Writing this comment on a Sunday morning in South Africa. I randomly remembered this song from when I was in high school and looked it up :)! It's still delightful :)!
my thought this is the most underrated song ever. this is hidden treasure. i hear first time and shot instantly and i played it like x10 times. wow man..
I heard this song when I was a kid on vh1. The chorus got stuck in my head. I forgot the song but I unconsciously kept singing the chorus and finally I thought of searching the lyrics and found this song. 😁
The lack of views on this video is criminal. Hands down one of THE BEST SONGS of all time. This whole album deserves way more credit than given. It’s like when Schitts Creek hit the American market and took off. Canadians appreciate the gold that is K-os but the rest of the world needs to be privy to this level of talent. I really hope the people overseas and across the boarder can hear this at some point. K-os is way too talented to be limited to the Canadian population.
this came out in 2007. the same year as crank that by soulja boy and party like a rockstar by the shop boys. I can't stand you back in my day ass losers
Probably my favourite song ever, so damn nostalgic. Takes me back to late Saturday nights and early Sunday mornings where there was no wrong to be done. Just pure good.
@@carazen at the time of writing yep! Seen him in brantford. Knew people who were gonna go in Waterloo two days later. Played most of the main hits. Was a good time!
Every day is Saturday nighttt but I can’t wait for Sunday morninnn! Sunday morninggggahhhhahhhhayyyy.. you might be the greatest thing I’ve ever seen, all I know is music..alll I’ve ever known
chronicrossi89 Depends on how you want to measure success. :) In my opinion, it's Drake. But record sales it's biebs (as much as I don't like him). Don't let your emotions trump logic.
Doesn't get any better.....This came out when was working exploration in the Arctic...literally no trees for 80 km.....thinking of lying on the Quad at Vic U.💘💘
One of the great songs/tracks/celebrations of k-os and his talents.. top-10 all time Canadian dance tracks (minus the CanadaGoose plug)... we miss you Kev!
Man...this takes me back to 2009. Back then, my Mom and I had just moved to Yellowknife and I had just started grade 3 and a series known as The Batman (from 2004) was just about to end and among Ben 10 and Bakugan, The Batman vs Dracula was a popular topic among the kids at my school. I also remember singing this while swinging on the swing set at a local school (I think it was a High School...? Don't know why it had a playground) that was much bigger than my school. Ah...good times.
+Julie Maeng i was wondering about this... i say eff Canada Goose. Especially if you are vegetarian celebrity. They mame and torture rabbits and coyotes for their fur
For over 2 years I have thought this was song by a white guy from like 2018. First time actually looking it up on TH-cam and finding out it has had a music video from 14 years ago and sung by a black guy, mind blown.
K-os was everything i listened to as a kid and I didnt know his name. How is he so unpopular when I knew all of his songs from the radio. Shit if only this came out 10 years later so it could blow up on youtube 2
I agree with many people: the chorus came bubbling up in my head and I had an entire day almost all to myself where I listened to it sooo dammn muucch. And wtf the lyrics are deep for once; a modernish song that isn't trying to be 'neat' or acts as a concealed message or cover up, or aimed a person, thing, concept or group, nor is't off-the-wall obscure in its overall choice and use of language.
Nvm. Found the answer. Beware: its a long one. k-os: Probably a song on the record called Sunday Morning. It was thefirst song I wrote. Then I thought, 'Okay, I can start making the album.I write songs all the time, for fun. The way I wrote that song, it's asif I was saying something I didn't even know I felt. That's when I startwriting albums - when I start writing songs that express emotions thatare hidden to myself. Gazette: What was it expressing for you? k-os: A certain amount of boredom with everything I was pursuing sinceI was a kid about music - going to parties, having a record everyoneliked. being a popular person, girls. All these things seemed likesomething I had been chasing since I was 15 or 16 years old. This songsort of sounded sad about it. It has jubilant party vibe, but the wayi'm singing it sounds like I'm kind of sad about my situation. I waslike, 'Why am I sounding sad if this is everything I wanted it to be?'That's when I was like, 'Maybe I'm not as happy as I think. That's howmusic becomes an audio autobiography. There are things you learn aboutyourself that come across in the melody or tone. This girl, a friend ofmine, Diane, says tone never lies - the tone of someone's voice, thelook on their face, never lies about who they are. Even though I washappy about where the last record was, and called it Joyful Rebellion, Istill felt unsatisfied, even after the success of that record. Now I'mreally starting to feel more of a kind of joy. I'm able to acknowledgethat the thing I was chasing all the time, success in music, isn't goingto make me happy. What's going to make me happy is peace of mind. Andthat isnt going to come through music. That's going to come throughspiritual evolution, knowing God, or anything I could quote inthisinterview and make it sound metaphysical extrasensorial. Peace of mindis basically when you have peace when you can sit at any point, whetheryou're in your bedroom or on a plane or in a group of crowded people, and feel at peace and happy. That's what I'm actually seeking. I thoughtmusic would bring that to me, but music actually made that harder toget, at least successful music. Because with that comes a lot of ego. Idon't know, it's just all those ideas, you know? Atlantis - the sinkingcity that sank because society got to such a great level of evolutionthat they start to take technology to the next level, and started toclone things and forget they were children of the universe and thinkthey were so arrogant and smart that nature revolted against them. That's where I'm coming from. You get so confident, you start doingthings that don't better yourself. You feel like you are but you'regoing against the laws of nature. That's why I chose the Atlantis theme.
Damn, I was today years old when I found who sang this song. I didn’t even know he was Canadian and hearing this on the radio all the time. K os is very talented too, loved his other song man I used to be as well. This is real music
I remember being in grade 4 when this song came out (27 now), every Canadian pop radio station had this playing and its kinda disappeared from radio. One of the most nostalgic songs for me
I know, right? Someone played me this song years ago and loved it immediately. I honestly think people know and love this song but they don't hype it; they just let it do its own thing and let it find people like it found me. Peace :)
Everytime I watch this I think on how my future son is going to go back in time to an unchanged elementary school but with modern idealology that'll carry generations past and present into a more accepting and inspiring vision .. youth really is a god given gift
Man this song was so cash money and still is how does it only have 800k man k-os is a legend much respect I hope you're doing amazing if you happen to read this.
I really hope K-OS is having a good day wherever he is in Toronto right now.
I really hope he is too. His music is timeless.
He turned metro sexual now
@Josh Bergant living that good life in the countryside 💯 was well impressed following him on IG and seeing him living out there, super dope!
@Josh Bertensen He was recently in Whitby. Saw him at Thickson and Dundas
Saw him at fallsview casino Niagara Falls!
My God K-OS was good. Low key one of the greatest Canadian musical artists.
The fact that this song only has 700K views is just rude. This song is a masterpiece
