David Lindley had such broad tastes, such a discerning ear, and such an ability to express emotion thru music. A huge influence on me, and also on a lot of great musicians. I will miss him.
no one could ever capture the emotion his playing could invoke into a song quite the same. Whatever the song was about, his playing could join the lyrics and music and transport them straight into your heart.. It was his gift to every artist and songwriter he played with.
God, I love David Lindley. I had the pleasure of seeing him live, with Jackson Browne, in 2010 and he was just as fantastic as I'd hoped he'd be, and more so. I was introduced to his music in the early 80s, when I was just a teenager, by two excellent music teachers at my school, Slatyford, in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK. For that alone, Jed and Dave will have my undying gratitude!
May he rest in peace 🙏 David Lindley 🙏 you may be gone but not forgotten 🙏. You have shared your talents with us for so long and now may he sing with the angels.
Thank you Mr. Dave. You gave us so much. You will be missed. I made the mistake of listening to Talkin' To The Wino Too yesterday and it took me apart. RIP.
I can't either.. play it on the guitar.. or anything else.. but I bet I could pick it up pretty quickly... mi casa es su casa, amigo.. in Arizona se dice Bienvenido
Its no secret when you hear some guys play guitar, you think the end is coming, cuz there’s a big pause and you’re relieved, but the guy starts up again; SEVERAL TIMES. You guys know who you are. Just can’t seem to end a song, or are they redoing the ending in real time? Not David. If it ain’t happening, then its done. BOOM! Over. And that’s the way it should be, and the reason we appreciate him so well.
Wow - freaking incredible how your camera guy missed so much of Mr Dave actually playing the guitar & went with a ridiculous close up of his face! Amazing. 😮
Only the name David Rawlings would pique my interest like the name David Lindley. I met David once...he won't remember it...outside a concert with Jackson Browne in Jacksonville, FL in the 70s.
Lindley needs to play his driving slide on tunes like this because he is such a master of rhythm. Fingerpicking like a folk singer just ain't his style. Anyone who's seen him live knows how powerful he is when he gets going, as much as a full band.
David's "style" is just fine, any style. I was just watching a "making of" video of Dave and Bonnie Raitt cover of Jackson Brown's :Everywhere I Go", killer, and another without polyester. Never disappoints.
May he be held in the light
David Lindley you will never be forgotten
Thank you. GOD Bless you.
He is missed...
RIP David Lindley .......Godspeed

RIP Dave. Gone to jam with Warren at the great gig in the sky.
Another legend lost. Thank you for the music.
Godspeed Mr Dave🌹
Thanks for the lifetime of great music. You’ll be missed.🌹
Thank you. GOD Bless you.
Oh sad sad day. David. Rip
Had always hoped to see you live. Thanks for making those instruments talk and soothe our soul.
One of the most beautiful melodic lap steel players the world has ever seen. He was the Master. RIP

💯 I love Dave’s reggae tunes.
As good as the best from 1970’s-80’s Jamaica
David Lindsey is the Julian Bream of Rock and Folk. He is an incredibly talented polyinstrumentalist. I love his playing style.
The Julian Bream of Rock and Folk - extremely high praise... And I agree with you!
Rest in Peace sir....thank you for the memories.....
You will be missed, Mr. David Lindley. Rest in peace.

Thank you Mr. Dave. You gave us so much. You will be missed. I made the mistake of listening to Talkin' To The Wino Too yesterday and it took me apart. RIP.
National musical treasure....we all feed off of his genius...he still inspires me to pick up my guitar..
It’s no coincidence that so many guitar masters consider this musical miracle to be one of histories best

I pray for your soul!
Rendez-vous in Paradise!
Just a few simple chords in the hands of a master can sound so broad and lyrical.

You must be very proud to have thrown Mr. Dave "a curveball". How cool you are.

A musical wizard.

He has the sound and groove, doesn't matter...:)!
Only the name David Rawlings would pique my interest like the name David Lindley. I met David once...he won't remember it...outside a concert with Jackson Browne in Jacksonville, FL in the 70s.
RIP
Sweet and personal performance. A wonderful man and a huge loss. I have that same blue Gretsch Ukulele in the background. Is that yours Jason?
The ending was hilarious! Really enjoyed the song nonetheless.
I love David Lindley my grandson name Aqeel Lindley
😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂☠️ had me dying at the end love it
Goddamned Master...
LOL I loved the ending. It was excellent, but the way you finished it was kind of neat haha
Rip
If I get another chance at life, I want to be your student!

How’s he doing?
Awe fuck, I love hearing you sing this.
If heaven's indifferent to this, it's even more corrupted than you'd think.
I personally don't mind about the end, to get that far then say he can't play it on guitar, lmao, wish I could play it that 'badly' ;-)
"Oh won't you stay just a little bit longer..."
Wow! And Mr. Dave wearing cotton - practically unprecedented!
A Sylvan Music tee shirt!
Pride of Santa Cruz.
No polyester.?
Playing A Henderson! Of course he is !
The dog says "Thank you."
He forgot some words...God knows there's plenty of 'em. It's David Lindley. His mistakes are as good as it gets for most musicians.
Dig it...
So he really is human!
Age is a bitch, i'm telling you.
Lindley is one of my heroes and one of the few that gives me hope for the future of humans.
RIP
