJCruiser who cares😢😢😢
❤❤❤❤❤😍😍😍😍😍
No test drive??!!?
That's a nice truck but it's really stripped down for a Limited.
77,🤯
You got to be out of your mind to buy a truck for that kind of money.
Plastic parts on the suspension on a 80000$ Truck? Interesting
Just wait till you start having problems with the electrical and air suspension. Never getting another ram again.
Sounds like good for 100k and then dump it.
Did I see on the sticker 17 miles to gallon that is horrendously low should be illegal. There’s no reason that a truck with a six cylinder engine should get an MPG of 17 miles to the gallon. Ram has failed.
1331 lbs is 3/4 ton almost... and well above 1/2 ton.there used to be 1/4 ton trucks..... alot of people r demanding that 1500s be 1 ton trucks. its ridiculous
But all of the luxury trucks are 1300-1400 payload.
Because most of what you might tow with any truck these days requires more payload. That's just how it is now.
Why would I spend so much money on a half when I can get a mid-size that has comparable payload, better on gas, and rides better OR just get an HD truck with much better payload and towing capacity.
until the HD trucks get the self driving package I'm not paying near $100k for any truck. Period. They'll be worthless as soon as the other trucks have self driving features. It's pathetic the big 3 are so far behind in tech to all the other vehicles on the road driving themselves.
This year ram trucks will not have automatic parking, nor the power on board in the tailgate
F*** the nice dashboard and leather seats, plastic and cloth are fine. Knock $5000 off the sticker.
Too much money
wheres the dip stick???oh yea there is NONE!!! 80 grand???? your crazy
77k for this...looks cheaply made
Less towing capacity more money for fuel
Its a soccer moms pickup basically
Truck sales are dying
Then why are trucks still the #1 selling vehicle🤔
@@atg1338 ram down 19% and f150 9% year over year
@@aesho46 yet f150,Silverado and ram are the top 3 selling vehicles.... so you really have no point but i guess you just like being a negative troll...
Ram boxes are so ugly and ruin the bed space.
How do they ruin the bed? U can’t put anything wider than the wheel wells anyway
@@Cadillaclife2023it takes away a big chunk of cubic feet space. Ever help someone move? You'd immediately notice the space those boxes take from you.
@@SliderFury1 ever move someone in 1 truck trip!?! God forbid u use a trailer because u lost a bunch of useless space! I had a ram w ram box and absolutely never even once said” damn I wish I didn’t have them because they take away soooooo much bed space”😂😂😂……. Unless your moving sand, rocks or dirt that space is almost pointless

NO FU(KING WAY I'm paying $80k for a TRUCK! They've LOST their minds. And on top of that, it's a POS!
