      The Australian govt is made up with d/heads, sudo communists (greens and Labor) and nit wits. It would be advantageous if all govt would piss off out of our lives. All they are doing is screwing it up. Additionally, trying to get to zero emmisuons at the expense of the country's ecconomy is ludicrous and is unachievable. Forcing people to buy rubbish EV's is not going to work. EV's are so polluting and bloody expensive to charge that is it not economical for me alone. So, govt, stick your legislation where it hurts the most and stay the hell out of my life. You have already screwed it up for me.

      2023 UK Government initiative
      New plans setting out the government’s long-term aim to use fewer new resources, drive up the repair and reuse of existing materials, and increase recycling were announced by Environment Minister Rebecca Pow today (28 July).
      The programme, called ‘Maximising Resources, Minimising Waste’ brings together a range of measures backed by government funding which will help to keep products and materials in circulation for as long as possible and at their highest value, including through increasing reuse, repair and remanufacture, helping to grow the economy and boost employment.

The most complex part of an ICE car is the engine which can last up to 500,000km or 25 years for reliable cars like Honda , Toyota and some Benz models. EV in comparison have simple engine (motor) but the complexity is the battery which is sealed and not repairable. With each passing year of having an EV the changes of a spontaneous fire increases. The reason is battery degradation, and failure of BMS components. A failed BMS chip will cause a fire. Compare it to an ICE car. A failed chip in the ECU will just cause the car to stop not burn to the ground.

    A constitutional lawyer needs to take a class action law suit on behalf of the Australian people, consumer against these "mandates" under restricting the rights to travel
    Section 92 of the Australian Constitution. The term "intercourse" in Section 92 has been interpreted broadly by the High Court to include freedom of movement between states. This means that laws preventing or unreasonably restricting interstate travel could potentially be challenged as unconstitutional.
    Past challenges under Section 92 have typically involved restrictions on trade or commerce, but the High Court’s interpretation of "intercourse" to include movement of people provides a plausible foundation for a case.
    If a case were pursued, it would likely need to show that the mandates are not only burdensome but also unnecessary or premature, given current infrastructure limitations.

    We need more fossil fuels and more climate change. Both are massive net positives for the world. Climate change isn't just normal but good, far more people die from cold than heat, even in places like India. Warming isn't uniform, but concentrated in the coldest areas and coldest times. CO2 has a diminishing greenhouse effect, i.e. every molecule of CO2 we emit has less environmental impact than the last.
    More CO2 means fewer cold deaths, more crop growth, more farmable land, and more fossil fuel use means fewer climate deaths, more climate control, more productivity, more industry, more innovation. We are nowhere near 'running out' of fossil fuels, and the next step up is nuclear, which is even more abundant.
    Highly, highly recommend the book "Fossil Future" for a detailed breakdown of the above and more!

Then there's the fossil fired power wasted charging the Battery for the power to cart the Battery about. By the time your electric planet saver has reached the carbon zero balance and you actually might start to save the Planet it will be due for the scrap heap. that's of course if the Batery actually lasts that long. If it needs to be replaced mid stream then you'll never reach Net Zero. There's also the Deisel powered charging stations in the Outback that will add to the Carbon negativity figures.

    • @markboscawen8330
      @markboscawen8330 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      As are the emissions from driving the vehicle and making & delivering the fuel.
      Over the full lifetime of the vehicle, EVs emit much less C02 than ICE vehicles.
      Yes BEVs have more embedded emissions at the showroom floor stage, but after that those emissions are far lower than ICE. Just how much lower depends on whether it is mainly charged by electricity produced by RE, gas, coal, nuclear, hydro, etc. Depending on the number of Km driven each year, an EV will generally break even emissions wise with an ICE car at around the 3-4 year mark. After that, the ICE vehicle is environmentally worse as not only does it create emissions when that fuel is burnt, emissions are created from extracting, transporting, refining, transporting & selling that fuel.
      Then, when scrapped, there is a higher environmental payback by EVs. The minerals in the battery can be recycled - reducing the embedded emissions of the next EV made.
